I agree, the timer's were a mistake that stole the replay value. It's cool mission that I know many players would have loved too explore, rolling around locked & loaded with a armoured frikin tank; but instead you only have time to fulfill the main objective. I think they should go back and remove the timer.

I disagree. The timers in my opinion were what made them stand out. It came down to really needing to nail your strategy. It penalized mistakes. It forced players to improve. "Ah we zeroed out at the fans. Next time we oughta get passed those fans" then eventually you zero out at the boss room but have to figure out how to perfect everything before the boss in order to have enough time. Realistically it as pretty easy to finish with 5-7 minutes left which is why we started doing sherpa/carry runs. I know people don't always like hard stuff, but it's what brings the community together to design loadouts ans strats. Guides. Help services and such. It really forces the community to be just that, a community. And yes there will always be some idiots that are toxic, or charge money. That'll happen regardless. But it sure brought a new feeling to the game

Nice work on the free Sherpa runs, that's always great to see in the community. Anything that bring the community together we can always use more of that. My opinion isn't about difficulty though. Personally I enjoy challenging content like you do. I soloed the normal Vox difficulty, and one of these days I hope to complete a solo Conquer seal for that sweet hero cookie; so my opinion hs nothing to do with difficulty, I love it. What I think could have been done is to put a timer on only the Master version, like they did with Presage. And this why... An industrial designer Dieter Rams once outlined 10 principles of good design that resonate with me, they have influenced a lot succesful digital design, such as Apple products. One of his principles is "Good design is long-lasting" I dont think Vox had replay value for many people because of the timer, in fact it possibly excluded many people. Dieter's core motto was good design can only come from understanding people. I believe it's true to say that everyone enjoys going at their own pace, whatever that may be. Some people are speed runners, some like to go-slow, for some exploration & mystery, searching for collectibles like cats; basically low key events. Some people enjoy all of that. These low key events goals like searching for bobble heads, or cats can also bring people together. Adding a timer to the normal Vox didn't allow for any of that.

I agree with the concept but still not to the scenario. Because destiny does offer all of that stuff too, just not in those activities. Just like crucible and gambit, or raids and GMs, not every activity is going to be designed for everyone. The idea of the timer to me still encouraged having to adapt and figure things out quickly, as opposed to a dungeon where the player can be mindlessly wandering around for hours before they beat it. Keep in mind there was not an rng drop at the end, this was a guaranteed exotic weapon that was, at the time, OP. I think if activities give guaranteed exotics no matter what, it should be something that follows this pattern. For example presage was fun yes, it was a great mission. But it was easy with no timer to just do it once and be done first try. Minus the collectables that rotated weekly, which I'm not a fan of personally. I hate feeling like I'm forced tk do the same activity over and over again for drip content that doesn't actually change the content itself, just some dialogue.

I agree exotics are worth effort, but there other ways to create difficulty other than timer's. The Master version held the catalyst, so I still think they could have scaled the difficulty without a timer. The op's point & mine was "What happened to all the secret mission's? Where is the sense of mysteries and adventure? You said there is no point in adding collectibles, and easter eggs etc... to these kinds of activities like Vox because Destiny has all that. Where ? A lot of that has been lost to a fragmented story arc & content vaulting. Destiny started with a goal of creating a world where you want to come back too, you achieve that through creating fun & interesting ways for players to keep interacting with content. That requires a bit of freedom & balance. Sometimes just a tank and no timer.

Call me ArmAにより編集済み: 8/21/2022 11:56:47 PMI still think those activities should have timers , to many of us that makes them better. But I agree that the game is lacking the exciting content that was there before. It's been mostly disappointing for the last year, with very little big secrets added, if any. Hopefully the game gets better soon, as a few of my clan, myself included, are feeling like it's almost time to quit this game for good.

Why are you and your clan getting bored, do you need more timer's ? I can relate to how you and your clan are feeling as of late. Every season I'm reaching a lower power level. I have to say though that this was the first season that I actually had moments where I was actually compelled to pay attention to the story. Like the Witch Queen for example I had no idea why she was stealing the light, or what the light really was. For all I know she was trying to steal free cable television, I might have cared more if that was the case. I'm over the power grind and some of the other very meticulous grind that's just about increasing playtime vs player satisfaction. I just want to blow things up with space magic and play with weapons, not grind until I have carpel tunnel. I'm very excited for arc 3.0 though, I occasionally love fast aggressive play, with niche builds, and i'v been seriously waiting for unstoppable shotguns. But if the seasonal content is the same recipe they have been doing I'm probably taking a more of break.

Yeah, just season after season it's the same crap. Bungie seems to be getting lazier and lazier with their content and now they're just adding weapons back into the game instead of new ones. I was not happy with sunsetting in the first place, but it's been insulting paying 100 bucks a year for them to drop poorly made content, and then re issue old weapons over and over. Their events are literal jokes compared to basically every other game that does events, and the rewards don't feel worth it. The store has more content than the game itself, and everything is half baked. Look at weekly featured raids for example. It's a garbage, lazy, pointless, dumbed down version of weekly featured raids in destiny 1 , which was THAT games BEST content. Everything about d2 (other than quality of life things) is worse than d1. I wish they put in as much effort now as they did then
