Lately I find myself avoiding activities that have champions in them because at this point I’m simply playing for enjoyment. Don’t get me wrong… anything under 1320 you can probably just over power the champions. Although, it would be nice to play high end game activities without the burden of being forced to equip champion mods. As far as weapons, I already have the best this season has to offer. So to have fun I’d rather play with the weapons I find exciting. Not mandatory.
I understand that champions were created to act as instruments to shift the meta. I also understand that the meta shifting is necessary for the developers to allow players the beneficial opportunity to use a variety of weapons.
However, I absolutely love new content that presents a healthy challenge that doesn’t involve champions so I get to play with whatever my imagination and creativity can come up with. I simply can’t be the only guardian that wishes to play with a particular loadout and can’t due to handicapping my fireteam because I’m not using champion mods.
I dream of the day I can go into a GM nightfall with my own loadout. My imaginations best combating the best of the darkness of the universe. After roughly 2 years now of champions and artifact mods it’s a great joy and pleasure to be able to simply play with whatever my heart desires. Perhaps one day the by the travelers light we guardians will return back to the days where we could use whatever we wanted all the time. I truly miss them.

Only having auto barrier is the one of the most idiotic decisions Bungie could make. If we could just slot them into whatever guns we have on then they could be fun. You’d still have to fight them as intended. Stun them with whatever primary because it doesn’t matter at all or take down the barrier with any primary because it also does not matter what type of primary is used to do these things. Forced seasonal PVE metas are dumb as -blam!-. Sure the perks like particle deconstruction are cool but it gets really boring after a while. Last season was season of the grenade launcher this time is season of the fusion rifle. Those perks aren’t the problem here though. Give us our own options for champions. If we like stunning them with hand cannons let us do that. All year round. If we like stunning with bows let us do that. All year round. Let us shoot enemies with the guns we feel good using. This seemingly won’t change though so every season we just have to use the same loadout for months until they let us decide which guns we use for stunning champions.
I dream of the day I can go into a GM nightfall with my own loadout.
Unfortunately, Bungle will make sure that dream never comes. They can't have us deciding how we want to play the game - they continue to think they know best in all things.

1 返信i dont mind champions as much as i do the mods themselves, with us getting basically 2 new weapon archetypes within these next 3 months (Legendary trace rifles + Glaives), we need more champion mods to even it out, this season gives us 8 anti champ weapons, while there are 16 weapon types in the game itself, so half of those weapons are essentially useless unless they intrinsically have anti champion on them. I think the best solutions to this problem is two things: A. Weekly Anti-Champion perks rotation, basically, the artifact no longer has the first 5 mods, they are just intrinsically enabled on those weapon types for that week until it rotates to different guns, this keeps champions extremely fresh to fight, while still allowing strong mods like focusing lens and high cost anti champ weapons like overload sword to exist. B. Just add more mods, a ton of perks on the artifact are just flat out worthless, replace them with champion mods.

I’d like SOME things unburdened by Champions. It is VERY unpleasant being locked into the seasonal meta for an activity that is not meant to be endgame. It basically makes 2/3 of guns off limits for a whole season which doesn’t feel like how Destiny should be played.

Unfortunately that reason didn't work - all it felt was stifling, arbritary and overly restrictive. What really exacerbated it was they quite literally put Champions (champions of garbage design - it feels wrong to give a bad game design feature some praiseworthy name) in everything. And I do mean everything. Every last flipping piece of PvE content has the same sorry 3 mechanics in. This is all PvE is now.

CookieNikiにより編集済み: 12/12/2021 2:18:00 PMChampions strongly limit the player options in this game. We are limited to less than a handful of weapons for three months (six months in this season) because of champions. They've become a nuisance and extremely boring. By now they should've been either revamped or let players apply champion mods to any weapon they want.

11 通の返信Tldr Champion are too strong for me to use basic mods but are willing to complain on the forums instead of being a decent team player

3 通の返信Bungie: We dont want everyone using the same FUN weapons all the time! also Bungie: We’re implementing a system where everyone’s using the same weapons that are UNFUN… Logic?

3 通の返信I also find champion mods a level of complexity that takes away fun vs adding fun. If nothing else, I think any exotic should work as if it had all anti-champion mods. Everybody has an exotic equipped, so you might need to use that instead of your other two slots against champions, fair enough.

6 通の返信Wrong just because you want to clutch 1 weapon In every activity doesn’t mean champions are bad. Champions are incredibly easy to deal with but add an extra layer of difficulty. Would you rather have year 1 locked loadouts?
-
1 返信Clearly the champions are the way they are moving forward with anything meaningful in this game. There is patrols, regular crucible, gambit and strikes. Low level nightfalls if I am not mistaken have no champions, and are equivalent to D1’s nightfalls. As far as anything new they release they will keep adding these champions and dictating the meta of the season. I have made the decision to no longer pay for anything they make going forward. I’ll still play any of the basic content and remember when I cared to keep up with this game. Maybe that’s where you are too?

I also understand that the meta shifting is necessary for the developers to allow players the beneficial opportunity to use a variety of weapons.
I always see people bringing this up, and it's true that champion mods mean the meta shifts with each season. But it also means that the meta within a season is really rigid, and gets stale fast. I enjoy using fusions this season, and GLs last season, but it got old very quickly. I'm sick of using bows, autos, and fusions for basically every endgame activity. Sure, technically you can spread all your mods across your fireteam, but that's just going to make your team weaker overall.

3 通の返信Absolutely. Diverse loadout decisions should have stayed the mainstay. Champions are restricting

3 通の返信There was something someone mentioned in another post, but it was basically, "I can run a Master Nightfall, Master Lost Sector, Legendary Astral Alignment, Master Dungeon, and through all these activities use the exact same loadout." Champions pigeon-hole you into a loadout, and it kills the replayability if you're trying to grind something.

Althanashにより編集済み: 12/11/2021 10:34:40 PM"Perhaps one day the by the travelers light we guardians will return back to the days where we could use whatever we wanted all the time. " Sooo back to an SMG / GL meta? What most of you forget is Bungie use the champion system to keep their artificial difficulty alive.........not to mention the power throttle ontop of that. Keeps the game moderately challenging for a broad spectrum of people instead of letting things run wild......and getting stale 10x faster than it already does.

The only time you NEED anti champ mods are in GMs or solo lost sectors. Anywhere else it’s helpful but you can easily overpower them. Also you wanting to go into a GM with any loudout? That literally makes no sense.

1 返信I feel like Bungie has already put down the groundwork for a compromise system. For example, Bungie includes certain “Weapon reloader” perks on the seasonal artifact that makes them cheaper than normal. Easy solution for allowing diverse loadouts but still encouraging others would be to allow all weapons to use any anti champion mod of your choice, but the anti champion mods on the seasonal artifact would be cheaper. Like this season, bows have overload for the cost of 1 energy. Bungie could always allow bows to have overload in future seasons, but at a cost of 3 energy instead since its not one of the seasonal mods. TL;DR - Give weapons access to all anti champion mods, but make them cost more energy if they aren’t on the seasonal artifact.
