I just tried to launch Destiny on my PC for the first time in a while, and was greeted with an offensive anti-cheat installer. There's absolutely no way I'm installing a rootkit on my PC to access a game, so I have a few questions.
1) Is this going away any time soon?
2) Is there any way to play without it and just be locked out of PVP? I don't use any cheats and I don't give half a -blam!- about PVP to begin with, but I enjoy the campaigns.
3) If there are no options for accessing the game without installing this thing, and you're not planning on getting rid of it, how can I go about getting a refund? I didn't agree to this when I purchased the game years ago, and you're arbitrarily denying me access unless I agree to install a piece of software I don't trust in the slightest.
1.) nope
2.) nope
3.) you'd have to work with whoever you purchased the game from (steam, microsoft, sony, etc) for a refund. good luck if it's been 'years'.
Stadia is now a free service and doesn't require any local software installation other than the Chrome browser. Destiny 2 may also be available through Xbox Cloud Gaming.
