Pass this on Hunter Dodge is absolutely wrecked Are Bungie Devs retuning the abilities in hope that it culls all Hunters ? Absolutely destroyed the neutral game & use of Dragon’s Shadow/Gamblers combo 18 seconds to regain Gambler’s Dodge Absolute trash! Absolutely destroyed the neutral game & use of Dragon’s Shadow/Gamblers combo Firstly Here are the Hunter Dodge changes listed in the TWAB: No longer breaks projectile tracking. •Marksman's Dodge Tier 10 Mobility cooldown increased from 11s to 14s. Base cooldown unchanged at 29s. •Gambler's Dodge Tier 10 Mobility cooldown increased from 11s to 18s. Base cooldown duration from 29s to 38s. The biggest frustration of being an Endgame PvE Hunter main is the lack of viable endgame build options. I was surprised the other day to see a Grandmaster guide claiming something other than Omnioculus was meta for Hunters. As a Hunter it is challenging to find teams for endgame activities and to feel useful with so few good options. We simply don't has as many viable options as the other classes at this level. I fear that the Gambler's Dodge changes dramatically nerfs Omnioculus - (arguably the only viable GM build for Hunters). Bungie themselves state that the changes are aimed to reduce spam in the Crucible, and that the harsher changes for Gambler's Dodge are as a result of it's link to melee regen. Bungie seems to be focussing solely on the 1 hit kill abilities such as throwing knives or the Arcstrider melee, but are forgetting about the utility melee belonging to the Void Hunter class. Invis is intrinsic to the Nightstalker class, and is essential to the Omni build. Changing the dodge cooldown from 11s to 18s at 100 mobility dramatically nerfs the effectiveness of Omni builds in Endgame PvE. This damage is only increased by the reality that, for many activities, Omni is our only viable option. In conclusion, the core problem is that Hunters have very limited Endgame PvE options. However, the issue with the dodge changes is that they severely damage our only remaining option. Hopefully this (30th Anniversary ‘season’ update is just a Labs Experiment), so Bungie can determine how to balance the upcoming 3.0 void changes. (We see a good amount of new aspects/fragments/mods and bigger changes to intrinsic class abilities with WQ.) Edited: So I could add more input

  • So… I’m not a Hunter main, but I do use him to get IB bounties done as prep for WQ. With the ability bounty I’ve been having to use him way more. He’s got bad stats, nothing MW etc. (because I don’t use him) He’s got I think T6 mobility (I know that’s too low) and I feel like dodge is fine. It’s usually up when I need it and I haven’t had a situation where I went “oh no! If I was just T7 mobility that would’ve turned out different. Dodge is fine in PvP! There’s some bad stuff in PvE for it (like all class abilities) main thing being the projectile tracking thing, that should break in PvE (but Bungie has stated that they’ll change that)

If you read further down (at my other reply) You’ll see why it (Gamblers Dodge) so engrained in my play style, high mobility, resilience & recovery (using Dragons Shadow for weapon reload & other bonuses) & why I use it (not crutch it) to help with (ironically) accessibility/dexterity issues It might seem ok to folk that don’t really notice/need it But for me, personally it’s a huge game changing nerf! I used to main Titan on D1, but that’s now impossible, & learning Warlock (that’s basically starting again)

  • Listen man, it sucks what happened to you, but a 1 in a million won’t change anything. You got over a huge hurdle once, I believe you can adapt to a 7 second change. And if you leave that’s fine, no one should judge you. I was just stating my thoughts. As always eyes up guardian

Cheers I overcome far more difficult -blam!- in my life, so whilst it sounds daft, it’s just annoying (having spent 4 years getting used to & training muscle memory to actually help me) I sit down to game for pleasure Not to get shot to -blam!-, just because Bungie can’t balance the game From 11 to 18 seconds on the only real in built base ability that Hunters have (to get them outta line of sight & help recover damage) Meanwhile, Titans & Warlocks hide behind shields & recover in rifts It’s nothing to do with shotgun/stompee/ape’ing /shatter diving etc (I never use them) And everything to do with simple things like reload, bumping up handling & survivability Building my armour to allow this compensation The things that allow me to play the game
Lestat Phoenix This post makes me feel good. Knowing the tears that you legitimately shed writing your opinion. Crucible has never felt so good.
your actual bias against & hatred towards a gaming subclass, is frankly, pathetic! I shed no tears at all, If you could comprehend the trauma & effort I’ve had to go through to even pick up a controller again Seen, experienced & done things I’ve done in my former life You would cry for your mummy I play on a Hunter simply because it allows me the dexterity I don’t have anymore - due to a VBIED (that’s a bomb to you) that near ended my life, broken/torn multiple bones & muscles/tendons/ligaments & damaged C6-C8 nerve root in my neck It’s this nerve branch that sends/receives signals through the brachial plexus (a network of nerves in the shoulder that carries movement and sensory signals from the spinal cord to the arms and hands. Median nerve: Starts in nerve roots C6-T1 and enables movement in the forearm and parts of the hand. Radial nerve: Begins in nerve roots C5-T1 and controls various muscles in the upper arm, elbow, forearm and hand. Ulnar nerve: Rooted in C8-T1, it allows for fine motor control of the fingers. I was actually given a controller (a Wii wheel) & Mario Kart as part of physical rehab to fire up motor sensors (for grip) & to laugh at my appalling driving & eventually an Xbox style controller for familiarity (used as an interface for small-scale UAV/SUGV as part of the Cargo Pocket Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (CP-ISR) program. Go get someone to read this to you & explain Now, after many years & multiple operations, I can walk, run, drive, swim, ski, fire a gun - but I’m always gonna have fine motor control issues (vitally important for twitch fibre gaming) I couldn’t give a flying fig about your opinion of PvP I don’t shotgun ape, I’ve never used Shatterdive in PvP But the combination of Hunter, Dragons Shadow & building high mobility armour allowed me to play through PvE & dabble in PvP (I legit earned Luna/Recluse/Redrix/Randy’s etc in spite of my wonky aim/random finger movement) I don’t cheat/use 3rd party peripherals Just a base standard DS4 controller (over the last 4 years of D2, grinding out decent armour stats/exotic set up combo allowed me to build for reload, get out of danger, increase my handling/movement for a short time) Might not seem a game changer, but it really was! I’ve supported for this game throughout its IP Including this 30th/WQ deluxe & I’ve quickly found out that I’m really gonna struggle with accessibility (cheers for that Bungie) For reasons above, I really struggle with Titan & Warlock (I would have to start again & reset any muscle memory & game style) This could be Guardian Down Edit 2: typo
