I just watched my son play 2 games of control and there were 3 players cheating in 2 matches. He asked me to come watch because he was so focused he wanted an impartial set of eyes. And YES they were cheating. There also seems to be some sort of a lag players have figured out that is allowing them to rubberband when they want to and turn it off when they dont need it.

You hit the net limiter and you can deposit unlimited motes in GoS or unlimited orbs in Scourge. Anywhere you can bank, a net limiter can break it. I've seen it used for out of bounds skips too. I've never used one personally, but I've been in groups with people who have in PvE. If someone used it in PvP, it would do that kind of stuff. Rubber banding on command and other internet lag issues.

I’ve seen this in Gambit quite a bit. I go over wipe the entire team and before I get back they drop 80 motes, of which is impossible. During that same match when one of their team members invaded us. He literally just floated through the air while stuck in a crouching animation and one shot every one. I reported him and a week later I got a notice that Bungie nabbed him. People like that just create a new account and start all over.

Yep, 80 motes all at once is definitely a net limiter. Glad they got banned. Personally, I don't care when I see it during PvE because it's not hurting anyone but yeah, I would definitely report it in PvP like crucible or gambit. That's not cool.

AbsolutZeroGIにより編集済み: 7/6/2022 1:47:47 AMYeah. It's a legitimate tool for networking, usually people use it to limit how fast or slow an app can be on the network. You set a preset for D2 that knocks it down to like 50kbps, flick the switch, and bam, you're a lagging ghost. If it's used too long you'll DC, tho, so that's why they usually only do it for 10-15 seconds at a time. Probably by battleye can't detect it. It's technically not a cheat (as in, cheating isn't its intended purpose), but you can use it to cheat.

I had a laggy f ing match this past weekend. I was playing trials with two Pc guys and even they said the other team was there at one point and gone the next. I literally was dying 5 seconds late, thinking I’m over here getting cover. We beat them though but still, I reported them immediately for network manipulation and I guess they weren’t on since that match. It didn’t start until we beat them at round 1-2.
