Going on 1 month just needing a helmet for my Titan. It's trivial to me in the grand scheme, I'm Grandmaster ready regardless, but I stray away from playing my Titan because all the drops will be under cap. This season is going on week 7, should it take 7 weeks to prepare to participate in a season that only lasts twice as long? I have many friends who are end gamers, long time fans of this franchise, yet they will not be running GM's with me because they aren't allowed to. They don't have the time this season to pray to RNG that the pinnacles will be worth their time. Point in case, I've done almost everything possible to get my Titan capped out and all that drops are arms. I have enough arms to infuse my entire vault, yet no helmet. Reward the players that stick with the game. If I'm capped out after Witch Queen, it should not take 80 hours to enjoy the following season I payed for.

I just want Bungie to get rid of RNG leveling entirely. They could: Make it so the reward will always drop the lowest slot of armor piece/ weapon slot Add focusing to the pinnacle system. Get an engram from doing a pinnacle activity and spend currency to be a specific thing. Just HAVE A currency without the engram and have a vendor who gives out pinnacles so we can choose what we need. This currency would drop from anywhere in the game. The harder the activity, the more you get on completion. Make it so that getting to a major rank on anything that has a ranking system in the game grant a pinnacle. This would enhance the "play your own way" idea. Etc etc. RNG leveling just needs to go. There needs to be a definite understanding of how much work needs to be done in order to get to light level A to light level B. And not to PRAY that you're not going to get a duplicate.

They won't do it because then you would no longer have to drudge through the mindless grind of doing mundane content to get pinnacles sooner, which makes Bungie's numbers looked inflated as far as activity participation.

Asking bungie to put in protections for bad luck pinnacle drops is like asking the Casino to put in protections so it makes the money you wasted cause of bad luck seems less bad. They’ll never do it man.

This brings me back to an earlier season where i also needed a helmet for the pinnacle cap. Can't remember which season , but it was one that was extended for some reason. On the day the season was originally supposed to finish i still hadn't got the helmet to drop ,so RNG had stopped me from reaching the cap if it had finished on time. When the helmet needed eventually dropped ,it had taken 56 pinnacle drops to get it.

Why add extra coding when they could remove the coding that creates the “bad luck”. They could start by making it actually RNG, rather than OBVIOUSLY trend towards same in slot drops. Everyone knows this is the case. It’s a pathetic, disappointing, disrespectful waste of the customer’s time. What I’ve found is, if you get two items in the same slot in a row, wait 15 to 30 minutes before trying to decrypt or earn a Pinnacle. It’s like there is a cycling or rotating set of available drops at a time, like at one point during an hour only chest pieces, boots and a certain weapon slot are available, then at some undetermined point in time, it introduces a new set of drops. This system ensures that if you are decrypting several rewards in a row that there is a good chance that you will receive duplicates in slot, which are worth nothing more than legendary shards. I can talk at length about this but honestly it’s just exhausting even thinking about it. The bottom line is this, the end result is that many players who are in my clan don’t even engage with trying to level their character up beyond the seasonal model. Beyond being able to get into endgame activities, who wants to engage with broken or stunted mechanics, that contradict the very essence of the game.

Not to mention the Pinnacles are the exact same things as last season! (IE: Preservation, Vox, 3 Strikes as same subclass as burn, etc) They could have at least changed it a little bit! (IE: Vox completions instead of champ farming).

Thank you for contacting -blam!- Gee. We're sorry you've had such bad luck. We have received the same complaint for years now. Since you said please, no. Hell no. Go grind more. Quit your job. Absolute dedication is the only way.

I'm not sure we need bad luck protection as much as we need true rng for each pinnacle. Why the ritual activities all continue to drop the same type of item all week long for years now is beyond me. Bungie has rigged it. There is no other way this could happen. They need to un-rig it, but then the grind would end earlier.
