1. As you said D1 is a old and DISCONTINUED game. While some remakes for other games have turned up D1 is not old enough and would not be for just one platform for the effort. 2. Bungie did not create the D2 PC port a studio called Vicarious Visions did and since Bungie left Activision they no longer have access to that studio. 3. Bungie only has limited resources so it is either continue with full support of D2 or divert staff and resources to creating a D1 port.... a multi year thing if you want a new game engine (which Bungie uses their own for D1 and D2) and improved graphics. 4. All D1 content is considered part of the content vault for use in D2 if needed... Cosmodrome, moon, pvp maps, VoG. 5. Nothing in D1 affects D2. There is no crossover between games. Characters were copied for D2 in July 2017 for use in D2 if requested. So no quick Veteran status for PC Characters.
