pay for upgradable event card is scummy.
We already paid for deluxe edition witch queen. We should not have to pay for anything else during the season that applies to seasonal activities.

Leave it to Bungle to focus their efforts on monetizing the game more, even tho much of it is broken and a lot is unfinished (no ingame matchmaking for half the content, and no ingame mechanism or planning to teach players all the mechanics to do raids, dungeons, etc.) Stoopid Bungie leaves it to frakkin youtubers to make videos on how their broke game is supposed to be played!

2 通の返信You don’t deserve anything for free. Just be glad you got for free what you did get for free. It’s one of the largest free samples I’ve ever seen. Destiny and everything inside of it is a product, and products cost money.

Maybe play a game that has a business model that you like or just expect to pay for eververse items later? Most of that stuff is free with dust. If you don't like to pay real money, just play a bunch....

Instead of getting better, they paywall lfg to push their carry ads and lock actual content behind eververse, already on top of the quarterly & annual fees you still pay. Now they're literally dangling a carrot in front of you by giving you currency, but then having to pay Tess to spend it.

To be fair it’s nuanced. Who ever complained about “skin xyz” in Warzone costing $10 right? Bungie unfortunately lacks the talent of Activision when it comes to cash grabbing.

The sad thing is, players don't care about paying for less, but they also don't care for wanting more. Bungie has conditioned a good portion of the player base to accept whatever they throw at them that this isn't even a company anymore. It's a business that is looking for more ways to make a profit, vs creating a quality type of game that would increase that profit they are currently making. Destiny used to be designed for the player base as well as for Bungie to an extent. Now it's just all about what Bungie wants. It's why I stopped buying the seasons a while back, and why I haven't played in a little while. After Activision left, that left a lot of poor quality work and way overdone padded play time that is constantly being added to the game. It's all done because Bungie doesn't want to invest our money into the game.

I love destiny and like Bungie. But seeing year on year. Additional ways to rip cash from the stagnant fan base is frustrating. If the new light experience was actually enjoyable and not a broken, confusing mess. There would be more new light retention. Creating more users and generating more funds. But atm it seems like another route to squeeze as much out of the current playerbase that simply isn’t rising.

6 通の返信Pro tip : Don't buy the event card. The armor looks ridiculously ugly imo. And the ships are usually ugly with solstice, nobody uses them ever. Bungie already shot themselves in their feet with this design, lmao. Maybe they are testing how ugly they can go with armor design in order to see if we're still willing to buy it

15 通の返信Again this is double dipping in the pockets of paying customers. You can justify this for F2P players but not for Deluxe edition players. It's a subtraction of value of those paying players set by precedent. It sets up a terrible new precedent. And if this works out not financially beneficial then it will be slippery slope increasingly diverting and repositioning any desirable items out of the regular pool, to the pay-extra-extra-extra pool. Watch it happen.

53 通の返信The thing people aren't realizing is this is the whole give an inch take a mile. They gave us dares and a dungeon then used it as an excuse to strip it from the seasonal model. So what next? 5 extra bucks you can do the seasonal event activity? We can sit here and act like this is nothing but when we do that's when they rip the rug from under you. I am not thrilled by this change at all and I am someone who will use silver in the game. I play the game enough to justify my purchase choices but still. This feels a bit... tom fooleryish.

The beauty of it is that it’s just cosmetics. It’s just a way to drive sales as Bungie probably saw the dip in eververse sales for the last event. Complain and don’t buy it and it’ll likely go away. It’s scummy but it’s proof that not buy stuff seems to be working in the long term.
