Shouldn't there be an auto dismantle feature?
Is there a reason for constantly having to interrupting our game to do it manually?
I know, I know
"Don't use postmaster for storage"
O.K.
But you do realize that the reason that stuff is in our post is because of blues, right?
Any Legendary in our post is there only because, at the time we received it, that slot was jammed up with blues.
If blues auto dismantled, Legendaries would go to our character, not the post, so there would be no way to use the post as storage.
I am not asking for an auto dismantle blue option because I want to use my post for storage.
I am asking for an auto dismantle blue option because blues are a constant, unnecessary, interruption to enjoying my game
Let's think about it.
What purpose does manually throwing this garbage out serve?
Gunsmith rep?
Glimmer?
Whether I dismantle this garbage manually or the game does it automatically the end result is the same, right? Except I get to play my game uninterrupted.
Let's Compare
As the game stands:
I do a strike. I get a blue. I have to stop playing, find a safe place to hide and throw it away. I see another blue. I go to pick it up but I can't because that slot is full. Now I have to go into my menu, dismantle the blue that's preventing me from picking up that blue, come out of my menu, pick it up, go back into my menu, delete this new blue, then continue playing.
Then I get to the end of the strike and receive Legendary engrams. I need to run over them, see which slots I need to clear, go into my menu, clear the slots so I can pick up the rewards, all before the timer counts down to zero, or else my stuff go to the post.
Now my stuff is in the post so I must go to the tower to claim it, because if I don't it'll get pushed out.
See, I'm not 'Using My Post as Storage', but because I couldn't keep up with the constant 'Garbage Maintenance' of this game the rewards I would have received are now in the post master. I can't continue playing without the risk of losing my rewards and have to interrupt my game further by making an unnecessary trip to the tower.
Now imagine an Auto Dismantle Blue feature.
I always dismantle 100% of the blues I receive without even having to look at them, so I toggle the Auto Dismantle Blue feature on.
I play a strike. Any blue I receive is automatically converted to the same amount of glimmer/gunsmith rep as if I were to dismantle it manually, butI get to play uninterrupted.
I receive my rewards and I get to play uninterrupted
While waiting for the next activity to start, I inspect my reward and decide if I want to keep it or dismantle it. If I don't want it I dismantle it. If I decide to keep it I get to play uninterrupted because If I receive another reward in that slot it will go to the post and there is no danger of losing it, because blues won't push it out. I get to play uninterrupted.
I get to play uninterrupted until I'm done playing for the night, at which point I take one last trip to the tower to claim or dismantle my Legendary loot, dismantling anything I don't want to keep, vaulting the things I do want to keep.
Simple
Easy
Logical
And best of all
I get to play uninterrupted
So I ask again, Is there a reason for constantly having to interrupting our game to do it manually?

The reason bungie does this is easy. It is for you to keep "playing" while not earning rewards. You need to do maintenance, run here, pick this up, do that thing, delete your blues, convert this material to that. it all takes time and takes you away from playing the actual game part of tthe game. This means they have less actual content to have to produce while you are on the hamster wheel.

1 返信LikwiD_SmOkE22により編集済み: 8/15/2022 4:34:50 AMThis is hysterical... reading through the comments besides maybe one or two people trying to have an actual conversation about this all the responses are nearly identical.. "hurr durr just delete them" "you delete legendary items what's the big deal?" "Just use dim" "just go to the tower" "just use the companion app" .. like why are you guys arguing against someone wanting THE OPTION to have auto dismantle blue engrams? It's absolutely baffling that people are arguing against something that would benefit everybody if they chose to use the option if it were available. At the very least this should be a thing automatically when people hit the power cap. Sorry but I absolutely hate seeing blue engrams drop especially at pinnacle cap. They serve absolutely no purpose other than to irritate players. A legendary you might get something good here and there. Blue engrams serve zero purpose for players who are at power or pinnacle cap.

11 通の返信I genuinely do not understand the intent behind the arguments against better blue drop or inventory management options. Are people jealous that others have so much stuff that it goes to the post master? Do they truly find dismantling blues to be fun, and engaging content? Do they not know that we had a similar system in D1 to delete irrelevant gear? Is the destiny community filled with nothing but hoarders or minimalists with no sensible people in between? Blues are a problem, and even when you are diligent and delete them like OP, inevitably there's going to be some that drop from ads a blueberry killed that you never even see, and they go to your post, and potentially push things out. Even if you're taking materials out of that equation, what about any legendaries you haven't seen the roll of yet? Having even the simplest of rarity hierarchies for postmaster deletion would not only be a QoL addition, but also just makes sense. So which is it... Do you like wasting time deleting useless gear? Are you jealous that other people have stuff? Or do you just like trying to control how people play a video game?

