2 通の返信I've been playing Destiny 2 for 6 months now. I think of Gambit like Quidditch. Catching the Snitch almost always wins that team the match, as it is worth as much as 15 goals. I can't imagine setting up a team sport that has one player doing something so separate from what the rest of the team is doing that would then also be almost certain to be the deciding factor of the game. But a game that made sense wasn't the point. Rowling came up with Quidditch and the role of the Seeker in that it allowed the hero, brand new wizard, Harry Potter, something important to do with the team despite having only gotten on the team because he seemed to be great flying a broom during his first time ever being on one. Simply put, the rules of Quidditch are what they are to give Harry a special role on the team despite having just found out that magic was real a couple weeks earlier, I think? Gambit isn't quite as ridiculous as Quidditch, but the same flawed reasoning is what leads to invasion being the problem with the format. Gambit is a combo PvE/PvP event mean to attract both the hard-core players that like PvP, and the casual player that just wants to be playing a video game. But invasion unbalances the PvP compared to the PvE part of the format. In terms of the time and effort of a team, invasion (attacking or defending) is always going to take a small fraction of the time of the match, but its potential impact is to completely decide which team wins. I don't have any data on this, but I would think that Bungie does. What would you all think the correlation between success invading the other side has with winning the whole match?

4 通の返信People just handle invaders wrong. If they just do the two things I'm about to mention, this would not be an issue at all. 1. Stop hiding from the invader during the mote-depositing stage, unless you have > 10 motes. With low or zero motes, you need to be as aggressive as possible. If you die, who cares? Any decent team member will look for your revive icon and use that to see where the invader is. Should be second nature by now. 2. Almost invariably, you should know instantaneously in which of the three zones the invader spawned. It's usually the one farthest from the zone that currently has NPC enemies. But if for some reason it isn't the far zone, you'll see the invader's radar signature while you run by the only other zone. This is not something that can vary. There's one more thing: If you go in to Gambit thinking your skill, knowledge and general intelligence is enough to win every match (like some players absolutely can do in Crucible), you're gonna be disappointed. An enormous amount of luck (in terms of the calibre of teammates you get) is involved in wining a Gambit match. Period.

9 通の返信Dr Livingston 9により編集済み: 5/1/2022 1:12:54 PMinvaders decide games period . banking motes don't decide games. doing damage on primevils don't decide games. there are way too many invasions. only 2 invasions when primevil is up. and get rid of the the health gate on the primeval where you have to kill envoys. there should be only 2 invasions when you are banking motes period. I'm going to not bank motes or do primevil damage and I bet if I killed the other team my team would win every time without me doing the to other things. my team gets killed like 5 times when the primeval is up its impossible to win. you have to worry bout the envoys and take care of the invaders at the same time.

1 返信Played a game tonight where "that primeval is almost dead" but of course the envoys popped back up health gating him with less than a third of his life left. Invader comes over caps 2 players then caps 1 a second time and the primeval health is full again. At that point there's really no use in continuing the game. Between running all over for the envoys, running for heavy, and dodging the never ending invasions, gambit sucks the life out of you.......and I liked playing gambit. Also whoever thought the increased revive time was a good idea needs to resign......aside from me, nobody's reviving teammates.

3 通の返信I love all the "It's 4 against 1" comments. Do you guys not count the mobs in the map trying to kill you while the invader is there?

2 通の返信I don't understand how people have a hard time with invaders. Predict and prepare for when the invasion is coming, screen turns red, invader spawns in from 3 possible locations, pull out rockets and hunt them down. Worst case scenario is you trade but they only get 1 kill. Then resume the activity.

5 通の返信I mean it’s 4v1… All 4 of you get a heavy brick each wave, and the high value target drops additional ammo If you think invaders are bad now, you should’ve seen them during gambit prime lol

13 通の返信With all the -blam!- heavy ammo laying around. Invaders shouldn’t be a problem. The problem is everyone running and hiding when they invade instead of going after them. If you have zero motes why the -blam!- are you hiding?
