The end
Long time getting here huh😢, it’s a journey that will always live close to my heart. I never said thought I’d be so captivated by an artificial world.
Destiny has been a part of my life for 8 years, I genuinely love this game, greatest of all time in my opinion. I’ve put the game over so many real life obligations in the years, (very bad addiction), I can’t continue anymore.
I did my last rounds of tower and various location good byes, albeit tearfully. The fateful end has arrived, I know people will bash or belittle me for typing this, that’s fair I deserve it. During my last visit to shaxx his dialogue was so sad too me at the moment. 😢.
Fairwell destiny I will always love you.

I hope youre keeping well mate and its totally your decision to part ways with the game, even if its just a break. Personally cant say i would really go as far as to compile a post on leaving D2 and even so i dont see there being such thing as 'quitting' a game, the whole point of a game is to enjoy playing it (to me). I just play a couple hours after work and a little more on my days off, its supposed to be fun but honestly if you've grown a severe connection to the game and you seriously find yourself having too much of an addiction to it... Then i can only try to understand where you're coming from. As long as it does you good then thats all that matters. :)

We all need to reflect on our lives, and try to make the most of it, while we still can. I’m glad you acknowledged your problem, and are taking steps to try and better yourself. It takes courage to do so, especially when you say it publicly. Just be careful in your journey, as one addiction can easily become another if you are not careful. To the rest, hey it’s all good. When you thoroughly enjoyed something, it is hard to say goodbye. To this day there are still things I could have watched a thousand times, and still tear up at the end of the journey. Happens to all of us in some form. No need to put yourself down for that. Good luck on your journey in life, guardian. I wish you luck on your journey, and hope for the best. You got this. -LK

I hear ya man. It was a great journey then everything outside of Forsaken and the 30th Anniversary for Destiny 2 has been utter garbage throwaway content. Been back on MHR and now with Extraction out I've been easily able to break away again after I put time into the gift I was given. I am thinking I'll log in set up my Titan for his final look then hang things up and delete this stuff again. I wish you luck in your journey away. I can promise you this there's tons of games out there much better than this one. So I'm sure you'll find one.

30 通の返信While I absolutely cannot relate to being misty-eyed about this game, I am also out when Witch Queen drops. Will I play what little "free" content there is when it goes live? Probably. At least to check it out. Will I buy Witch Queen, any season, any a la carte dungeons or future a la carte exotics? Abso-f***ing-lutely not. For the past several weeks, I've done nothing in D2 but hop on to grab the free Bright Dust because, well, it's free so why not? Right after I get it, I turn it off. Only JUST this week did I run some Strikes on one character. Shortly after, I was instantly bored and turned it right off again. I will finish the content I've paid for, as much as I can tolerate anyways, until the next "expansion" goes live. I'll let the servers die for the first two days, as they do, then check out the "free" stuff later before, inevitably, I turn the game off one last time. Do I hope this game actually becomes good? Of course. Why would I want it to continue being a boring loop of only playing a handful of activities endlessly to raise a meaningless number? I would LOVE for Destiny to become a proper game where you explore and play your way to ACTUALLY become more powerful however you want to achieve it. But it isn't and likely won't ever be. It's just a loop. People pay over $100 each year to continue playing the same activities they've been playing to get the same gear they're already getting. That's why I use "expansion" in quotes like that. There's no expansion. Just an annual price tag so you can keep doing Strikes, Gambit, Crucible, a Dungeon and a Raid three times a week in the hopes your number goes higher. I already paid for that. I already played that. Several times over. This game should be an amazing world you explore and discover. Where you actually want to go to the various destinations to find new quests and challenges and rewards. It isn't. The only reason people go back to any of those places is because their latest chores list told them they had to. Soon as they've checked it off, they leave. Wow... Exciting. Back to those same five activities again. Sadly, it looks like The Blair Witch is gonna keep the trend going. Once you've done the campaign and once you've found the couple neat things hidden somewhere on the destination and gotten the Emblem or Shader that goes with it, you're only gonna return to it in Free Roam because a new Bounty says you have to or the chores list for your "weapon crafting" makes you. Otherwise.... Strikes, Gambit, Crucible, Dungeon, Raid, repeat. Yawn.

2 通の返信Can understand. 1. They can't seem to make taken king and rise of iron style content anymore. 2. Pvp is an absolutely abysmal experience compared to first game. Slow and with the worst matchmaking I've ever experienced. 3. Most abilities feel weak, sparse and clumsy especially when compared to the first game. For the first time ever in Destiny history I'm not pre-ordering.

1 返信I'll never understand why people get this dramatic over a video game. All you have to do is follow a simple procedure. 1. Are you having fun? No? Stop playing. Yes? Keep playing. That's it. It's not an addiction, commitment, or a marriage. Just go play other fun things, and if you ever feel like coming back just do it. It seriously isn't that big of a deal. Destiny has had it's ups and downs for the entirety of it's existence. I just bail when I get bored and come back when something looks fun.

3 通の返信Good decision. Not only is it better for you, it's also the right decision because this game is a sinking ship only held alive to finance their new projects. D2 is just a cash cow that's being milked dry with more content taken away from us annualy than added. So which "various" locations did you say "bye" to exactly? Cause the ones i would take a farwell tour on are vaulted. Greedy company.

Addiction to games like Destiny is all too easy, the constant feel that you need to play to keep up the grind and not miss out is a little toxic to say the least. I think many have put this addiction ahead of real life many times, myself included. It is hard to keep priorities in-line and regular breaks from the game help, hopefully you will be back and feel less of a need to play rather than live.

6 通の返信I don't think destiny is your problem. If you are an adult and cannot put your real life obligations over something as trivial as a video game, then that might be the real problem IMHO.

32 通の返信I stopped playing a long time ago. I check on things here if game is improving. It's not!😂😂😂 Never missed the game. Best feeling ever. Can't believe I was playing this game almost everyday in D1 to something I don't even touch at all. I can't even get myself to play for free. Even if somebody pays me to play this game now, I still won't play it! 😂😂😂 State of the game!
