Hi. Me and my friends found out in the TWAB about the intend on changing ST0MP-EE5 and just wanted to give our feedback in case theres a slight chance this reaches someone at Bungie. We talked about this a lot and seen some videos on it from the PVP youtubers and whats their take on the matter and we are afraid this is going to become another mistake on changing the game based on PVP feedback just like most of the time. Im not trying to force anything just to give some PVE players perspective.
None of us are Hunter mains and we agreed that theres a reason why ST0MP-EE5 and Bones of Aeo are one of the most used exotics on hunters in D1 and D2. The thing is its not OP and the reason we all use it nearly 100% of the timeis because the base hunter jump is just terrible to use if you are not used to playing the character daily. When we hop on our hunters to just get the weeklies or other things out of the way we dont want to end up falling everywhere or not being able to just jump up high enough to traverse the enviornment. If you would increase the jump height of the base jumps to be able to go around on the map and not feel like a grasshopper whos legs were broken in 20 different places im sure a lot of people would switch off from ST0MP-EE5. If you just gonna nerf it in the name of PVP balance the only thing you gonna achieve is losing a lot of PVP players will to play the hunter class alltogether. Hunters in PVE are weak enough already. Just think of a situation where you would want to use a hunter for end game content if you are not maining the character. Now think of a situation when you would want to use one without ST0MP-EE5 and fail jumping up a platform 20 times in a row making the other players wait around for you. It just makes you dont wanna play the class alltogether for not even being able to keep up with them. This exotic is the sole reason of why we hop on our hunters to play PVE content.
Again Im not speeking on everyones behalf, its just the opinion of me and my friends and maybe some more PVE players i dont know. Hope Bungie sees this. Feel free to give your feedback below, im curious to see others perspective too.

18 通の返信The base height is the same for all classes. That height is affected by Mobility stat. That stat so happens to be the Hunter class stat - high value giving a dual benefit to both Dodge cooldown AND jump height. So, the idea that Hunters specifically need extra jump height, of all classes, is absurd. Nor is PvE it's main use - a terrible choice for most PvE, a wasteful opportunity cost - but in PvP. And in PvP it is outright dominant. It is outright exploitative - it exploits a hack in the FoV and the lack of vertical sensitivity options that simply grant easy wins at the price of a jump. I hope it's thoroughly nerfed - and I play Hunter too - and made into PvE specific exotic for those rarer jumping platform puzzles.

We talked about this yesterday with the dungeon and a week prior while doing a GM. Because especially in most parkour, stompees is the ONLY reason hunters can actual jump or able to cut across distances that the other classes can cross with ease. Nerf the exotic and the BASE jump is god awful.

Hunters don’t have many op abilities (excluding shatterdive) and are supposed to be a movement focused class, yet at base hey don’t really compare to something like icurus dash warlocks which are vastly superior. The stomp ee5 leveled the playing field. As for Titans I think the return of twilight garrison would make it even for all classes.

Whether you want to call it OP or not, when a single exotic or build is this dominant and costs the player using it almost nothing? It’s a problem… and one that needs to be dealt with. Hunters are not weak. They are practically all you see in high level pvp play on console, and they are the most popular class.

I checked out when people started complaining about big jump pants. Like it's been around for a while, and people still haven't figured out that there's a vertical aspect at play in pvp and it's now suddenly a problem? Lunas/NF, recluse, oem, wormhusk and things of that nature I get. I didn't like the recluse nerf but I get it. This? Nah, not seeing it.
