End of Destiny 2, transition to Destiny 3?
It seems that Bungie wants to end the light and darkness saga with the next two expansions after Witch-queen, but my question is without light and darkness what is Destiny, and what would the content look like in Destiny 3?
I don’t feel we have explored the darkness enough so I believe an entire new Destiny game can be made to allow us to do this..see where I am going with this.
An unprecedented thing will happen, by the last Destiny 2 expansion. The guardian will realize the darkness is an impossible foe and all their past efforts was futile and another collapse is imminent, the usual pattern you know. However, this time the Witness seeks a deal in private with our guardian, that the last city and humankind will be spared only if the guardian becomes a disciple, this will be the scene for Destiny 3…the pyramids retreat, the traveler stays, and the city parades the guardian but the guardian does not seem too giddy..
For the technicalities, our Guardian can’t be secretly corrupt and take on whatever challenges come up I assume deal with fallen, Cabal, and Vex primarily in Destiny 3. I believe the deal can’t be as simple as the Guardian turns to Darkness, so I believe the Witness elaborates on the deal saying that the disciple won’t be our guardian but an alter-ego plucked from another timeline, (the one from end of Garden of Salvation) and who embraced the darkness. This new alter-ego will be playable in Destiny 3, and this ‘guardian’ will change the Destiny playing experience. As the player we will momentarily leave our light bearer guardian behind safeguarding the last city against the monotonous vex, fallen, cabal..blah blah blah; while the alter ego darkness-bearer would not be a guardian, although intends to protect humanity at all costs, albeit in a unorthodox and independent way. As opposed to ‘guardian’ this will be an ‘attacker’ (for lack of better words) and they will go on and explore the universe and strengthen their darkness via sword logic, and if corrupt enough, going as far as decimating entire races and planets for the sake of taking strength . Our attacker will be the strongest darkness-bearer among the ranks of the disciples.
As this attacker grows more corrupt, things are done in the interest of the witness more rather than humanity, this is where our original guardian intercedes, with the help of the stranger, and using vex-time technology they communicate with the alter ego from another reality, where they still did not get corrupt yet. They convince that alter-ego to grow strong only in order to dethrone the witness and so they do. With the witnesses powers they the attacker then merged the two realities together one where the last city survives and another where the witness is dethroned, however in using the witnesses powers the attacker discovers the meaning of everything, and the origin of the light and darkness as he senses them..yes 4th dimensional beings who desire to take back the light and darkness that the witness robbed in the first place..

Once again, as it was stated for a long time, there will be NO Destiny 3 instead Destiny 2 has become an ever evolving game that (as bungie hope) will be here for DECADES and i love this idea soo stop with this nonsense about Destiny 3 i know some of you are new Lights but we all have access to google there is not a Day when someone does not post theyrs idea about Destiny 3. Soo, no Destiny 3 instead evolving world with new dlc each year that will replace the oldest one that means there will be more vaulting and more content to be added. And if you are to -blam!- around about vaulting May i sugges for you to remember(if you were there around that time) about Victory of our community about Sunsetting Weapons and Armour? We were not supposed to keep our gear for more than an year. Yes we have lost recluse and mountaintop but guys seriously those weapons were op AF why create new ones if EVERYONE was running for those.

With respect, I think your view is a result of being somewhat new to the game. Over the course of the years of the franchise, we have actually explored the Darkness quite extensively....and arguably we know more about what the Darkness is and how it operates in many ways more than we understand about the Light. I don't want to give too much away, because I don't want to ruin the experience for you (or anyone else). But I think what you're seeing right now is a glimpse into the future. Multiple species working together in common cause (Our alliance of humans, Awoken, Cabal and Fallen)....and Guardians capable of wielding both the Light and the Darkness. As the conflict is less of one of one "tribe" against another....or even one power against another.... But instead a conflict between what one chooses to DO with those powers.

1 返信Is there even going to be a destiny 3? Destiny was supposed to be a 10 year journey. Pretty sure we’re very close to that 10 year stint

Not really in the lorebook Unveiling paracausality was changed so that it’s going to exist even after the two gods are dead. So that means post dark and light there’s gonna be other types of powers. They could just about anything up. D1 Lore, Dreams of Alpha Lupi specifically, mentioned that there is physical material that could bend reality, it’s a known science-fiction material so it’s not real. So there’s always that avenue to where even non-para causal entities could develop an ability/device to use paracausal power. So we don’t need the Darkness to survive for the game to keep going. In fact it’s going to end how the original storyline was going to.

Keep in mind that we have glimpsed the (a?) future where Saint-14 gives the eulogy at our Guardian’s funeral. While it’s possible this would be how the devs decide to tie up the Light/Dark saga in [b]Final Shape[/b] before taking Destiny in a slightly different direction, I wouldn’t put it past them for this to be a plot point with our Guardian suffering their “final death” midway through the [b]Light Fall[/b] campaign only to be resurrected through either Throne World shenanigans or Ahamkara Wish nonsense (Riven is the last [i]known[/i] Ahamkara, after all). I feel like a new game called Destiny 3 is an utopia in this franchise. They are just throwing content at us hoping we would eat it all up, the problem is that we do, because we are always expecting that the new DLC or new game is THE ultimate content of Destiny. I think they should just focus on building bridges between all the dlcs. When something new drops, it really feels like it just hapened from nothing, much like The Witch Queen, Cabal War, Siva problem, which was explained on Destiny 2 on the second expansion, like that problem was explained they should explore more things referring the past of the guardian and the destiny universe (I'm not following the story since the Forsaken dlc, btw). I played D1 and I know there is A LOT of content that made this universe like the apocalyptic world that our MC was ressurected from, in that Russian soil. They should explore each variable. I really believe that if Bungie brings back a trailer referring to D1, much like they did in VOG (which I bet was a complete downfall), will bring a lot of people's attention, but to not fall on boredom, making the content unique in its own way is a must. They need to ressurect this game asap, in order to do that I really think they should sit down and think at what times the game was on rise mode, if they're not bringing back content at least study why were we so enveloped in that specific dlc or game expansion. This company should really make this game lore and story focused rather than a PVP shooter. PVP should be a balanced game, where you bring your weapons to the field and you only have access to the weapons you bring, but once people enter the ring the specs of each weapon must be changed to a version where it is balanced in its own way, upgrades wouldn't work on PVP, every weapon is nerfed to a point where using it becomes more of a skill rather than having it fully upgraded and making a two headshot on someone.We are guardians, our gear is super futuristic and we fall so easily on crucible. It should be more team tactic focused than rewarding players going around the field killing everyone they encounter. On the other hand, keep the system of upgrading gear and weapons on PVE and making hard activities harder for lesser light players, as it makes them grind and develop their own path. Make unique rewards for players who can finish that type of activity. Each planet or ecossystem has ther unique type of weapons and gear. Bring back factions and unique factions gear and weapons, maybe even like factions wars on crucible. Factions benefits and disadvantages should be a thing. Maybe even story related to each type of faction. Nightfalls should be an activity restricted to high risk, high reward activity, teamwork based, time focused based, reward players with high gear, weapons, and maybe make activities inside the Nightfall, like secrets and such, maybe hidden cutscenes. I don't know, the key here is make something unique, but with the OG content merged with the D2 content and newer content. Sorry for the wall text, but I agree with you in developing the light vs darkness conflict more, as it is the main feature and slogan of the game.
