Because people say they're shotgun counters but when they're hitting 20m to 40m (Xur's Main Ingredient) they're not countering just shotguns, but also hand cannons, pulses, SMGs, autos, etc............................................................

Trust me I am cool with the range nerf but if that happens, a decrease in the charge rate needs to happen as a trade off. Just like if they want to buff shotguns, they can buff the damage or RPM of them but reduce the range or vice versa.

No because pre charging exists. Range should get reduced a bit, but easiest way would be to make precision frames require all bolts to hit to make it a OHK. Like they do for shotguns. That way, if a fusion kills me 20m off, then fine, because they hit every bolt. A decrease in charge time would just make them borderline un counterable because you can't get into a gunfight and kill them fast enough with anything before they kill you
