Am the only person in the community that feels like glaives need a LOT of work and love right now? I've seen no one complaining about that fact that glaives are super underwhelming and that they underperform in high end content. They feel less like a weapon, and more like a utility stick. Yay, we got a melee weapon that doesn't use ammo to swing it... but it also does nothing. It can't proc exotic effects, or set effects (like charged with light or wells) with its melee, EVEN EXOTICS THAT SPEICIFY THAT THEY PROC ON MELEE (note: karnsteins proc on unpowered and powered melee, but glaives apparently don't count as either). Glaives feel like they have a slew of problems with registering what there damage type is. They don't count as a melee, they don't count as a weapon, they are just kind of in some terrible middle ground that allows them to barely even register that you got a kill. The only use I could possibly see glaives having in high end content is a free shield to use to pick your friends up when they do something stupid. I'm not saying that I hate glaives, they are one of the most satisfying weapons in D2 right now, they are fun to use, and I enjoy them, but it feels like they didn't think them out well, and its caused them to suffer a lot. If you have any synergy you've found for them, or anything that gives them a use case in high end content, I would love to hear, maybe I've missed something. Oh god I hope I've missed something. Anyways, this has been my 10 page thesis on glaives. <3

4 通の返信There also shouldn’t be a buffer between firing and meleeing. In pvp, glaives are next to useless, taking up your special slot, and not even feeling powerful. As a special weapon should feel.

1 返信You're using it wrong. Enhanced impulse amplifier + enhanced Frenzy plus + seasonal suppression mod and it wrecks.
-
1 返信It's only purpose is a safety shield. Move it to primary. Energy Should also be regen on melee hits. Magazine size should be Way bigger like 20-40 in mag for the shield uptime. We are missing like 90% of our projectiles. Make projectiles detonate like explosive payload. Create New perks for projectiles, Example: blinding energy (projectiles Blinds the enemy they hit directly or with explosive Damage) etc. Maybe Just maybe glaive energy recovers over Time like Sword energy, maybe make it a perk.
-
2 通の返信I think the projectile is more useful on high end stuff. Stunning champions forts and then using melee is the way to go. Just using melee isn’t using all the weapon. They’re good at the moment with weakening and suppression etc, it’s next season that they might not be worth using but only time will tell.

When people FINALLY without grinding 1000 hours had their chance of feeling like a BAD-A$$ at their fingertips, Bungie had to ruin that as well! And how many Levels does the Enigma go to? 999 or 9999? And what is the use when you max out already at 20 Talk about a brainfart at Bungie HQ

Zer0Warri0rにより編集済み: 3/13/2022 5:18:47 PMThey feel underpowered bc they are. The primary source of their damage has been limited beyond a reasonable amount. All damage increasing perks or mods do not effect the main attack of these weapons the melee. Once suppress glaive and champion mods get removed from these weapons they will be meme weapons no one uses unless they specifically want to handicap themselves.

KannibalKlownにより編集済み: 3/14/2022 3:21:04 AMWhile glaives are interesting in theory, they only truly shine because of the suppression seasonal mod. Once that goes away, they use a lot of their utility. Until then, theyre dang strong and useful

4 通の返信Glaives are very powerful. Though the exotic glaives don't offer enough to take an exotic slot, take The Enigma into Gambit and your mind will be changed. Especially with Supressing Glaive.

I feel like everyone is misunderstanding. Glaives are very strong in low end pve killing trash mobs and majors, but the second you take a glaive to higher end content like master and GM nightfalls. The melee is completely unbuffable by perks, set effects, and exotics, making unable to even kill red bars in one shot. The only use I see them getting in high end play is as a utility stick to res your friends for being dumb.
-
Aside from the issue of working with melee perks they are fine as they deal a lot of damage and if you need to retreat or revive someone the shield basically tanks everything in pve. Now if we talk about the exotic glaive's oh boy those just do not do anything but punish you for using em even worse is Edge of Action deals way less than a normal Glaive causing it to need more to defeat one major

They felt like absolute garbage in my initial playthrough of the legendary campaign. Once the power level isn't in the way as much, it actually feels fine. Though they definitely need to make them less boring to use. There's just no weight to anything on the weapon.
