This is more for solo players:
Why is always necessary to put in timers on missions like presage, zero hour, vox obscura en stuff?
It’s a way to make it harder without making it hard but easy to make mistakes because you’re beeing rushed.
Why not make it hard by throwing in more enemies, modfiers, and get rid of those timers. Let people who want to run missions solo enjoy the content and not every dame exotic mission pressured by timers.
Luckily myself can run with clanmates, but I can really understand why solo players have the feeling that they can’t enjoy the content because of some sort of pressure of timers. And when you’re out of luck you run into ammo problems which make it even harder for solo players because without decent heavies those bosses take ages.
Another fun fact in Vox Obscura, i ran it solo on normal, killed the boss, and at the same time i get killed by misadventure or the architects. I respawn and got mission complete screen, the game SPAWNS ME OUTSIDE THE BIG RED DOOR AND NO WAY TO GET IN!
So can you please open up that door when missions complete because this is one of the reasons I post this, because how can a solo player get rushed by a timer, kill the boss and finish the mission while also getting killed and then having no way to get to the chest because you forgot to make a practical respawn point or didn’t open the door afterwards.
Start thinking a bit more about solo players and get rid of those annoying timers and throw a cargo load of enemies in

Timers are the worst way to increase difficulty in any game or activity. It's the laziest way too. They don't add anything of value to the experience, quite the contrary, they make players rush through the content without the time to really appreciate it. Bad, lazy, design.
-
Yes! If it's not timers, it's adding in a million champions 🙄 Clearly they've given up on content and just throw the same 2 things into the game to make it "harder". Throw more yellow bars at me, more enemies, but stop with timers on normal difficulty and champions that require me to use weapons that YOU want me to.

Sir Wrinklebuttにより編集済み: 3/26/2022 10:02:25 PMTimers compensate for Bungie's zero ability to create worthy content that require a players skill, so their mediocre efforts need something to increase the difficulty, so, add a timer .. Typical lazy approach that personifies Bungie content for the last 5 to 10 years .. How I wonder, am I supposed to enjoy, explore or appreciate the graphics, or the game and its content, there isn't time, we are pushed into ignoring everything around us and focus purely on the target, utter nonsense .. Raids have a similar issue, not timers, but puzzles and symbols that require high level of memory skills, or worse still, kindergarden flash cards, and yes, even timers too, I have yet to explore the new VoD raid arena, why ??? Because Bungie have added timers that prevent it ... While I am here, how is it that so many broken/bugged weapons, vendors, quests etc., get fixed or removed until fixed, usually within hours of discovery when the problem is a boost or advantage for players, yet, when the rest of the time, its usually " we are aware and looking into it" response, meaning its weeks before anything is done ... I won't waste my time asking you to pull your fingers out of whatever hole you have it inserted into, because clearly, you don't know how ..

1 返信Corrick IIにより編集済み: 3/25/2022 2:45:31 PMTimers are fine when they’re a part of the mission structure and make sense in context, like the countdown to orbital bombardment. I still don’t like them but I “get” it. However, I absolutely loathe them when they’re completely arbitrary and obviously put in to add “difficulty”. Like someone else said, save it for the Master level activities where those players need that challenge.

5 通の返信Timers are tied with escort missions for the worst game mechanic. It makes me think they don’t want players looking too close at anything. I like checking out all the little details and visual storytelling.

2 通の返信CookieNikiにより編集済み: 3/25/2022 7:15:53 PMI loved Presage last year. I could play it at my own pace and desire. Vox Obscura? Not even close to the same experience. Tried it a couple of times and I always get killed. Not by the enemies or by being slightly under-leveled (which I like because makes it more challenging). I'm always killed by the timer! Stupid design that removes all the fun of playing what must be an interesting and memorable mission. What's the benefit of having to rush through content? Where's the added value to the experience in that? There's none! Why can't it be like the legendary missions? Wrong decision, putting a timer in the mission.

1 返信Bungie loves their timers. Im fine with timers as long as there's a freakin reason in the game to have them. Bungie gives no reason..so there IS no reason.. It would be extremely simple to do as well. hurry we need to do the thing before stuff happens .. nah just a timer

2 通の返信People were extremely vocal against timers and Bungie ignored them to make the try hards happy and then the game died. It's almost like tryhards aren't beneficial to the survival of a game and have done more harm to this series than good. They still refuse to remove the timers and it's mostly because they don't want people to brute force the game mode by sticking to cover and you know basically being rational about things. Basically it's down to they have nothing else to drive difficulty besides timers, spam aoe, and hoards that rush on your position forever while firing like an 80s action hero. Seriously I would like to just once see an enemy have to stop and reload.

1 返信Timers have never felt like a fun way to up the difficulty to me. Never ran the missions that had / have a time limit more than i felt like i needed to. But hey, if you're out of ideas for difficulty with unique mechanics, you just slap on a timer and make enemies bullet sponges + add champions that arent a challenge at all but rather dictate your loadout. Bungie in a nutshell.

21 通の返信Been playing for over 6 years, have always been a slow solo player and now @ 67, won't even try anymore. I know my limitations. I'm just not good, even though I enjoy video games. While I am disappointed, I can't get some items I've paid for, I quit caring about that too. I'll pay my $100 admission, play what I can and ignore what I can't. By making the game harder, Bungie has succeeded where I never could. I have more free time to enjoy the world outside of Destiny. Was under the clock for over 40 years, no more timers for this guy. Enjoy your nite!

1 返信reenryにより編集済み: 3/26/2022 10:51:37 AMI really want you to know some things arent designed to be intentionally done solo. They are designed around a fireteam in mind. That doesn’t make it impossible but you need to know what you are capable of as a solo player and not everything will be as easy. What is a breeze as a fire team is not a breeze solo. Get that through your head.

5 通の返信The timer isn't that bad in vox obscura. If you die to it you're used to playing super slow and don't like getting forced out of it. Sure in some cases timers can feel awful but never really make a mission impossible or extremely hard to finish

Timed strikes don't beat it in time to orbit you go.. suck it

Timers are a super lazy way to increase the difficulty of a mission. There's so much content in Destiny that they literally have to take content out to make room for more content but they insist on dragging out the grind to preposterous levels. Timers just suck.
