… With the excessive power grind?
One of the quality of life improvements I’ve enjoyed with recent seasons is that we don’t have to grind out 50 levels just to enter endgame content. It’s only been 10 LL per season. Which is nice.
But when WQ drops, we have to grind over 200 levels?! Again?!?
As it is, power level serves as little more than an activity entry number. You’re not rewarded for having max power or more but you’re definitely penalized for being under it.
I’m not a fan scraping together mats and upgrades for gear I like already to be brought to max LL. But if it’s like past seasons, where I have to wear bad stat armor for LL alone to save mats and am utterly reliant on RNG to get whichever piece you need for getting my good armor to max LL, just to power creep over weeks to play any endgame…
Again… It’s not rewarding to be over power level but I’m penalized when I’m under leveled. I’m sorry but that’s just bad design.
I don’t like busting my a$$ to get to play high end stuff only to keep getting knocked back down. Yes, I know that’s life but I play games to escape life, not be reminded time and time again that everything I work for means nothing.
That already happened with sunsetting and most of the sandbox changes to abilities and weapons I liked.
Yeah… I might just be getting tired. Maybe I’m misreading something or WQ has some surprises in store that will help with power creeping to play… But between the prevalent FOMO and the endgame grind, the burnout is real.
Just my feedback and personal perspective. Take it as you will.
Edit: Another good point brought up - This system actually restricts access for people that have to go to work from competing in worlds first as, since they can’t grind 24/7 as some players that make a living playing the game are able to do, they’re at a major LL disadvantage on the first day of the raid.

1 返信It’s just grind to get to actually content to make people play the game longer, bungie likes to use psychology to get people to play longer and it works. Messed up, but brings in the numbers statistically.

4 通の返信Every yearly big DLC has lots of levels. Forsaken went from 350 to like 750. They are doing this because they dont want everyone completing witch queen on day 1 .

3 通の返信Yeah honestly it's massive hypocrisy like, they told us going forward we'd only ever have to go up 10 levels each season, now they're going backwards AND making it even more absurdly ridiculous Like 200? Really? At that point why not just soft reset us all to 0 power level and ask everyone to get to 200 or something

2 通の返信Thank you. Someone else sees through the nonsense. It is a entry number for a specific activity with a difficulty spectrum. It is the beginning steps for FOMO.

1 返信I agree with it being annoying, but I disagree with the world's first raid race issue. It's endgame and that SHOULD be locked to players grinding for the endgame race. I know it sucks but it makes sense to me...but then again I think all raids should be 10 levels under max pinnacle, no lower. No higher. Master raids should be 10 above max pinnacle. No lower, no higher. But that's just my opinion too

5 通の返信Yep it’s trash. Old activities aren’t changing and the power grind is the exact same. Fun! Doing the same -blam!- were doing right now. Yay! Level up so I can do a Grandmaster that I can already do right now, a GM that isn’t changing in any way. Sounds great!

2 通の返信200 Levels??? No way dude... No way in hell I'm doing that next expansion. I feel bad for y'all who play all 3 classes...

5 通の返信People that work won’t have time? Bro…. Stop crying. I work a lot and have time to play. This power grind isn’t excessive.

4 通の返信Can you imagine being a new player and having to grind your way to a level that allows you to do interesting content that yields decent loot? If I was looking at D2 as a new player I would uninstall it after playing for an hour or two because the return on time invested is terrible. It feels as though the game has gotten too big for them to manage and be able to balance between new and veteran players.

5 通の返信1. World first aren't for Casuals or people with busy lives. They're clearly made for streamers. 2. There's nothing wrong with a level grind. You're not supposed to be able to do everything 1 to 2 months into an ANNUAL RELEASE. Just relax and take the game at your pace. It's not going anywhere.

6 通の返信You're 1369. You grinded your artifact to +39 this season. Pretty sure grinding and farming is your thing.

1 返信Icy Hot Todorokiにより編集済み: 1/21/2022 8:52:22 PMThey've been doing this with every DLC since post Forsaken - I don't know why people are acting all surprised like it's a first time thing. Most of all, the grind wasn't even that hard. Most people who actually played the game were at max light for the season within a few weeks. That, and I'm pretty sure they said 1,500 was for the entirety of the year

I don't mind power level grinding... If power level mattered anything else but lock you out from activities. And when you get, like, 30 PL above the recommendation and dregs still kill you with 3 shots.... Oh well...
-
I'm sorry but I work full time and have a family. I'd prefer if they ditch the artifact and seasons pass and have a proper leveling system. Other then that I have zero issues with increased light lvl every expansion.

4 通の返信Its a new DLC dropping, they already said that 10 power was per SEASON, and that this would allow people to jump into new content as soon as possible while still allowing to make a big power leap with expansions AKA WQ. Also this is for the new raid since there will be a a worlds first race again so there needs to be a grind for it
-
I don't like it either but every major expansion I can remember were in the 200 level neighborhood so I expected it. If they actually updated the core playlists were asked to use to level up, it would be fine. But they havent, so it burns a little more each time.

1 返信No one knows how much we gain through the campaign though. D2 community over reacts a lot. Save your frustrations until it comes out.

Just do what I do, place all your valuable armor sets in the vault. Equip any leveling gear you have and once you hit the cap, start infusing your gear. You also gain a ton of materials if you do it this way
