Hello there. Just spent hours playing 35 games in a row to get my last pieces of loot that I needed. Here are the games and statisctical evidence, that might encourage other guardians know what's coming at them.
Some clarifications: I am an "average" level PvP player who is at 1330 gear level and has spent a lot of time getting good (not-sucking-that-badly would fit in better) at PvP, assembling a good gear and coming up with strategies. I exclusevly played solo que and I will count 0:5, 1:5 and 2:5 games as mismatches, while 3:5 and 4:5 will be counted as neck and neck. Here are the matches:
Game 1: me + 2 randos vs. duo + rando (loss, 0:5, mismatch)
Game 2: me + 2 randos vs. 3-stack (loss, 1:5, mismatch)
Game 3: me + 2 randos vs. 3 randos (1st win, 5:1, mismatch)
Game 4: me + 2 randos vs. duo + rando (loss, 2:5, mismatch)
Game 5: me + 2 randos vs. 3-stack (2nd win, 5:0, mismatch)
Game 6: me + 2 randos vs. 3-stack (loss, 2:5, mismatch)
Game 7: me + duo vs. dupm + rando (loss, 1:5, mismatch)
Game 8: me + 2 randos vs. 3-stack (3rd + extra card win, 5:1, mismatch)
Game 9: me + 2 randos vs. 3-stack (loss, 1:5, mismatch)
Game 10: me + duo vs. 3-stack (loss, 1:5, mismatch)
Game 11: me + 2 randos vs. 3 randos (loss, 1:5, mismatch)
Game 12: me + 2 randos vs. 3-stack (5th win, 5:3, fair)
Game 13: me + 2 randos vs. duo + rando (loss, 1:5, mismatch)
Game 14: me + 2 randos vs. 3-stack (loss, 0:5, mismatch)
Game 15: me + 2 randos vs. 3-stack (loss, 0:5, mismatch)
Game 16: me + 2 randos vs. 3 randos (loss, 3:5, fair)
Game 17: me + duo vs. 3 randos (6th win, 5:4, fair)
Game 18: me + 2 randos vs. duo + rando (loss, 1:5, mismatch)
Game 19: me + 2 randos vs. 3-stack (loss, 2:5, mismatch)
Game 20: me + 2 randos vs. 3-stack (loss, 0:5, mismatch)
Game 21: me + 2 randos vs. duo + rando (7th win, 5:1, mismatch)
Game 22: me + 2 randos vs. duo + rando (8th and last win, 5:4, fair)
Game 23: me + 2 randos vs. 3-stack (loss, 0:5, mismatch)
Game 24: me + 2 randos vs. 3 randos (loss, 1:5, mismatch)
Game 25: me + 2 randos vs. duo + rando (loss, 1:5, mismatch)

Game 27: me + 2 randos vs. 3 randos (loss, 2:5, mismatch)
Game 28: me + 2 randos vs. 3 randos (loss, 3:5, fair)
Game 29: me + 2 randos vs. 3-stack (loss, 1:5, mismatch)
Game 30: me + 2 randos vs. 3-stack (loss, 4:5, fair)
Game 31: me + duo vs. 3-stack (loss, 1:5, mismatch)
Game 32: me + 2 randos vs. 3-stack (loss, 2:5, mismatch)
Game 33: me + 2 randos vs. 3-stack (loss, 1:5, mismatch)
Game 34: me + 2 randos vs. 3 randos (loss, 0:5, mismatch)

Chance of having 3 randos face off against a 3-stack: 88.2% (15 out of 17 games)
Chance to lose due to mismatch: 85.7% (24 out of 28 games)
Ingame Trials engrams/loot earned: 0
These are some number Bungie doesn't talk about, nor do they want you to know them. They will tell you that everything is alright while they cater towards the steamers. They are the first ones to complain that normal people get some loot and say that it is unearned whilst rofl stomping lower-skilled players, but also are the first ones to cry and complain about when they get rofl stomped by others that are better than them. I highly discourage people from playin Trials of Osiris and rather encourage them to let this game mode die out. There is nothing truly of value to get here, the best loot is kept away from you and you are being given just some bread crumbs. The loot system is better than it was before, yet it is still terrible. Let the ones that are "good" at the game face each other off and watch them fall into desperation as they complain that the matches are too hard and just reply to them with WeLl ThEn JuSt GiT gUd At ThE gAmE.
EDIT:
Thank you all for your feedback. I have corrected Game 28 from being a mismatch to being fair. It was an error that occured after playing 35 games in a row and doing all of this at around 4am in the morning. Nevertheless the calculations done one paper still remain the same.
Now
To those that have been kind in their responses: Thank you for your honesty and your encouraging words. Though some of you disagreed with the results most of you agreed with the core message that the mode is flawed and that it needs quite a lot of work or that it should just best be left to die. I wish you all nothing but the best and a good stay in this game. I hope you will one day be able to leave it behind just as I am doing it right now.
To them that insulted me, belittled me, called me names, called me bad, called me dumb and twisted my words and stats so it fits their ideology: Congratulations. You have made it. I am leaving this game behind for good. There is not the tiniest thing left anymore why I would suffer this game any longer. When I paid for the game itself and for all the expansions I never expected the game to go free to play, but I was okay with it since I thought that I might give other players that enjoyment that I had. When they splitted from Activision I thought that now the predatory days were gone. When they took away that which I had paid for I thought that they would bring back things that were worth while. When they brought Transmog I was excited, just for it to drive me into a 2 month long break from the game. And now I am laughing at the idea that one should paid not just only for the expansion - yay even for the season pass - but also for some dumbs cosmetics no one asked for just to get access to 2 dungeons that may or may not bee good. The same with the 30 year anniversary pack, which has to be the biggest scam of all. Go endulge in your addicition. Go and believe Bungie that they are good and that they are doing their best when they clearly aren't. Go and get ideologies contrary to yours shoved down your throat, you seem to quite like it. Go and "hope" for something new and worth while, while the core of the studio is no more. And go and be the "good decent people" that you are, I am sure you must be liked by everyone around you. But let me tell you, who you are:
You are like a father who hits his 6 year old for not doing chores that are out of his capacity and costing him money while getting money from the state and hailing himself to be a good father before others.
You are like a priest who speaks of himself and how good he is and the the walks in the way of the Lord but spits on and kicks the homeless and the beggars.
You are absoultely right, I am nothing like you. I am not that an MLG player like you all are while stomping the ones far below you. I am not the one bearing false witness and twisting other peoples words. And most of all - I am nothing like you in character because I chose to walk another path. When that sad illusion around you starts to crumble and you realize that non of this was ever of importance I will not be there to kick you in the face, but I would be that guy who would try to comfort you. But it seems that this way of thinklng is not mutual. Now go your ways. Go and have that which you want. Go and share your likeness among your people, but be warned that it is not kindness you shall recieve from them. And now go ahead and mock me and laugh at me. But verily I say unto you, truly joyful laughter shall only be heared from him, who does not dwell amonst you anymore and who hast left all of that here behind. For that man is now a free man. Now let this post perish together with the next reset just like I shall perish from the game.
Sincerely yours
Haunter

