Now right now I don't know what I would personally do during the mote gathering phase. But since it's actually a pretty quick part of gambit and most of it in centralized during primeval phase (without a boss melt cheese) I think there's obviously a problem with heavy invasions since heavy is so plentiful, yes you can counter rocket them but with Gjally in particular or eyes they can just wipe the team even when you kill them since they'll be in flight. So I figured weighting what you get kills with might be a bit of a step. Here's what i have in mind.
Invader kills with Heavy/Super = 8% primeval health refilled
Invader kills with Special Weapons/Abilities = 14% primeval health refilled
Invader kills with Primary Weapons = 20% primeval health refilled
It's not perfect but at the moment invaders still hold too much sway over a match in my opinion and heavy usage needs to, while maybe not get chopped entirely since relying solely on rng to determine if you'll have good boss damage sucks. Get discouraged in some way. Getting invader kills on it's own does slow boss dps but i think changing the health refills will at least make a bit of a step to balancing this whole thing out if we're going to be keeping Gambit around.

What do we get from this? First of all, not everyone is gonna invade. Only these who are confident with their weapon skills. Its a high risk high reward, if you gonna kill somone they Lose particles or the primeval gets health back. Maybe introduce a penalty for the invaders team. If the invader dies this team will lose 5-10 banked particles. So, it turns people on to track the invader actively. Or in case of the invader, he can stop after 1 or 2 kills and return without dying so the team wont get a prnalty. In my opinion the combination of invader with heavy/ overshield/ wallhack is the most unbalanced Part of gambit. Super is totally annoying to, but I think wasting your super for invading is a valid option as it comes with a high risk.

What if they did something radical like this: the invader drops in for 60 second and drains the bank 1 mote every 2 second. When they kill opposing guardians those guardians keep their motes. The invader still gets wall hacks. Basically this would create a scenario in which the hunter becomes the hunted and they're frantically trying to stay alive while being hunted down by the four guardians on the opposing team.

Soupreemにより編集済み: 4/6/2022 8:39:06 AMI think there's some easier fixes. 1. Invaders are locked out of Heavy weapons, and immune to opposing guardians' Heavies. 2. Wallhacks for the invader only appear within 30 meters of opponents (to hopefully alleviate at least some of the Scout/Sniper shenanigans). 3. Invadees get wallhacks on the invader for the last 10 seconds. 4. Primeval only has 3 invincibility phases. Or honestly just remove Gambit and transfer the resources to Crucible or Strikes.

3 通の返信I'm gonna say it. Gambit needs to go and be replaced. Bungie aren't keeping up with PvP balance, they're completely out of touch balancing Gambit. I'd take it away and find something else instead. Gambit was fun during Prime. But somewhere along the way. It just completely flopped out and hasn't been given the full works it needs. Prime was almost perfect but they just couldn't seemingly balance 4 armour sets properly. A good idea....a bad execution.

1 返信I like it. Gambit isn't going anywhere. Invaders aren't going anywhere. They're not just gonna block heavies. Time to refine.

2 通の返信Fastest way to fix Gambit is: Get rid of invader over shield and wall hacks, get rid of primeval health gating, and get rid of Primeval heal on invasion kill. Almost no one likes the mode so artificially extending playing time in a game shouldn't exist. If the people that do really like the mode want the boss not to melt then make the boss a raid boss with a few million HP. The heavy crates are fine because it gives people an easier way to deal with invader cheese. My biggest gripe with the current iteration is how much health the primeval gets back and the stupid health gating. I've been in matches where people are dying to envoys and having to sit there holding their hand or watching them die countlessly while our primeval heals gets old super fast. After two invasion phases I usually give up and wait for it to be over. Or, they can keep it as is and give the game a five minute timer and which ever team has the primeval with lowest health (or is dead) wins by default.

ELDiablo93010により編集済み: 4/6/2022 12:28:49 AMThis is a great idea but I would go further. Gambit is not longer PvE. It’s simply a watered-down PvP mode. The entire match is determined by who invades better. It truly sucks. MULTIPLE members of the community have posted in these forums before that invading NEEDS to be high-risk, high-reward. Period. There’s no draw back right now to invading with G-Horn over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and …well you get the point but I don’t think Bungie does. Such draw back could be a “penalty box” that the invader goes to for two mins if they are killed. Or the invaders entire team loses two heavy rounds if the invader is killed. A ton of great ideas have been presented over the years. DO SOMETHING!!

1 返信Cool idea. I’ve never understood what the actual gambit is in Gambit. There’s no risk to invade. It doesn’t cost motes, dying as invader incurs no penalty other than the momentary loss of 1 player DPS. It’s potential for reward with ver little on the line. Require motes in hand to enter the portal. Make your invasion timer proportional to how many motes you’re holding. If you die all this motes auto deposit on opposite team. Actually make people think about whether an invasion is the right move by putting real consequences on a failed invasion.

While I like the idea, it still wouldn't stop people from complaining about invading. And that's the main issue with gambit: people want the mode to be something it's not. They want it to be pve only, no invading. And since it's not, they complain about invading, whatever weapons are used during invading, etc. Bungie has nerfed invading so much already, it's ruining the mode. What's funny is that if bungie took it away, people would then complain they were losing cause the other team is melting the primeval too fast. Some of that talk already has started like 3 seasons ago. Anyway, you know what helps prevent that? Invading lol.

Eyes got destroyed. It does nothing in gambit anymore. The rockets just float around in the area where you shot them...like a vortex grenade made of rockets. Which i want as an exotic grenade launcher now.... Shoot a solar blob on the wall or floor that is actually rotating rockets.
