It'd remove the whole ability to peak and make it more fair in general. In addition, with the whole regular melee unlimited usage, it'd make swords a good answer to shotguns, fusion rifles, and meta weapons.

I doubt that bungie would make a new archetype for swords like that. Maybe an exotic special sword. Also the 3rd person view on swords is partly to help with their cleave ability, which is why swords can hit multiple targets in a certain angle cone. Additionally it's helps with movement and addclear.