Great post. Excellent reasons to continue not playing ToO or whatever they're calling it now. It's not like Bungie doesn't know - it's intentional. Once the F2P players figure out that they're just fodder being fed to streamers, Trials will die off again. Good riddance.

2 通の返信Working as intended. There is no possible way to win 7 games in a row against equally skilled players. The only way you get 7 wins in a row is by stomping lesser skilled players. The mode is built from the ground up around this. It needs scrapped and rebuilt around a new goal and progression system.

2 通の返信I don't really get those "You'll never go flawless with those stats playing solo" comments. It's not about going flawless, at least for me. I don't have the time nor the inclination to train enough to go flawless without serious help, and that's fine. Heck, I don't have 7-win streaks in basic control either. It's about winning at least some games. I'm not good, but I can play solo comp and win some lose some all day. But if Trials is just endless stompfest I'll just not play. And who's the real loser there?

4 通の返信To everyone who say: "dont play solo, get a team". How is it the players fault that bungies matchmaking favors 3-stack vs randoms? There are enough 3-stacks running around. The matchmaking should never allow 3-stack vs 3 randoms, period. Randoms should face randoms and stacks should face stacks. Thats it. Simple logic. But noooooo, bungie must give the 3-stacks a big advantage so they keep playing this -blam!- game mode. But one day there will be no randoms left to play against and the tryhards will only face tryhards. Then trials will be dead again and they do a reboot of it. Its like adding -blam!- on a pile of -blam!-. You absolutely know, that some day it will fall apart and you are buried under it, but you just ignore it and hope for the best. Its just plain stupid.
-
7 通の返信Just do what the rest of the solo's are doing, and stop playing trials. Solo queue is the only way the solo community will ever play this mode long term.
-
28 通の返信Its funny how most people are just ignorant and say well why not play in a stack. Not everyone can get a team so solo is the way to go. This man just put in the work to show you how the matchmaking from bungie is flawed. Stop it with the ignorant gamer response and actually respond with an actual brain.

Nice breakdown. What you describe is basically what I experienced in about 8 matches. It's sad really that Bungle is basically using solo players as fodder to keep the Trials Adept 3 stacks playing and padding those stats.

Threads like this are a dime a million. You notice Bungie doesn't even discuss things. You think they are unaware of how bad the matchmaking in the crucible is? They are totally aware they just don't care. It is set up to benefit the players that matter to them. If you don't feel that is you you are likely right. Most players simply don't matter. We are lumped into the cannon fodder for those who do.

4 通の返信I played a little over 35 games and got almost exactly the same results. It’s at least 80% solos vs 3stacks and 5:0 games. I’ve noticed I’ve been on my first round of a card in a solo team against a 3 stack in their final round a TON of times. It’s basically feeding 3stacks to pad the “flawless players” stat

This is going to sound mean, but it is not intended to be. It is simply pointing out some falsehood in your post. You are not an average player. You have a 0.51 k/d. That is bad. That is ok. It is not like I am good, but expecting matchmaking to cater to a 0.51 k/d player and considering that a an average player is a bit ridiculous.

Here's the thing about trials and having a "fair" match. The gamemode is a snowball effect if you win the first 2-3 rounds in a row then you will most likely win because your team will have all your supers up first. Even the highest skilled teams going against each other get 5-0ed.

2 通の返信Trials has been bad since it came to exist in D1. Stop kidding yourselves and acting like trials or pvp in general, was ever "good". Destiny pvp has ALWAYS been an unbalanced mess, because it can never be balanced. Nothing will ever change that.

2 通の返信Sweet Lew 88により編集済み: 11/14/2021 8:43:51 PM35 games is a fairly small sample size... That's a lot of losses. Sounds like you need to play with a team, get good with them and play with communication and coordination? I doubt anyone that knows about trials will expect to do well solo... Most just want to play without needing to LFG.

Yeah, trying to solo queue without Freelance is basically throwing lol. I got my -blam!- pushed in bad this weekend tryin to solo. They should make freelance for duos and solos, so you can either just solo queue or queue with a friend.
