Would be pretty satisfying. Depending on what you break, certain enemies movements and attack patterns change and new weaknesses open up. Maybe even have the broken parts become crafting materials you can loot. Might encourage an interesting kind of gameplay loop where we are encouraged to explore the game world and look for high value targets or public event bosses for the materials you can "shoot off" of them. Maybe they enrage and an encounter is triggered. Just throwing ideas here.

I’m playing Wolfenstein: The New Colossus right now and this idea seems very similar to the mechanics of some enemies in that game The Supersoldaten(hulking super soldiers with heavy weapons) are covered in armor that can be chipped away to reveal a weak spot only on that part of the body. If you sneak up on it and cut its fuel line or shoot its fuel pack, it will cause an explosion on its back and reveal a large crit spot. Any armor that gets shot off can be scavenged at anytime to add to your own armor supplies. You can also shoot off their weapons and use it for your own. Allows you to be tactical with how you approach enemies and encourage strategized shooting instead of just spraying bullets into the enemy. Might not be the same as you have envisioned, but seems like a pretty similar concept in my mind.

6 通の返信but you already have it in this game, look at the brig enemies, you shoot the middle plate until the weak point shows...same with some of the vex.

3 通の返信We kinda had this in D1, 0:47 in the video shows Vex blown in half and exploded Vex milk on the ground from crits and just an arm blown off from body/chest shot kill.

3 通の返信As someone who plays the division, i would not like to see that in this game, it’s annoying enough to have to break peoples armor to damage them, even though it wouldnt be the same im at a disagreement.

1 返信I could see a combo of the old halo mechanics mixed with monster hunter. In the original trilogy of halo, if you broke an enemy shields or knocked the helmet off a brute they’d go berserk or loose tactical strategy. And if you break something have it like monster hunter where it’s just a shiny dot on the floor so it can keep its T rating. Perhaps this mechanic could be implemented with the weapon crafting (and eventually armor crafting) used more for craftable exotics where it would require (a ridiculous amount cause bungo no funno) and having replace planetary materials?

3 通の返信They can't even get core components of the game right lmfao. This would be an absolute mess, and wouldn't even viable upon implementation. They'd spend 4 seasons ironing out the trash aspects, only to make it worse.

1 返信Yes! I think it’s an excellent idea. Only problem is that it’s a T rated game, so limbs can’t be super gory when broken off, which seems a little odd; and I have many doubts Bungie would put in that much effort :/ sorry to sound that way, but I’ve been here since the beginning of D1, and I am almost 100% positive that the current bungo would not do it. Too much wasted potential at this point Still though, great idea, I really wish was in the game! Kudos to you :)

3 通の返信Isn’t destiny a rated T game? Dismemberment or any other form of a body part blowing off the enemies might be a higher rating game no? Although it is weird since we can blow off heads. Its a cool idea but I doubt this engine could even handle that many scripts

3 通の返信This already exists infrequently. For example, wyverns and brigs each have a crit spot that is only revealed after you damage their front a certain amount. Cyclopes malfunction when damaged enough and start shooting around like crazy. Goblins and hobgoblins can have their heads shot off if you aim for their head, after which they’ll charge you recklessly and hobgoblins can’t use their shielding ability. My guess is they can’t extend this to most enemies because it’s a T rated game, so they can only have this functionality on mechanical enemies such as vex.

3 通の返信I have no idea what kind of breakable part system you have in mind but if it's the one I have in mind which is as advanced and in depth as DOOM Eternal, although that would be an awesome step up it would also be a technological nightmare to implement with bungies now 7+ year old engine. I think there is even some video out there from ID Software saying that the level of detail with the demon dismemberment system was possible the way it is comes from in part the new iteration of the ID engine that they were working on as part of the games development. to say that it is not possible would be akin of saying you couldn't implement a working dune buggy in the gamebryo engine, but modders figured out a way to do, I'm sure that later rather than sooner some lowly group of modder could figure out a way to do breakable armor and body parts in whatever Destiny has.
