7 通の返信I'm just going to leave this here: https://www.techopedia.com/definition/27039/free-to-play-f2p
Free to play (F2P) refers to a business model for online games in which the game designers do not charge the user or player in order to join the game. Instead, they hope to bring in revenue from advertisements or in-game sales, such as payment for upgrades, special abilities, special items, and expansion packs.
https://www.lexico.com/en/definition/free-to-play
Relating to or denoting an arrangement in which basic access to a game is granted without charge while more advanced features must be paid for.
https://www.cyberdefinitions.com/definitions/F2P.html
F2P is an abbreviation used in online gaming with the meaning "Free To Play." F2P games do not require users to pay to participate. However, F2P players are typically only allowed access to very basic features of the game. Upgrades to higher levels, or to gameplay-enhancing features usually have to be paid for.
9 通の返信Wow, having to actually pay for a company’s product? That’s insane. Seriously, you don’t have the right to complain about the quality of something that’s free, and having to pay to make it better. You don’t deserve anything for free, and game companies are still companies, so their goal is to sell stuff.

4 通の返信90% is a bit hyperbolic. Sure maybe that number is true if you’re talking about if you’ve ever had to pay to play it, but for a new light player joining the game today? That’s just not an accurate assessment. The top and bottom subclass trees are free. every patrol area (Europa, Moon, Nessus, EDZ, Cosmodrome, Tangled Shore, Dreaming City) are all fee to explore, do public events, go through lost sectors, complete basic bounties. Every strike is free playable from the regular strike playlist. With the exception of Trials the Crucible playlists are free, including Iron Banner. Gambit is free. The Vault of Glass Raid is free. Holiday event activities like Festival of the Lost, Solstice of Heroes, and the Dawning are free. The new 6-player activity with the 30th Anniversary is free. The mission for Dead Man’s Tale is free. The Prophecy Dungeon is free. And starting this week until Feb the Forsaken campaign is free. And before t got vaulted the Red War campaign was made free. Is Destiny completely free to play? No. But there is a large chunk of it that can be played for free. More than just 10%.

1 返信free play is supposed to give you away to play with friends and get them interested so they buy content

Doesn’t mean you don’t have to purchase expansions. The base game is free so people can experience it and then decide if it’s for them. I know it’s a hard concept to understand.

Some people want them & see value in what's being sold. Some people like yourself don't see the value & that's fine. I don't pay for content every month. I get the yearly pass & I personally feel with all my play time that I have gotten my money's worth.

29 通の返信LittleWitchAuzにより編集済み: 12/10/2021 11:42:35 AMYeah. It’s hilarious that gacha games are more free than Destiny 2. Hell, FFXIV has a trial that has more content than all of Destiny 2 after buying expansions. Yeah. I’d never recommend this to anyone if they ask how is it. I always tell them don’t waste your time. It’s a game about losing progress every few months and having to pay to get it back and over time you lose content you pay for. At this point, I’d consider all of current Destiny 2 as much of a scam as NFTs and Crypto currencies.

1 返信I’ve been reading through this post and I wanna give my two cents. I’m seeing a lot of people argue the game isn’t free to play because of the amount of content and negative experiences that comes as a FTP player. I partially disagree, and as another poster pointed out, this game is 100% classified as a free to play game. However, I think the OP and others have a solid argument about the extent of FTP and the experience that comes with it. I think OPs title and argument would have been more effective if it was written and phrased differently. Such as: The FTP experience in Destiny is terrible. Or: FTP players are gated from to much meaningful content. I understand OPs argument and opinion, I even agree with it, I believe they just failed on the delivery. I recently had some IRL friends start playing the game and it made me realize how terrible the FTP experience is. It also made me realize just how much monetization Bungie has on their content. In my opinion, the price of the season pass and expansions could easily be dropped to be made more affordable, considering they already make a huge profit from eververse. Although the game in undoubtedly classified as a FTP game. I feel it would be more fair and realistic to be classified as a Free to TRY game.

22 通の返信Because it isn’t FTP. Bungie uses the business model that is common among MMOs, which seeks to reduce the barriers to (re) entry by new players and returning players. 1. Old content that has lost its relevance is given away for free. This allows new players to try the game without risk. While giving the developer a chance to get the new player invested in the game, or a return player to get reacquainted. 2. The game makes it’s money by selling (monetizing) cosmetics (MTX) and by selling new content. This allows the devs to make money without having to degrade the game loop itself with pay-to-win schemes and pay-to-progress schemes (Warframe). 3. All MMOs use some variation of this business model. Destiny’s “MMO-lite”/Game-as-service competition that don’t either engage in pay-to-progress like Warframe, or they are starving for content (The Division 2) or are dying games (Anthem, Marvel’s Avengers) TLDR: These games are some of the most expensive to make and maintain in the industry. You will not get to play them unless you pay money….or the game is made impossibly grindy to squeeze money out of players trying to buy their time back (Warframe).

1 返信Go watch dark side royalty's video on destiny's ( ftp ) model. It's a great explanation.

5 通の返信After paying for d1 and d2 before anything was free I don't feel bad one bit. Least you don't have to pay 60 bucks on top of the dlc to play now.
-
13 通の返信Nothing in this world is free. But you can play Destiny without paying one single cent for the game.
