(Edited per feedback) I'm 65 hours into the season (we're also a month into it) and there are still weapons I need 4/5 redlines to craft. I've done opulent key runs, almost done with all triumphs related to the 6 person event and season that aren't time gated but the RNG plus how crafting is just isn't sitting well. If all craftable weapons dropped as redlined it would be fine based on the drop rates I'm getting. Since then I would still have to level those 5, craft than relevel again to get the perks I want. This system still needs work. I have all the CoS focusing unlocks and burn those at reset. noted that Epicurean and Fixed Odds are only dungeon drops and therefore not able to focus into.
update - some great conversations and feedback below, thanks everyone
notes -
1) Deepsight Protection has come up as a possibility, if you have crafted a weapon then your weekly Crown random Sever or Opulent key would not be one of those
2) Opulent Keys more than 1, definitely hearing this below
3) 5 redlines being static combinations to try out, so those first 5 are good possible ones you may want to craft into, I got a Drang combo that I wouldn't have thought to do but it will be what I will craft into now
4) initial crafting at higher levels but using more materials, example: finally crafting prior season weapon however using 6000 resonance and 2-3 ascendant alloy, seems like a good catch up also if you acquire a pattern late in a season
5) post craft leveling, possible additional consumable or mod you can slot so crafted weapons used gain more xp, also just more xp in general for certain activities
Thanks everyone

Why are you surprised? I am 80 hours in on the new season and only have 1 of the opulent weapons craftable. I literally called it as soon as they announced crafting is coming. Grind fiesta and sitting at shuro-chi cp for hours upon hours. Why are people still surprised literally every change this company makes is for the worse. Next will be an awesome appearance change system BUT you will have to grind 805106541651501541564 hours for materials or spend 50 bucks for an eyebrow change.

11 通の返信I think the crafting is fine. This isn't something that should be done in one week. It should take time to acquire the weapon and it should take time to level the weapon up. It's people like this, that demand things be achievable within one week, then on the other hand complain that there is nothing to do in the game.

i agree is too much, yesterday i really took a deep breath and dive into leviathan got i think 6 maybe keys, first key was an adored red border, i was wtf lol, after that no luck, the last key was the side arm with red border, what is pisssing me off even more is find that guy "Ky'leks the docked", everytime i go there all i see is Evox, is this bad luck?

5 通の返信CozMcKilljoyにより編集済み: 6/16/2022 2:18:47 AMI honestly can’t stand how long it takes to level these things. Unless they do crazy AOE and have infinite ammo, it just takes way too long.

3 通の返信It barely feels like a crafting system. The chalice system from season of opulence felt more like crating than what we have. If your RNG sucks it will take you 5 weeks just to get one pattern for a seasonal or opulent weapon. Then when you do get the pattern you have to use an undesirable roll until you level the weapon up to swap out the stats. Booooring system. You can only work towards something once you get the 5 deep sight versions. But you have so little control on getting deep sight versions because their drop rates are always so low. Another system in this game with a horrible sense of progression.

6 通の返信whateverman7により編集済み: 6/16/2022 5:38:49 PMWhile the number may suck, I dont think getting red borders is an issue. After getting 1 of a weapon to drop (red border or not), they tend to drop regularly. And getting enough to craft a weapon happens quickly, especially after leveling up the seasonal whatever (this season, crown). The only thing about crafting that sucks to me is how much time it takes to level up weapons after crafting them. That part is extremely slow and takes you using said weapon exclusive for awhile, which isnt fun. There should be a way to level them up faster to unlock the perks. Whether it's getting extra xp for using them in whatever activity gets extra xp that week, a consumable that lasts for a couple hours giving extra xp towards them, something. The fact we dont have something to help us and that it takes so long is another example of bungie making the game extra grindy when there is no need for it. They really need to believe in their own product and realize they dont need to 'force' people to play a lot, it'll happen anyway.

11 通の返信You're entitled. Crafting is supposed to be difficult. Otherwise, it would destroy the loot system. Destiny is already beginning to show signs of this. If you need a godroll submachine gun then just wait once a week to get a Deepsight weapon from the wartable.

Honestly, I’m pretty happy with the system outside of the whole getting the deepsight weapons in the first place. I’ve already given up that I’ll probably never craft the two tied to the dungeon as there’s no way of guaranteeing a red box like there is in Vow. I still have yet to get a single Epicurean after 8 runs. Reduce the number of deepsights required to unlock or increase the deepsight drop rate for specific weapons in specific activities. 4 weeks in and I am still not over 3/5 frames on any gun. I’m not doing any hardcore grinding, but I’ve reset my Crown Rank once and am about to do so again. Thought Bungie had learned this with the Wellspring frames last season. These are even worse as they require 5 frames instead of 2 or 3.

