But you don't wait every 3 minutes for an ashen wake grenade do you?

  • Ehhh depends on the amount of kills you get with the grenade.

You are missing the point I was trying to make. You can literally test how that's gonna feel, minus the cooldown, right now. Ashen wakes exotic effect, minus the instant detonation, is what flux grenade is gonna feel like. And more than likely, the other stickies are gonna follow flux grenade because they are borderline worthless as tracking grenades. They suck so bad without fastball and that's BECAUSE fast ball doesnt give them time to try and correct themselves. Its literally a detriment.

I haven't used ashen wakes for a long time, but they come intrinsically with fastball. They may have a slight correction but can't fully correct themselves before hitting a target due to their flight speed.

  • That's not how ashen wake works. It gives you faster velocity in exchange for losing the tracking on fusion grenades so you pretty much have to hit your target with it directly otherwise it misses. All sticky grenades Have proximity tracking where once within a set distance of the target it auto corrects or at least tries to. It's not like jotunn where it just goes towards the person you are aiming at, it has to be a set distance to them to start tracking. That's usually why it misses and when the grenade tries to quickly curve only after it gets near the target (it visually changes too). What I'm trying to say is, is that if you want to get a feel for how flux grenade will be after patch, just try ashen wake. Obviously they wont be getting auto detonation, but that doesnt stop you from seeing how it should function after the patch. I dont really have any good examples to bring up to explain this any better, but it removes tracking and increases velocity. It also has a high amount of aim assist (which flux grenades will be gaining after patch instead of tracking according to them) so it's kinda easy to hit. Trust me just put on ashen and you'll see what I mean.

It may only mimic Flux grenade WITH fastball. People who don't put on fastball will pretty much never land a hit and it's since ashen wakes have auto detonate, it is viable to hit the floor instead of going for a direct hit. The biggest thing about the Flux grenade change is going to be the cooldown, you may suck with it, or be a god and stick every person you see, but you'll be limited to one every 180 seconds. One round in Trials is 90 seconds, which means you'll average one grenade every 2 rounds. So is it really worth it to give up your grenade for having a chance at landing a ohk every 2 rounds? Maybe. After all, a single kill can be the difference between losing and winning especially in modes like Trials and Survival. It all comes down to the player to decide that. Me personally? I might just stick to Arc Bolt

  • Just a note, 180 seconds is going to be at tier 3 discipline as they said they only showed the abilities cooldowns at their "base." Which according to them is tier 3. So it's more than likely gonna drop to 100-120 seconds at tier 10.

  • Wich is still a lot. And also it means giving up on another stat.

  • That's still 2 minutes. Plus who even runs 100 discipline? Every Hunter out there is going for Mobility, Recovery and Intellect. Especially Intellect after the super timer changes.

  • 100 seconds, but that's excluding ability regen perks. So something like demolitionist and that perk that's getting buffed where you get a damage buff on grenade kills COULD become more potent. Also, intellect to me sounds less viable in endgame pvp now other than for getting your 1 super first due to the super changes. Cause if I'm gonna get only 1 anyways, getting it first when others likely wont be far behind doesnt seem to mean a whole lot. Not saying things will go this way, but who knows.
