Bungie Stop Being Money Hungry
1. Forsaken should have been free for all Pc players(Steam).
When I made the switch from Xbox to PC(Steam), i thought the new expansion at the time would auto include Forsaken. It makes sense from a player standpoint at the time, but no i still needed to drop $40
for something I already owned on console. Keep in mind you know i bought it because I completed the campaign and unlocked majority of the exotics, just only missing a few, but no "GIVE US $40 for
something you completed".
2. Putting [b]OLD[/b] Content on NEW Nightfall-Gm's
This is really scummy behavior bungalows... why in the world would you constantly put forsaken nightfalls on and a new expansion. Ohh wait, i know, its so you could make more money for old content, which shouldn't even be relevant but you [b]Force[/b] players to buy it so they can play to get pinnacle weps and gear. It funny its not 1, 2-3 nightfalls behind a pay wall there would be for weeks. I couldn't play a whole playlist because i didn't own dated content?. Trust me that it pure scum right there i just spent $40 for a NEW expansion, then a year later another $40 for the Latest expansion but i still cant play nightfall because i dont own something that came out 3years ago...IN A LIVE SERVICE GAME that vaults content???
3. Making me pay $20 for The Portion People would want from Forsaken...
Tell me why you decided to say FOR MONTHS "year forsaken will be free" then turn around 2 days before at tell us year "Campaign will be free not the Raid, exotics, or dungeon". You know I'm actually sad i gave you money for your 30 years celebration, you wile me with old school weps, watered down menagerie, and ghallahorn. Then moment before the 7th you flip me off and tell me give us MORE MONEY.
I dont know, Im just hurt. This company should have never partnered with activision because something happened there that made you guys stop caring. Caring about the players, and wither our game is the best, but its just feels like all you want is money like activision and you dont care if it hurts the players you supported you since halo 1. Im not buying Witch queen sorry, honestly id like my money back for 30th anniversary because you guys made me not want to play anymore.

Despite having ‘mobile’ in the title, all games with microtransactions fall under the same old song and dance. And now they’re monetizing all future dungeons. Is this what the player base wants? Are we really going to support this? Do you know WHY they made Destiny free to play? Because a free to play game yields better profit, and people go with ‘Hey it’s free, and buying microtransactions supports them. They need to be paid somehow.’ That is psychologically manipulating you. They want to wring you all that you’re worth. Don’t kid yourself. PLEASE educate yourself, it’s so important that we stop supporting this INSANE practice. Devil’s advocate: Forsaken should be free at this point. Just saying. It’s outdated for the most part. Or heavily discounted, you’re getting a raid and a dungeon. Meh. Truth bomb: no game transfers between pc and console (maybe I should say no ‘modern’ or mainstream game). It is what it is. Hell nothing I know of transfers between consoles either.

2 通の返信It's a live service game so things are going to come and go even on a whim. As for the monetary side of things........a lot of you forget that Bungie is a business first and game developer second. Money has to come from somewhere or you won't have anything to play at all. They didn't water menagerie down, they took the basis of it and used it for the 6 man activities. Gjallarhorn is actually busted right now. You were all told before hand your expansions wouldn't follow you to different platforms. That's a licensing / certification issue I believe which is I think out of Bungie's hands. Take it up with Sony and Microsoft on that one. So sure Bungie in some areas are seriously milking the market (Nostalgia sells well and you've all proven to be suckers for it).....but some things are simply out of their hands.

Yeah, this is one of the major reasons why I hard time getting people into Destiny. First of all, it just throws them in there, and learning the story is gonna be extremely confusing for them. And second of all, when they see all the activities and notice they’re all locked behind separate paywalls, they’re probably just gonna quit right then and there. It’s almost as obnoxious as a -blam!- mobile game. 😂

Yeah, good luck with your title. Some things Bungie does I understand, other things are just really mind-boggling, but at the end of the day it is their game and they will do whatever they feel like doing. Bungie is more about being a business than a company and they are in business to make money like any other business. It's upper management that is the problem and where the blame actually belongs if anything. The thing about all this, the only thing Activision is really to blem for, in reality, was giving Bungie a taste of what they could be making and they ran with that.

18 通の返信It shouldn’t cost upwards of $100 dollars in order to join in on this game. Has anyone here ever tried to get a friend to get into Destiny? Because it feels like you’re the devil on their shoulder being like “yeah, this one costs $40, that one’s $70 and the others are $20-$30. Get it so we can play together.” Love this game, but there is just so much dlc for the new players to buy at once if they want to be up to date. Kind of gives Destiny a bad image in the general gaming community because of it too.

xbroggiexにより編集済み: 12/16/2021 1:03:36 AMI don't know why in your first point you find it preposterous that you have to buy the DLC again on PC, considering that you can't buy anything on say Xbox/Playstation and have it transfer over to steam. For your second point the Nightfalls are on rotation and will eventually have a DLC required strike, sure Bungie could make all NF's F2P but they don't have to and you aren't owed that at all. For your final point they already stated in the exact same post when they mentioned Forsaken being vaulted that the Campaign would be exclusively be going F2P while the rest of the content in the DC is staying and will require a purchase of a pack to access. So no they didn't turn around at the last minute and be like "lol you gotta buy it btw", if you didn't research it thats your own fault for not looking up what you can and cannot access which is easily available to view on this very site. This seems more like a post to complain about the fact you have to pay money for things on another platform when this has been the norm for about... 15 years or more?

