It might make mistakes and for someone like me if I were to be accused mistakenly that would be completely unacceptable. To the point where whoever thought something like that was a good idea would need to be drug in front of congress to explain how it worked. Cheating goes a-gainst the Precepts. To be wrongfully accused of cheating also goes a-gainst the Precepts.

Ironically the last time I tried to explain how the mods work. Some overzealous moderator accuse me of that very thing. There are a number of papers on keyboard biometrics. “The "dwell time" between pressing a key down and letting it up, as well as the "flight times" between one key down and the next key down and one key up and the next key up, produce a rhythm unique to the individual.” PC Mag The same principles could be applied to controllers. The automated inputs would be easily distinguishable from human inputs. If the console makers gave a damn it would be built int to firmware. As far as detection goes I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t take action without some sort of human intervention.

A_moにより編集済み: 7/9/2022 6:14:13 PMI just don't think that much trust should be placed in an automated system like that. If for no other reason than because once it starts identifying people if it starts identifying people wrong those people can then look at certain similarities they share and some pretty big problems could result from that. It could be made to look like a witch hunt pretty easily and in a lot of ways. Some more preposterous than others but the ultimate result would be time consuming nonetheless. This game has a whole lot of other things it should be focusing on and one of the reasons why so many people think there's so much controller cheating is actually one of the biggest issues this game has. People wouldn't think there is as much controller cheating in the first place were it not for the extent to which this game relies on automated systems to do things.

Bungie’s already identifies people and their devices, not only that but they collect data and sell it to Google, Twitter and Twitch to name a few. The Companion app attempts to identify and pull data from every device on your network. Don’t believe me read the privacy statement. I know several people who use modded controls and I know how they work they’re a huge problem.

A_moにより編集済み: 7/9/2022 7:28:35 PMPretty much all the internet overlords share data with each other. That doesn't really have all that much to do with controller stuff. Plus it would be really questionable to say that someone has developed something that could tell the difference between people wiggling their thumbs and actual cheating. What would something like that even be developed in reference to? Its basically the same as lie detectors not being admissible in court. There'd also be a question of who they were really trying to get rid of by using something like that and why. All these questions and more would take too much time and effort to answer that could be put into making the game better. Plus this game already does stuff during the matches that could be framed as doing it to make people appear to be cheating. So all it would really take is accusing someone that wasn't doing something wrong and all these haters you see all over this forum would finally have something true to complain about. It would just have far too much potential to turn into a big mess. The game isn't all that competitive to begin with and I do actually question how much benefit anyone using those controllers would actually be getting. With the way this game works they're much more likely to be screwing other peoples' gameplay up than helping themselves. And when the matches are over the results end up what they were going to be no matter what. So maybe the people you know really don't know all that much about what they're actually playing to begin with.
