I'm creating this post because lately i'm feeling that PvP is not enjoyable or rewarding anymore.
Where the hell have you been. PvP hasn't been enjoyable, let alone rewording for some for years. Copy and paste work doesn't seem to create incentive, and I'm laughing that Bungie hasn't caught on, but at the same time? Most of you accept the poor development and you will still play it regularly in spite of your complaints or how bad it gets.
Me, I do my weekly engrams once in a while and bounce out of that disaster.
We all remember those days back in Halo (1, 2 or 3) when everything seems to be fair and competitive.
And after that, Bungie decided to create a new game called Destiny which the main idea was to create a "better game" or a "better experience" in an RPG world for everyone.
Just saying, your mistake was thinking this is the original Bungie from back then. You might want to let the truth set in that this is not Bungie from back then. Most that had a say that cared about creating a quality type of game left this company.
You're dealing with people that don't play their own game, that just work there for a paycheck, not to create a game.
Just saying, your mistake was thinking this is the original Bungie from back then.
That's not the issue. Halo was lightning in a bottle. It was the right game, at the right time for the right audience. It was already a PC gamer when Halo CE droppped....and it really did nothing for me. I played CE for about an hour or two....put it down and never went back. For a PC gamer it was nothing special. But for console gamers at the time? VERY different story. Halo is a franchise that has run its course....and even Halo Infinite's PVE felt slow and dated. The only thing keeping it going at this point is nostalgia. Gaming has moved on....and neither Bungie nor 343 have any idea of where to go next in the PVP arena. Both companies are lost and adrift with regards to that aspect of gaming.

TheShadowにより編集済み: 5/5/2022 11:37:33 AMPart of it is the issue, correct me if I'm wrong but I recall gamers creating Halo that actually played their own game. That alone vs the Bungie today makes a world of difference knowing your game vs just working for a paycheck.

Not really. Destiny is a different game. It is not by accident but by intention. Bungie split from Microsoft because they wanted to make a game that was very different from Halo, and MS wanted them to go back to churning out Halo sequels. So Bungie gave up the rights to Halo to buy their freedom, and MS turned 343 Industries into what they wanted Bungie to remain.

Playing your own game does actually let you see what's going on vs how Bungie handles things these days. Yes, Bungie wanted to move on, but telling me this doesn't change what I actually said. When you look at how much content is released without it being tested, and Bungie has admitted to doing this. That is a huge issue. Besides all this, being creative takes willingness, and gathering from all the copy and paste work this game literally gets. Bungie has shown they are unwilling and all of this lies on the higher-ups that actually make these dumb decisions.
Playing your own game does actually let you see what's going on vs how Bungie handles things these days.
"The problem" isn't that Bungie devs don't play their game. Lots of them clearly do....and He Who Shall Not Be Named probably played this game more than many people on this forum complaining about it. The root of the problem is that Bungie took 5 years to settle internal conflicts about what KIND of game Destiny would be, and what direction it would grow in (Unification of Vision). Which means that there are lots of people who were dedicated players by then, who strenously disagree with the direction the game is going. The people at Bungie who couldn't get behind the changes, left and went to work elsewhere (most of them were PVP oriented devs). That reckoning is now upon the player base. The problem is that many of those disgruntled players either refuse to move on....or like a jilted ex they hang around and try to make their ex miserable by trying to keep the conflict going. This game will NEVER be what the PVP community wants. But like many in bad marriages, the sunk cost fallacy grabs hold, and they just refuse to see what is right in front of them.

TheShadowにより編集済み: 5/5/2022 12:13:31 PMLet's try this again, actually playing your game that even the live streams literally show the entire player base that a lot of them do not play their own game is a problem. Testing and actually playing the game are two totally separate things. That is a fact you will never get around, and Bungie admitting (((they push out content that isn't tested))) says more than enough. Looking for ways around facts doesn't work and never will. So there are a lot more issues here than you will ever care to admit.
