This is not true. Bungie themselves said earlier this year that hand cannons are the most forgiving in the game and do not suffer from the penalties of all other weapons. Frost bolt recently talked about why hand cannons are the best. I don’t use them at all but when I do( for the occasional bounty) I do very well. They feel good and are pretty easy to use.

Show your source... Besides. If hand cannons get nerfed, people's "trials carries" will get destroyed too. On a side note. If hand cannons get nerfed into oblivion we are just going to use something else that will have you people all crying again. Stop encouraging the "Nerf" everything behaviour! Improve yourself... Learn to use the left and right directional movement👍

Stop relying on YouTubers / streamers. They will destroy this game for content... Continuously shoot a HC and have a look at it's reticle. Check the bloom. You think hand cannons are easy? Use them against some experienced pulse rifle players or DMT players...

It came from straight from Bungie around the August time frame. I do listen to streamers especially when I agree with what they are talking about. Frostbolt was talking about why hc’s are so good and it makes sense. There is a reason that hand cannons and shotguns are the most used weapons in PvP. This weeks insights has them at 10 out of 18 of the most used weapons are these two.

Gulf of Mexicoにより編集済み: 12/25/2021 4:39:38 PMI would say bring them in a bit and let them have the same penalties as all other weapons. I’m not saying I will do any better because a good player will beat me no matter what. I’m tired of the same old thing for years now and it has made PvP stale. What is crazy is that every other weapon that dominates gets nerfed quickly but not these two. Bungie favors them and I think they are worried about the backlash from HC users like when we were in the auto rifle meta.

What penalties should they have that they don't already have though?... The learning curve on hand cannons are the most difficult out of all primaries because of their penalties. Even pros do not consistently 3 tap. All in all, no other game has hand cannon play like destiny has and to interfere with the weapon is to take originality out of destiny.

Bungie went over this. They talked about them being the most forgiving and not having penalties of all other weapons. Someone else brought it up in here and Aztecross went over it in one of his twab’s. You should look it up it was interesting and explained a lot about the way they perform. I don’t use them at all but when I do they are not hard to use they feel fine.

Everyone down voting and disagreeing with my post show why emotions and illiteracy are a huge problem when trying to have factual arguments. I never said hand cannons where not good. Hand cannons are the best primary in the game. They have insane aim assist, huge hit boxes, the ability to peak shot, easy to manage recoil and they’re obviously insanely strong. I’m not arguing against any of that. I said they are the least forgiving primary in the game… because they are. If you miss a shot with an SMG or auto rifle your TTK doesn’t drop by much, you’re only missing out on some damage and can re correct your aim. The same goes for pulses and scouts but to a lesser extent. The most forgiving guns in the games are SMGs and auto rifles BECAUSE you have the ability to miss and still land a kill. I’m not saying SMGs and autos are strong or broken. I’m only talking about weapon forgiveness. These weapons forgive you for missing shots. Hand cannons are the least forgiving weapon in the game because your TTK drops SIGNIFICANTLY when you miss a shot. Am I saying hand cannons are bad? No. They have a ridiculous amount on strengths and this one weakness is completely countered by the fact they’re the best primary to peak shot with. The shot you miss does matter when you have the ability to shot from cover. BUT Hand cannons, based on numbers and FACT, ARE THE LEAST FORGIVING PRIMARY IN THE GAME. Sorry if you disagree but you’re wrong.

That’s why, whenever possible, take them out of cover or wait for them to get out of cover before engaging on a 1v1. You either get in their face while praying that they don’t have a slug, or wait for them to make a mistake and get them by surprise. Of course, the more skilled the handcannon user is, the less likely it is that he will make this mistakes. But eventually everyone makes a wrong decision.

Then, by this logic, wouldn’t bows be the least forgiving? I mean, if you can fire two hand cannon shots in the time it takes me to draw and fire an arrow, and if it takes 3 hand cannon hits to kill vs 2 arrows, bows TTK drops the most by missing one shot. If your being literal and only going by this one metric, which you keep saying your doing.
-
Actually yes you're correct. The spreadsheet I was looking at doesn't have bows listed as a primary weapon, but you're 100% correct. If you miss a bow shot your TTK is pretty much cut by almost 100% which would make them the least forgiving primary.
-
This is gibberish and argues exactly the opposite. Go grab that auto or smg and try to hold aim on target in this movement and get consistent crits to reach optimal ttk. This is so much harder than hitting three crits with a HC it’s not even a contest.
-
I pretty much always reach optimal TTK on SMGs. It's the primary gun I use in rumble. I always out gun hand cannons. If you can't do it that's another story, but the TTK still doesn't drop as much for SMGs or auto rifles regardless, they are forgiving.
