Trials doesn't feel rewarding for solo players
As it stands, I'm more or less having to just throw bodies into the meat grinder for a reputation grind since at 7 wins it's nearly impossible for a solo player like me to earn anything. The road up to seven wins felt more rewarding but now that I keep getting curbstomped by flawless players it feels like it's not worth my time to actually try in matches.
Why the drop rates for match losses at 7 wins is so low is mind-boggling to me, and I hope Bungie makes the experience more rewarding for solo players. Otherwise what's the point of allowing matchmaking if people will eventually just funnel back into 3 stacks?

That's why i think people should get the ultimate challenge in Trails "PERMA-DEATH" One life - One death! That would be something for the GF streamers to sink their teeths in. Imagine the frustration when people stake their 1000 grind guardian and loses everything? That alone would be worth pay per view *LOL*

3 通の返信I feel your pain, I prob played 100 matches to get my 7 wins. I would say that it helped me get better but that would be a lie, getting curb stomped by for hours does not improve pvp skills.

4 通の返信Because it’s a team based game mode?!?! Do you want matchmaking in raids with a bunch of randoms with no mics ? There are rewards for solo queuing it’s just not meaningful ones un like getting a team and actually going flawless

Probably because it's not a solo mode. You can now que in solo as a warm up or alternative to lfg but ultimately it's just a function to give you a taste of the mode. If you want to actually consistently win lots of games you'll have to actually party up/discord/game chat (whatever works for you) with the team you either used lfg for or were match made into. It takes 0 effort and improves the experience greatly to have that communication

I don't think it's supposed to be.. I know that sucks, but trials is like the pinnacle of coordinated competitive play in destiny. I had kind of accepted trials loot just wasn't meant for me (also solo player) but now I actually have some awesome trials guns from the rework Bungie did. I may not go flawless, but I can at least step into the experience, which is nice.

5 通の返信Because that's Trials's Foundation. 3v3 Team against Team Communication Strategy Team Building For Solo Trials to Prosper....Trials needs a 100% Rework of the Foundation. It's like trying to fit a couch in a Small Bathroom. It doesn't Fit. You can break the couch....to make it fit, but now you just Ruined the Couch. 🤷. IMHO....MM needs to be Removed for Trials.

8 通の返信Its not meant to be rewarding for solo players. But to incentivize you to find a team in order to not stay a "solo" player in a team based game mode x) If you desire trials loots...make a fireteam.

3 通の返信I agree that Trials is not very rewarding UNLESS you can win more than you lose. Because of that lower skilled players have no real incentive to stick with it. My proposed loot changes would be: * Losses with less than 7 wins on your card should drop a weapon from the world loot pool. This loot pool could be targeted to the weapons that are desirable (Funnelweb for example) * Wins 1-7 should drop a random trials item that you have unlocked. * Wins past 7 should drop a Trials Engram, Prisms or Ascendant Shards/Alloys * Losses with 7 wins should drop a random Trials item that you have unlocked, Enhancement Cores or 2 world loot weapons. * You should be able to turn in one 7-win flawed card per week for an adept weapon. I know the elitists would throw a fit on the last one saying you have to "earn" the adept weapon, but lower skilled players will have earned it by sticking with it long enough to get those 7 wins. The odds of it being a god roll is slim to none and Trials isn't "competitive" anyway, so who cares. If you want the playlist to be healthy then you need as many players in it as possible and the only way to do that is make it rewarding.

Imo trials isn’t for solo players, when it was released back in house of wolves it was advertised as a group activity where the best compete so it makes no sense having 3x solo stacks playing. I went in today at 1520 light and solo stacking not for wins but for the pinnacles cause being a veteran players I fully well know that solo stacking a notoriously sweaty group based mode is not going to go well if I’m expecting to stomp while under levelled and solo. Don’t get me wrong it’s good that people who might not have had the chance to play cause of lack of friends or groups but there’s a fire team finder on here and I think it’s too generous as it is giving out the flawless armour from last year as engram drops tbh. It’s not really hard to find a group and you can meet some great players from the fireteam finder.

2 通の返信Inherently trials is team based. Gotta be appreciative to just be able to participate and get some of the loot. I will say this though, the loot should be on par with raid loot since trials and ib are the pvp endgame. Everything feels lesser than the raid stuff.

I don’t expect to go flawless in trials when playing solo but it doesn’t hurt to at least face other solo players. Edith: I actually went flawless with solo players, who would’ve thought? 🤷🏽♂️. Matches definitely felt more balanced/easier when everyone was a solo player. Stacks are definitely tough to beat. Freelance would definitely fix trials for solo players, I’m serious.

14 通の返信Trials isn't rewarding enough for anyone but the skillful at the moment. Even then it's barely rewarding as it is. As for flawless players......I want ya'll to check their loadouts next time. Are they good at the game or are they using the cheesiest loadouts? Bungie has a bad habit of making broken guns and then people mistake good players with cheesy players. There's a bit of a difference.

I am a 100% solo player, the game is not catered to us it was marketed as multiplayer so thats where the focus is. Likely why there is no matchmaking for nightfalls, dungeons, master rank etc. The arguement that it requires coordination is null and void. LFG for the most part is proof of that.

that's your problem right there - SOLO in a social game in a game mode that was designed for coordinated teamwork. I'm going to be honest, it's like Navy Seals going into some covert mission, but instead of going with a team that communicates, everyone has their mic's off, no chemistry, no team work, and still expecting to be successful.
