If the game had a 200 rpm hand cannon that shot cinder blocks from 50m away, people would absolutely be complaining about it.
But instead it is a "sidearm", therefore complaining about it is taboo. "Really? as soon as a sidearm is a little bit strong you complain about it?" Just like with Dead mans tale even when it was egregiously overtuned. But it was a "scout rifle" so it was immune to complaints even though it functioned nothing like a traditional scout rifle.

And no this is not me complaining about forerunner. Im undecided on if I think it's op or not. Im just saying if it was a "hand cannon" a lot more people would complain

Not only is movement absurd, but abilties are currently not as strong as they used to be to counter them. No more nerfs, what needs to happen first is buffs to much needed archetypes, then we can weed out what needs to be nerfed. Bro the way you worded it is UBER confusing. I’m not surprised people think your saying it needs a nerf. Same here, until the passage at the end.

14 通の返信Why are you comparing a special weapon to infinite ammo primaries? Compare it to shotguns, snipers, fusion rifles etc, as that’s what it’s competing against. When compared appropriately, it’s not actually that above curve at all. Every time you get 3 tapped by the magnum, just remember it could’ve been a one shot from; A sniper, shotgun or fusion. Then put your lid back on and chill out.

1 返信It’s fine. It takes special ammo and does terrible damage if you miss. Not to mention the recoil makes it hard to hit crits on moving targets at max RoF on controller. I’d complain if it was a Handcannon because it’s a pistol not a revolver, and we already have too many exotic handcannons in the game. Surprise Attack and Tricksleeves are both really cool with it. Also, anyone who hasn’t used tricksleeves with Devil’s Ruin’s beam needs to try it out.

Only reason I’m not complaining is it’s special ammo. You’re likely giving up a shotgun or sniper for a suboptimal kill time with better accuracy and range. If it was primary, I’d definitely have something to say about it.

I’m not complaining about it, I’ve said for many years that they should have an exotic hand cannon that would be the only magazine fed hand cannon that would be the halo 1 pistol. They did that but wisely made it a special ammo using sidearm. Much like back in halo though, the fact you rack the slide every time is making my teeth itch, and think about that cutscene from Metal Gear Solid 3 where you first encounter Ocelot thinking he’s king -blam!- with that makarov until he causes a malfunction and Snake bounces his head off the floor.

Irregardless, I can say that if all Hand Cannons were as good as this thing, but still used primary ammo, I would definitely be saying they're OP without question. I think the only thing stopping Forerunner from being unquestionably OP is that it takes Special ammo, and its catalyst requires that you trade 6 shots every time to activate it. But even then, I think it may be a bit too overtuned. Although I haven't used it much myself yet. I've been too busy enjoying the BxR.

8 通の返信But we already have a handcannon that uses special ammo. You can ohk people with a simple empowering rift or a CWL mod and HeF. I haven't seen people complain about erianas vow for a while or ever really. So I don't think the complaints would be different in terms of how forerunner is in pvp. I think it has a good spot in pvp but has some drawbacks. (Have to land crits and pace your shots) if your landing bodies with forerunner you may as well just throw away your special ammo. You have got to land that 3 tap and also don't spam the trigger to fast. It succeeds at range and can have very manageable recoil. It also seems to have a good hit box. You can peakshoot with it. A drawback I noticed was at very far range or at regular long range. If you try to tangle up against a sniper I felt at a disadvantage. One thing people need to realize is how much a sniper is in control of the engagement, it boils down to if the sniper can hit his shot. The flinch and other elements to that engagement is for the most part secondary, while the sniper hitting or missing is primary. Against a pulse at range I felt fine. As soon as you're at the range where they experience damage falloff I typically won. The two pulse rifles that gave me the most trouble were the Bxr and the messenger. Against scouts it depends on the range. If your trying to duel against a jade rabbit or dmt on widows walk opening sight line then you won't win. They still out range you. You also need to make sure you have plenty of ammo, most specials only need 1 bullet or pellet to kill you, you need 3. So if you burn ammo to fast you may not have enough to get a 3 tap. The bodyshot damage isn't great. When I played against one I wasn't to afraid of it. You just need to be aware of the green sight and play to your guns strengths. If you have a handcannon in ideal range you can beat a forerunner. The scope isn't the best for close range when a lot of sliding other handcannon related things are happening. If you have a smg and catch a forerunner in close range you will win (especially if you're using tarrabah or mutimach, the trials smg is also really good). My experience might be different then yours. I play on last gen. You play on PC with a mouse and keyboard. All in all people would probably complain not solely because of pvp but because it would've been yet another exotic handcannon...we have way to many of them now and most of them are from d1. Crimson doesn't count it's just red death. I'm glad it's a sidearm. But what we really need is a new exotic pulse rifle. The last one was vigilance wing. If you try to reply that this isn't the case just start listing off exotic pulse rifles and you will see my point...