1 返信Honestly, I've thought of a rework to crafting with all weapons being level based with a level 10 can enhance perks that when enhanced can customize on a deepsight weapon when its perks are enhanced. But I already made a forum on the details, and I rather not repeat myself again.

1 返信Crafted the mini tool. Took it to lvl 21. Put 3 enhanced/intrinsic perks on it. Range, Unrelenting & Incandescent. Shaped the weapon. No Masterwork gold border around it. Is this a bug or am I missing something?
-
its past the previous season, and I still don't have all the weapons crafteable from last season and I play in the top 1% of players. There are three that I am missing and one of them is a world drop for the grenade launcher. This season, they up your target number to find those red borders and lower the chances of them dropping in what is now becoming a boring grin on the Leviathan. Meanwhile, you get a billion riptides and none of the vanguard weapons to drop. We wanted a simple crafting system and instead bungie made it so convoluted they made new materials and some mechanism for us to follow etc.. WHY DOES IT ALWAYS HAVE TO BE A MESS. NOTHING EVER is just simple with bungie and always needs massive overhauls because the original was just bad.

2 通の返信My problem is: A) The drop rate for red boxes are not common enough to unlock most patterns. Look at how much I play. 1586 each character. Destiny is the only game I play lately. Most weapons I have like one of five to unlock. B) Rediculous you have to level it up to about 20 to even unlock all the perks. Enhanced perks already cost so much materials and the rare Ascendent Alloys. Why do I have to spend hours upon hours upon hours with a gun with shitty perks so that hopefully I get to a point where I can buy decent ones. Better yet, it ends up you spending most of your time with guns WITHOUT enhanced perks even though you grinded for mats to buy em... It's Destiny 1 all over again where you have Gjallarhorn, but you ain't got wolf pack rounds cause you have dozens of hours till you will unlock it. Which was wildly unpopular all the exotics without the exotic perks, which lead to Motes of Light. But sure. Lets take one step forward and two steps back cause that's what Bungie always does and always will do.

1 返信One idea I had was that you could craft a a gun at a higher level for more materials. So crafting a level 1 gun is whatever, 750. But then being able to craft it at level 16 lets say for 6000, and 2 ascendant alloy, would be great. That way if you had a stack of materials you can skip the leveling process. Right now I have 9K materials and 15 ascendant alloy. It's just sitting there as I have nothing to craft.

21 通の返信The Hermit IXにより編集済み: 6/16/2022 7:15:27 AMHonestly I think it’s vastly improved except in a couple areas. The good 1) Since GG I’ve had a sharp increase with ascendent alloy. I have a full stack of 10 and more sitting in my post master. This was an ongoing issue that I think has been resolved. Events drop them, you can earn them through containment and sever and as rewards for reputation ranks. They’re no longer locked behind difficult content with low drop rates. 2) They’ve simplified materials involved and it’s much more steam lined and easier. You’re tracking and collecting a few things to craft and it’s much easier to gain them. 3) They’ve increased world drop deep sight weapons. I constantly get them and I’m never out of mats. 4) They’ve sped up the process of completing deep sight weapons. It feels much better and way less of chore to complete them. 5) Way more interesting weapons to craft this season. Austringer, mini, new glaive, beloved etc are far more superior versions of the older ones and the new ones like the trace rifle have an excellent perk pool for builds. The issue for me isn’t getting the patterns done but instead the high cost of opulent energy to focus. Most of the time when I load in containment I’m not finding active players. It slows the process down to a crawl and is annoying. I’ve crafted an Austringer and now I’m crafting mini tool. I have the deep sights in my vault for trace rifle, AR, RL etc to craft them. I’m almost there with beloved and the glaive just doesn’t drop for me so it will be focusing. The bad that should be patched 1) I don’t mind putting grind in to get the patterns unlocked but they need to have opulent energy drop in other activities to solve the big problem this season. 2) There’s no need to keep the limit of one key. I think we should be able to hold 3 keys not 1 for chests. The time to grind the keys doesn’t change the fact it takes 1 minute to run to the chest. So why gate it with a one key limit. I honestly I think with those two improvements, the process will feel much better.

1 返信I would have much rather had an armor crafting system since getting the right rolls on armor is much more difficult than getting the right rolls on weapons.

I'd be somewhat OK with it if the first 5 were guaranteed to be craftable and afterwards they would drop randomly. Then you would try out some perks and head to the crafting table. Right now you probably have your god roll already by means of random perks before you have the chance to start off with dogshit ones and have to grind for eternity (again) to get your weapon in decent shape. I'd say: 1. First 3 or 5, or whatever the limit, should be guaranteed redbox rolls. Afterwards it may be random. 2. Leveling up the weapon should go somewhat faster (ghost mod?). 3. You should be able to perma-unlock perks/barrels or be able to unlock a second slot. Nobody is going to craft 2 versions of the same weapon right now, just to have a regular/vorpal one for instance.
