Lots of sentiment from the streamers that it's time Champions leave the game. I agree wholeheartedly.
We get all this great loot and weapons
But the second you want to try any end game activities you're choices get narrowed to just a few because of champions. Not to mention overloads still don't work right and all the glitching to go with any of them.
Sub class re work is great except that we have to modify the build and weapon choices down to champions, and don't even get me started on acute burns, and survivability. Time to re visit champions.

2 通の返信Agree. The entire witch queen story, not 1 champion, yet legendary was quite difficult with a fireteam of 3.

It is kinda dumb to enforce load-out diversity by using mods to determine which weapons will affect certain Champions during a particular season, and then steer the player base towards a rubbish class of weapons we don't use regularly because we know they are garbage because weapon balance is non-existent.

The concept of champions is fantastic, having super powerful high threat enemies that control the flow of encounters is great. The actual gameplay to counter these threats? Equip shitty blue mod on your gauntlets. They literally fulfilled the concept of champions in an actually good fashion with the Lucent Hive, which they've received heaps of praise for as enemies.

5 通の返信Going off your title... Because Bungie is too lazy as a developer to want to spend the time and resources creating actual new challenges. Spamming them throughout the entire game solves their unwillingness to be creative. It's a shame how much work is put into this game only to be tainted with cheap mechanics.

Champions are not the issue, the issue is the counter perks are so rubbish. It's virtually impossible to work up an armour and weapon mix which gives you the player the edge. If any one has a build that really works please share.

Bungie should replace champs with a fireteam of hive guardians “invading” your strike every once in a while Edit: see if I came up with this in 2 seconds using my minimal almost non existent brain cells, how is it that not a single employee at bungie has thought of this?

The addition of Lightbearers was really nice, genuinely was more fun to engage and tackle Light wielding Hive than to sit and stunlock an enemy fir half a minute.

3 通の返信I just did the Vox Obscura on Master level yesterday. I started laughing at the insane number of Champions in that mission. It seemed like every second enemy was one. My team got through the mission anyway but I couldn't help thinking that throwing in tons of Champions was just a lazy way to increase difficulty. Especially in the first part of that mission. You have a tank. The enemy has tanks, air support and turrets. You have all the elements for a full out armored vehicle battle of the likes this game rarely does. But because the Champions can't be stunned or disrupted by the tanks and can shred your vehicle in an instant even though you're in a freaking tank, you have to pop out to shoot them with the current meta weapons for dealing with Champions. And then when you get inside the base for the second part of the missions it's just a cavalcade of Champions. Anyway you look at it Champions are tiresome and overused. It's time for a fresh approach to raising difficulty.

3 通の返信What bugs me is you have to use mods to reduce incoming solar/void/arc. Fail to use the correct one and you’re one shot even with full resilience.

Not even just still 'in the game' - but why are they the main event in every single last scrap of PvE ? If only they were a persistent annoying relic of unimaginative game design to limit our loadouts in just one aspect. They're now everything, in everything.

5 通の返信The champions are not the problem at all, the mod system for stunning them is the problem. If we could just whack a champion mod on any weapon we want, problem solved.

Enemy density, tactical positioning, interesting attacks. Great environmental design to put that all in. All components to make for engaging difficult content. Hope Bungie take what worked with that and apply it for future content in general. Not just for the harder campaign difficulties.