My biggest concern is the way this game is modeled. Buy DLC's and content packs like a normal live service game but has the monetization of eververse like a F2P game. Any of you remember how they defended the enormity of ornaments/ships/sparrows/ghosts/shaders/emotes/finishers being bought through eververse instead of earned in game by saying it would pay for content creation? What happened to that? Oh that was a lie just to make you feel better and distract you from the reality that they are a business first and developer second. This mentality is why you see games go downhill. I am old enough to remember game companies that were gamers first and put out highly polished games instead of using gamers as free labor for bug/beta testing after the game was purchased. They focused on the importance of their fan base, and the pure success of the game is what lead to more quality content and extra content being bought instead of the drive to bloat some fat cat stockholders pocket. When you focus on making a game solely for money the game quality suffers. Take a look at EA, Bioware, Blizzard, or Activision... They are prime examples of how companies run games into the ground over greed. On the other hand look at Square Enix and see what happens when a company focuses more on quality of the game bringing in money. FFXIV is a prime example. It went from a horrible launch at 1.0 to now one of the largest, most successful, and highly praised RPGMMO's in the world. Fans buy cosmetics in the game to support a great company because they feel the love the designers have for the game and not because of shady business tactics. Bungie could learn MANY things from Yoshi P about how to make money without alienating your customer/fan base.

While there are come valid criticisms, I think you are focusing on the wrong things: 1. You want Forsaken to be free on Steam because you bought it on Xbox, that's not how the world works. That's like buying a movie to view on Youtube, then expecting it to be free if you want to watch the same movie on another site. Steam is also a company that needs to make money. I also find it interesting you only say it should be free on Steam instead of other platforms, almost like you are hyper-focused on issues that only affect you. Nevertheless, this isn't how it works. 2. Complaining about Forsaken Nightfalls being the current seasonal rotation for GMs is petty and narrowsighted. Not only is Hallowed Lair featured for the first time in the Nightfall rotation, but this is how the game has worked for the entirety of the Destiny franchise, including D1. Are you saying the only GM Nightfalls for the entire year should be Glassway, Proving Grounds, The Disgraced, Devil's Lair, and Fallen S.A.B.E.R? Or are you suggesting the only Nightfalls should be free to play? That would be absurd. 3. When they talked about Forsaken being vaulted back in October, they said the CAMPAIGN would be free, not the raid or dungeon, it was clearly stated in their bungie.net post. https://www.bungie.net/en/Explore/Detail/News/50752 Any expectation you set for yourself about getting the raid and dungeon for free is completely on you. On top of that, Bungie seems to be moving in a direction that allows you to selectively buy the content you want to buy. Having the Forsaken Pack be $20 suggests to me that endgame pieces of content will go for $10 as standalone items to purchase. I think the biggest valid complaint that people have is the high price for the 30th Anniversary Pack, which is understandable. Looking at it from Bungie's perspective, knowing they are losing out on their typical Fall revenue from a yearly expansion, they needed something to fill in the gap, and I think filling the event with a ton of cosmetics to increase the price was a pretty smart move on their part. I think where they went wrong is that they should have done a better job outlining how dungeons will be purchasable as standalone content moving forward. I suspect when Witch Queen releases, we will be able to buy the dungeon along with the Gjallarhorn quest for $10, which falls in line with pricing for something like the Forsaken Pack. If Bungie would have just made that point clear back with the 30th Anniversary Pack was announced, I think less people would have had an issue, even if they knew they would have to wait 3 months if they only wanted the dungeon.

The game's a distraction and apart from Bungie's rock 'n' roll not the worst. Why not being "greedy" too? There are sales and alternative resellers. You can save money, if you are patient. Every critic in here cares about Destiny 2. He wouldn't be here if it would not be like that. Everyone deserves fun, especially in times like these. Check your options and don't be that tough to yourself. Pardon Bungie, - they are their own victim. And stop fighting, it's not worth it. Not because of a game.

They should make so if you buy the next expanse you get access to everything that is previously in the game. I always wonder if they piss people off when they realize they purchased content this is mostly unplayable and is being removed?

That’s probably the quickest way steam, Xbox and Sony would kick destiny off it and no more pc/Xbox/PlayStation destiny community. And before anybody gets smart with me yes I was be sarcastic.