31 通の返信The entire premise is false, “play uninterrupted”? So what, you don’t get legendaries or exotics? Oh that’s right, you do. And what do you do with them? Dismantle them. So gee golly, even with auto dismantling of blues you still need to stop and take time to do inventory management. So stop with the silly nonsense.

I just want to stop having to visit the post master just to delete blues. Even Stranger of Paradise has an auto dismantle option and you can even set it to any rarity or if your especially picky has lower stats than what you've selected.

Doing a dungeon, GM nightfall, strikes or anything more than once can generate 10+ blues, legendary gear and countless engrams that need managing. This is great when you're leveling up but pretty useless when you're not. I lost my shards because I picked up 12 blues, some engrams, some materials, and legendary stuff doing a public event and a lost sector three times. Why materials are showing up in the postmaster is odd since I'm no where near a cap on any of them. Now I have to check in between loading activities and re-arrange stuff which is unnecessary and takes away from game play. An auto dismantle feature, increased postmaster slots, or the ability to move shards and materials to inventory or the vault would keep the game flowing.

Useless blue engrams need an option to auto dismantle as this is long overdue and was a feature in D1 for useless greens Guessing they won’t do it as bungie is all about inflating player time on the server Should not have to go to the tower after running 3 activities or use my phone to constantly empty the “garbage master”

52 通の返信You will never play uninterrupted in a loot game. Having to manage your inventory is a basic necessity of the game. Blues still serve a necessary function in the game.

1 返信Make it optional for people who are still leveling and there are some that I would like to keep.
nibbles crayon
6 通の返信I don’t get why people are against an auto dismantle option. I get that blues aren’t the biggest problem but why have the problem at all when it can so easily be fixed?
-
Because they want to give to illusion of rewards. If they didnt players would realize they are running the game for absolutely no loot or reason. Which is exactly what’s happening when you’re playing and keeping 1-2 drops out of hundreds

1 返信They need to add a conditional auto delete preference that you can enable or disable. Basically you specify a light level, and any blue equal or lower than this gets deleted automagically. But Bungle's UX and QOL skills are completely lacking. We still have to buy materials one button press at a time, instead of specifying we want to buy, sell or delete multiple items at a button press.

2 通の返信TheShadowにより編集済み: 8/14/2022 7:31:44 PM
Is there a reason for constantly having to interrupting our game to do it manually?
Yes, and it's gotten a hell of a lot worse since Bungie has been on their own that when players actually look at the game, the list of things Bungie has done adds up to a hell of a lot of unnecessary padded playtime, and they keep looking for more ways to add that padded playtime. It's a huge part of the reason I stopped playing among a few other things. The constant reset each season The Gunsmith, the ranking that was increased Deliberately designing loot pools to be garbage Throttling bounties, quest Refusing to allow player customization that you have to delete your character to change certain things, etc... Or, how about (how Bungie uses the postmaster as storage at times not allowing us to dismantle all at once.) Yet you get the lame comments knowing this game is flooded with junk loot. "stop using the postmaster as storage" 🤦♂️ I can make a huge, and I mean a huge list of BS Bungie does in D2 to keep players playing and that is the main reason there are so many stupid decisions made from this business. Too bad it's not a company that knows how to make a quality type of game that they ended up relying on that BS.

1 返信This entire system or shall I say foundation, is based off of Greys/Blues. To speak of "lets get an option to just switch on or off" I have a hunch here, it would take an act of God considering this Game Engine to make that happen flawlessly. First we need a whiteboard meeting listing out the pro's con's. This is coming from the Dev's side here not OURS. This alone would take weeks, then change the code, more weeks, then test it, more weeks etc. and so on. All this, what we are asking for, isn't as simple as it sounds we all know this by now. New light pops in, first ghost res and what color is the gear you have? The first weapon you get, the second weapon. Then the chest from the spider tank? Ken Doll gives you a blue hand cannon and it starts! A New light survives off of blues for a very very long time. Vets use them for numerous reasons whether we accept that fact or not. Not to mention the system to level up Banshee is more than likely based off of blues for crying out loud. My point is, a switch on or off would be grand indeed but careful what we are asking for here or we may end up with blues being a main stay for all of us and Legendries become rare drops LOL. Maybe one day Bungie can come up with an idea on how to make this work but I have a feeling it wont be anytime soon.

Imo, there should be an automatic dismantle option for blues once you reach the powerful cap since blues just do absolutely nothing from that point other than serve as a +1 to gunsmith rep (which is immediately succeeded by daily bounties and legendary/exotic drops). Either do that, or just turn blues into powerful/pinnacle drops too so there is a better incentive at using them for more than glimmer and a tiny bit of rep.
