1. The speaker had special abilities, and all other speakers are dead. (Read constellations lore book for more on speaker.) 2. She's probably considered beautiful because of her strength and courage. 3. Ghosts can switch, happened twice that I know of, but I don't think they can switch to a former lightbearer. Probably why Eris doesn't have a new ghost either.
