Why does blocking players NOT actually block players? Why is this 'feature' even in game?
Playing Survival last night (4-7-22) against another team who were gratuitously teabagging - every death, multiple guardians run over to teabag. Postgame I block TWO of them, we go to orbit, get back in the queue, and the next game we are again matched with them both - the block symbol clearly visible in the match roster. Again, gratuitous teabagging - every death. Postgame match two, my clanmate sends them a gg message and says 'but the teabagging is not cool' and they reply it's because I am running the True Colors Pride emblem.
I understand Bungie practically invented teabagging with the Halo series, but the truth is things have changed in the last two decades, and pantomimed -blam!- assault wasn't funny or cool then or now. And AT MINIMUM, players should be able to avoid those who engage in this behavior. Part of creating 'worlds that inspire friendship' needs to be worlds where players can avoid relentless toxicity.

The block feature, blocks communications from that player. It does not impact match making at all. If messages are offensive or violate code of conduct, you are encouraged to report the messages. You can also report any in game transgressions that break the code of conduct.
