Probably. Just not directly. She says she was not "forged in Light", and a side must always be chosen even if it's the wrong side. Because a choice implies responsibility, and action. While no choice at all implies you're content with nothing. There is no going back in time, just stepping from side to side between alternate timelines. Can you imagine if time travel were real, in a fixed position? When the universe is expanding and everything is moving, how would you "go back" in time to a point where you were but everything else hasn't caught up yet? You'd be nowhere in space waiting for the universe to catch up. You'd need to establish a Point A and Point B already, at the same placement regardless of where it is in relation to time. Like the Infinite Forest. You use it to enter through various points in time. It's placement is the same throughout all points regardless of where it is in relation to time when you step out into the past. In order to do that though, as I've said, You'd need to establish already existing points. Which means time travel isnt really time travel, since the events from Point B have already occurred in Point A before Point B happens. Like Saint-14's rescue. It was impossible until we established that point by entering the Infinite Forest. Only we could do it because we were already part of it, no matter how much Osiris' Reflections or his Echos searched. We needed to initiate the Point A, to get to Point B despite being a Point C. Also, if the Elsie we know is from another timeline.. where is our Elsie? Elsie doesn't get sent back in time, but her consciousness does. Or it doesn't. She simply "remembers" where she's already been. She didn't use to.. it was a struggle for her until she found something that could restore her memories. Like her Fish Companion, something similar to the Altar of Reflection. How do you think Savathûn restored Crow's memories? Using this same concept. Elsie isn't the only one who can Step. Savathûn needed her memories for something despite knowing who she already was. Even our Guardian asked this question and then was never answered. So, then where is our Elsie? She IS our Elsie. She simply just remembers her previous attempts. That or Exo's are copies of their consciousness' whilst the originals exist somewhere else that's a "Point A" Memories get uploaded into a new frame, or a frame that's theirs from another timeline yada yada, you get it. This is why I've compared Exo's to the Ship of Theseus. What happened to their human remains? If a Ghost revives a Guardian due to their resonance, what actually gives it off, the consciousness? What if they're a skeleton? Is it any different from an Exo frame? If the Light restores the soul's vessel to it's most complete form (age differences, scars etc) why do Exo's remain Exo's? Which qualifies as a consciousness, if consciousness can be replicated and remade. When they don't even have to be completely organic in nature and can be artificial? Who designates what is artificial or not? If all intelligence by virtue of establishing Compassion & Understanding, replicating it artificially. Is that not life also?

  • Eh, you got the time travel bit wrong. You wouldn’t be in No Space waiting for the universe. Time also involves location. So when you back in time, you go back to a location in that time, otherwise you have incomplete coordinates. That said, outright dismissing canon lore you don’t like doesn’t work. You’re question about where our Elsie is…is answered by the time travel. You’re refusing that is why it becomes a question. You created this issue by disregarding canon lore. See what I mean? The question is, why don’t others do it. The Vex can’t. By spanning the past present and future, all time time phases are the “present” for them. They cant time travel without consolidating into one time period. Clovis Bray managed to travel to alternate timelines. So it would appear that time travel requires such an immense power that it’s severely restricted.

Like the fracturing/shattering of an artifical god. Correct, you'd be in space just not in the location you think you'd be in. Not non-existent space. You'd need to account for the deviations. This is why I brought up two instances of fixed & non-fixed "time travel" if you even want to call it that, since it's a catch all term. Fixed time travel is in relation to where you are vs the universe, which isn't happening. Non-fixed time travel is in relation to where the universe is in relation to you, thereby allowing placement, since you are moving with the universe backwards or forwards as you described with the Vex.
