They just feel so lack luster to shoot at anything with a decent health pool.
I like trace rifles a lot, but ager's is pretty much the only one that feels legitimately good to use in pve and that's because it has very strong enemy clear.
Give them a range between 20-40% more damage please, because as a special ammo weapon I find myself disappointed in their usability.

Also Coldheart needs a buff and Prometheus Lense needs a rework. The former literally only has one perk, and the latter is literally a worse version of the new legendary trace rifle. I’m all for a Trace Rifle buff.

All of them need a 20-30% damage bonus, even if it was largely centered around a critical multiplier increase. Coldheart should have a longer ramp-up but very good dps. Wavesplitter just needs a way to generate its own orbs. Ruinous Effigy needs a longer duration on its debuff and revert some of the changes to its orb. Prometheus’s Heat field needs to be more consistent in damaging enemies behind the target.

2 通の返信This feedback is no doubt a thing because Trace Rifles lack proper identity. The only two I use are Agers and Div. Div being an obvious support weapon and Agers being a highly synergistic ad clear weapon. What purpose do other Trace Rifles serve? Feels a lot like the Machine Gun situation.

6 通の返信I'd say it depends on the trace rifle, but In general they could use a 15-20% damage buff and then the worst 2 (cold heart and wavesplitter) need some buffs or reworks. Cold heart need vorpal and maybe triple tap for it to be a solid dps weapon. Wavesplitter should get a catalyst called prism. The beam now over penetrates targets and will split targeting up to 2 targets within 30 meters of the main target.

Double special builds also drop more heavy.

I want to see a trace rifle pve meta. Coldheart is designed around high, single target dps, and that's just about all it can do. It always feels sad to see something that can only do one thing being easily outperformed by other things that can do way more.

I was kind of thinking the same thing earlier. Trace rifles feel just a bit too weak. To me they don't feel that far off from where they should be. I can't decide if I want to think that maybe their intended "function" is red bar health clear? They feel mostly okay versus red bars, but yeah, yellows (unless it's Agers) and you feel like you've overstayed your welcome lol.
