The stat points that you feel are wasted actually add up. Bungie should not make the integers 1 through 9 equal 0. Bungee should do is a percentage. 69 on a stat should be tier 6 with 90% of tier 7.

  • Class Items. Make the 12 points of MW'd Class Items floaters. Instead of 2 in every stat, let us assign 6 points in the top three, 6 in the bottom.

    • To be frank everything about this game is a mess or just flat out suck. The only good thing imo is the space alien magic shooter(gameplay) that's it. Everything else is designed to make you grind endlessly with no light, and to keep the community bumping heads when the real problem is bungie. That's OK though regardless of what we say or do, they are still laughing and taking our money lol

      • Make it a point to min-max your load outs, and not Willy nilly masterworking gear you don’t like the stat distribution on. There will always be waste in a rng stat distribution, and player choice. That said I would also like to redistribute my stats, but I am happy with the load outs I created.

      • I'm going to suggest this. Get rid of light level. It's reached the point that it no longer matters. Next. Make all armors cosmetic ornaments just a place holder for mods, excepting of course exotic armors. None of them effect stats anymore. As you progress through the season and level up your artifact, one of the things that levels up is your armor tat, which increases your "mod" energy, in a linear fashion, heads, arms, body, legs, class item repeat. similarly at fixed intervals you'll receive a plus 10 stat boost. you can apply those boosts as you see fit, capping off at enough points to put all of your stats at mid tier. You can enhance this a little more by having certain weapon types enhance traits, like light weight weapons increase mobility, swords and glaives could enhance resilience, etc. and of course armor perks to increase those stats.. The point here is to allow you to build the character if as you choose... Making decisions about what is most important. For instance you can put all your points into maxing off agility, resilience, and recovery, but your abilities are going to deeply suffer for it, or you can put everything into your intellect, discipline, and strength and be something of a glass cannon. Weapon affiliations and armor perks can mitigate some of the punishment for minmaxing but it you will still, over all, be left weaker in certain areas by maxing off something else. And this isn't tied to armor so you're going to have to make choices about the entire game, not just pvp or pve, you can reset your stats but it becomes steadily more punishing to do so, so you are really going to want to find a well rounded build.

        • I'm going out on a limb here, and inviting endless criticism, but here goes. I am a slow player, with slow reflexes, so Mobility doesn't help me. So, I only use armor with 2 stat for Mobility. The rest I dismantle. Then I use Mods to make up the other stat totals. (Players who like Mobility, could perhaps go for armor with 15 or so Mobility, then five pieces would give them a high total mobility. Allow for MW! Other stats suffer accordingly, and need mods to bring them up.) The most obtainable "brand" at present would be Tusked Allegiance. The PsiOps give a lot of this stuff! Zavala can be relied on to give Veritas gear. Then, when I get a decent selection of 2 stat Mobility armor, I put them in a spreadsheet, and juggle them around to get a build set for one Element. I try to have total stats less than 5 - preferably less - over the even. I also tried to have sets from one "brand" of armor. All Tusked Allegiance etc. This became a bit tiresome, but doable. So, now I have a set for each element, and I select all those pieces of one element to make an element build. This way, I don't have to worry if I equip an "off the set item", only to have it bugger up the total stats. I change the element of a piece if it fits into a particular element set. This works quite well for the three (or four) elements. Problems start when you want to have a different build for one element. say a Super build, or a Grenade build. It's not a big problem to make the build, just tedious, but identifying all the pieces for that build set is a problem. Bungie has no way to place a note on a piece, as DIM does. I suppose a way around is is to extend the 2 mobility (or whatever) to have armor with the same stats for the different pieces! Like, all Helmets have 2, 15, 12, 23 5 or whatever. I'd say this is possible by playing 24 hours a day for a few years, and deleting a million pieces to get to that end goal! Anyway, that's my idea, and the spreadsheet works, if a bit time consuming.

          • This.. Or, maybe the stat points shouldn’t be wasted?? Like, have every point from 1-9 actually affect the stat or ability cooldown? But yeah, if they’re gonna be useless, let us redistribute.

              Are you serious?! You must be a massive troll. If not, you really need to think about Destiny 2's replayability, it's value in that. And the fact that your "dumb" idea will never happen. Just like more vault space, auto dismantling blues and other ideas will NEVER EVER HAPPEN. There's literally people out there grinding away 50-60+ hours a week to get perfect stat armor. Hell, it's a big flex to run 3x100 stats or even 4x100 in the crucible. Your idea would kill the armor grind completely, essentially giving people ALOT less incentive to be online and on the lookout for good rolls. Like offering an idea to your government saying that people would be less poor if banks just gave away free money. Great stuff. Had to comment on this bullshit. Edit : This whole thread is just filled with geniusses. All suggesting core changes to a game, a game Bungie refuses to make minor quality of life improvements for it's players. Here we are suggesting armor grinds should stop, light levels should be removed and all kinds of other crazy -blam!-. I've been around since D1 days and it's never gonna happen folks What Bungie WILL do though, is make the grind even grindier!! The more you are online, the more frustrated you become, looking for that godroll armor or whatever, the more inclined you are to buy a dopamine shot in the form of an eververse item, preferably with silver. Wake up and face reality. Don't think you can change anything to this game. We've tried. We've failed. Bungie DOES NOT give a single -blam!-. Why? We keep buying silver and expansions regardless. Now if everyone boycotted this game for a year, nobody buys the next expansion, nobody buys anymore silver for a year, THEN bungie will listen. That's never ever going to happen. Lmao

                  • I think having stats like 41, 46, 49 should be removed. It should simply round up, if not to the nearest ten, then to five. As it is these straggly end points being non-upgradeable don't work well.

                    • Agree. The armor system in this game is frankly a trainwreck and needs looking into in so many areas. Quality of life fixes like this would help a lot.

                      • Yeah I don't want that at all. It would completely defeat the purpose of random rolls on armor. Everyone would just dump everything to intellect/strength/Discipline depending on their build. It would make PvP even more unbearable than it already is. It would become an ability spamfest instead of a special weapon spamfest.

                      • The best way to get ridiculously powerful armor is master raids. You can combine a ghost mod with the armor focusing of the week to get some insanely high stat armor, especially since at the end of the raid, you can buy armor using raid spoils. Be careful though… There are certain restrictions on how armor drops in game (example: if the weekly focus is mobility, you’ll have to use a ghost mod to either also focus on mobility for the extremely high mobility stat, or the bottom 3 stats (discipline, strength, intellect). Attempting to mix upper stat (recovery, resilience) will not work, as the game doesn’t allow you to focus armor in that fashion. Double focusing stats requires you to choose an upper stat and a lower stat, or double focus one stat.
