Destiny 2 is not ftp , Gjallorhorn cost $30 , Witch Queen Deluxe was $100 In Conrast, Digital Extremes monetizes Cosmetics, But New War , which had more story content than Shallowkeep and Beyond Lite, was $0.00 -
Even a dev put a Twitter last night 'try destiny 2, it's free 'to get started'. That's the first time I agreed with something like that. It's not even close to free to play, it's likely one of the most expensive games on the market, but it is indeed free to get started. They hide behind the free to play title, everyone knows it isn't, not even close.

No my point here was that this dev was actually correct, it is free to get started, like a demo if you like, you can create characters n do little bits, that's getting started. The bad ones are the ones who say it's free to play, bcoz it's about as far from free to play as you could get.

Sorry, but if that's true, i'd be fine with it. Allow me to remind you that both Steam and Bungie itself on the Destiny 2 home page clearly state that the game is free to play, not free trial, free to get started or anything else.

Even the PSN store doesn't recognise it as a free game. Sure it says free but it's the only free game that still requires ps+ to play online. Start a free account, there's nothing to do after an hour or so

mrgudveseliにより編集済み: 5/20/2022 10:25:49 AM"Free to play" isn't a premise that originally came from platforms, but from Bungie.
Start a free account, there's nothing to do after an hour or so
...which is correct, and Bungie doesn't say it when a potential new players stumble upon the home page.

No what I meant by that was IF a game is free in store, the devs of that game pay the network a fee for the using their store and online service. So Activision pay Sony for having warzone on PSN store, in turn warzone doesn't require ps+. Every free game do this. Bungie refused and instead push the fee to us, the player. So you need to spend £60 a year just to be able to matchmake in destiny 2, a free game tha has £150 worth of dlc in a year, plus a microtransaction store in-game that's looked after better than the actual game is.
