Because they WANT to enjoy it, but can’t. So they hope their small voice can be heard by the decision makers to fix it so they can enjoy it again.
Or you know, they are addicted and Bungie exploiting brain biology for profit. 🤷🏻♂️
if the first is true then that pretty close to Stockholm syndrome.
if the second is true then bungie is deceptively brilliant.
i wanted to enjoy COD, i wanted to enjoy dead by daylight . i use to stream dbd every day for hours a few years ago. then i realized as much as i wanted to enjoy my time , i just wasnt .
i think this stems from the time investment , the people most effected have probably tens of thousands of hours invested in this series that if they walked away , it would make that time spent meaningless. thats my theory at least.
Very true. I have about 3000+ hours in Destiny 2.
Although I have 7000+ in GW2 (and that game doesn’t punish me for quiting for 3 years. Came back and my gear I still good and could jump right into the content without wasting time) and 20,000+ in SWTOR. SWTOR hurts because BioWare have trashed it worse then Bungie has to Destiny 2. (Then again, maybe that is a bias on my part since I like SWTOR more then Destiny 2. 🤔)
And having to come to realization that I have to slow down and play less now, it hurts and it sucks. All because of narcissists making choices that ruin it. 😞
thats true , i can agree with that . the problem i have with this community is simple . one side (and i use this term generally not specifically to either pvp or pve) sees the community as a monolith or hive mind were everyone ; in their personal belief; must all believe the same as them . the antithesis to this perspective is those who have differing ideas and no willingness to compromise.
this is why there is so much negativity here . it is a tribal us vs them mentality. pvp vs pve, streamers vs non content creators, sweats vs casuals . hell , even i dont play as much as i use too. i get up to GM level, guild my conqueror seal then leave till next season. rinse and repeat.
i wouldnt go so far as to say narcissists have a play in this, i would argue that the two side of this "debate " (the devs vs the playerbase) value 2 different things that clash
the devs are employees of a business. a businesses goal is to maximize profit
the playerbase wants something unique and creative for their money.
unfortunately, creativity is usually sacrificed on the altar of profit. these two competing ideologies are in my opinion the root cause of stagnation in terms of quality.
