it's not.
If you complete the weekly activity like Vanguard Strikes, your light level is going up.
The RNG is the perks on what gets dropped, That Pinnacle gear number, that number is added to your light level.
it's not. If you complete the weekly activity like Vanguard Strikes, your light level is going up. The RNG is the perks on what gets dropped, That Pinnacle gear number, that number is added to your light level.
I don’t think you understand his post. He’s talking about receiving duplicate pinnacle items that don’t boost progression. Ie, doing strikes, gambit, crucible and getting a 1560 chest piece every time. That is what the OP is talking about.
-
but he doesn't understand how the light level works. Doing an activity raises the light level. You can wear pants from the past season, and it will lower your light level, but every prime engram you get has a higher light level because of the pinnacle activies.
-
there's a lot of bullet sponge champions that suck -blam!- also. But you're right, if the activity is that, than yeah, I'd give have sympathy, but that's the end game, you tweak your character so they can do grandmaster.
-
You are the one who has no idea how the system works. You're obviously brand new. You still think "powerful" and "pinnacle" are the same. Prime engrams are not pinnacle. They are powerful. This season they cap at 1560 or your average gear level, whichever is higher. Pinnacles this season cap at 1570, but drop +2 above your average gear level, except for strikes, Gambit, crucible, and clan. Those are +1. Why you believe you understand the system is beyond me when your response shows you don't even have a remedial grasp of it.
-
I'm trying to simplify it. Any activity you're doing is building the light level. Powerful engrams do increase your power, pinnacles do it faster. When you finish your activity for the week your light level raises it. Just insulting people doesn't make it so.

Again, he’s not talking about HOW to get higher pinnacles. He’s talking about the pinnacles that do drop, serve no progression because they are the same armor piece. If I have 1560 arms, and do 3 pinnacle activities, get 3 1560 arms, do I gain progression? We aren’t talking about engrams or anything but pinnacle drops from pinnacle activities.

the dude is at a higher light level? so? My main is about 1567.4/8th light level. I'm being honest, the Bungie account is saying with the artifact. Look, he's intentionally saying a lot of misleading statements of how the systems work. I'm trying to be as simple as possible. You do the activity and it's increasing your light level. PERIOD, just because the drops are 3 hats, doesn't mean the light level is set to the hats. The RNG are the perks and the stats, not the light level. You can clearly count the light level going up from the prime engrams you collect in your inventory. People are getting angry for no reason.
-
Your artifact power level has nothing to do with your gear power level, they are completely independent from each other. Artifact level increases because of experience gains in any activity. Gear power level ONLY increases by dropping pinnacle gear after your gear gets to 1560. Those drops only come from pinnacle activities. You are confusing the 2 things to an extent that you think that whatever activity you do, you gain power to increase your gear power. Sorry bro, but experience only adds to artifact power level. Gear power level can only be increased with pinnacle drops. If my gear power lvl is 1566, and my arms (for example), are my highest piece at 1568, then if I drop arms again and again and again then I will gain NO advantage from those drops, as they will all be 1568. That is why, when you hover your cursor over your power level in game, it tells you how much power level is from artifact and how much from gear. Simple as that.

We aren’t counting artifact levels. When people say PINNACLE, we aren’t counting artifact because we know it boosts your light level by doing anything. AGAIN, if I do 3 pinnacle activities and get 3 1560 arms I gain no progression outside of the artifact. Do you understand now? 3 strikes, I get 1560 arms, 3 gambit matches, I get 1560 arms, 3 crucible matches, I get 1560 arms. That is the issue OP is talking about. I’m sure you can do math, so if I’m doing pinnacles and I get nothing but 1560 arms that means I get no progression. AGAIN DO NOT FORGET TO READ THIS PART, WE ARE NOT TALKING ABOUT ARTIFACT LEVEL. Like are you trolling lol??

wtf? I didn't say anything about artifact. I was explaining my light level is 1567.4/8 because you said "the guy is higher light level than you." calm down man, if guy is doing pinnacle activities and getting 1560 then he should report it. Screenshot it, and post it on the error section. Seriously calm down, if you think this is troll, I'm sorry dude, but like I know what I'm talking about, and I'm being as simple as possible. You guys need to chill the f out.

Screams troll or incompetent.
I didn't scream anything at all, you're the one who did all caps. There are alternative APIs that help track a players light level https://app.destinyitemmanager.com/
I’m 1569 without the artifact, but the game keeps giving me 1570 items that aren’t what I need to be 1570. That is the whole point of the OP. Doing activities doesn’t boost light, it’s the pinnacle drops. Do you understand now?
-
if it's that simple, yeah.
It is that simple. People trying to reach max pinnacle light but keep getting duplicates. Doesn’t matter how many activities you do, a duplicate will prevent you from getting max light. Do you understand now???
