Hardlight feels so boring with just a stability catalyst. I know we can come up with something more creative like possibly a Shield Disorient / Disruption Break.
Imagine this exotic in pve with those perks!!!

Hardlight becomes a VERY powerful weapon with that catalyst. Because it used to not have any damage drop off. But whenever you make 600 rpm autos powerful, PVP players get mad.....and Hardlight paid the price for PVP wanting a perpetual hand cannon meta.

3 通の返信Honestly, I’d go for a mix of Genesis and Shield disorient. #1: Refraction Matrix - Hits on matching shield types returns rounds to the magazine. Breaking an enemy shield refills the magazine and disorients nearby targets. Or #2: Prismatic Amplifier - Hits on matching shield types increases the damage of the shield’s detonation. (Each hit would increase the shield’s explosion damage by 4%. The damage would be applied as a secondary explosion dealing up to an additional 196% of the blasts’ damage.) Both would work somewhat in pvp too. #1 working like Genesis normally, and can disorient Heir Apparent’s shield. #2 would only work in pvp against heir apparent.

But what if we can weapon craft this thing (I REALLY doubt Bungie will let it happen) and add mad things like Outlaw + Dragon Fly/Kill Clip. I'd DEFINITELY take back out of the vault! It's sad that Gnawing Hunger still does the job better in mid-range ... albeit only for Void. I suppose that's where Sorrow's Verse and Chrysura Melo come in for the other 2 elements. Nice one mate!

Imagine this exotic in pve with those perks!!![/quote] You asked, so how about this: When in arc, hard light shots will start "overloading" an enemy, when you plant enough shots, the enemy will release an arc explosion that damages them and nearby enemies. When in solar, all shots will have a burn DOT that will be strong in PvE but not so much in PvP, the damage in PvP would be weak enough to just be more of a tag'em and watch them via damage numbers behind the walls. In void, hard light shots will ad a stacking debuff to the enemies outgoing damage allowing you (after placing enough shots) to face tank a boss for a short time, the cost is that you need to keep hitting the target because without placing more shots (refreshing the timer), the debuff dies off FAST. And if stasis is allowed on it, every shot will ad x1 slow on the enemies in both PvE and PvP, hopefully making a full freeze impossible in PvP.

I agree but there are more old weapons that still don't even have catalysts. We keep getting new weapons each season that get catalysts right away which is neat, however Bungie continue to ignore weapons like Wavesplitter which would benefit simply from having a catalyst.

A lot of weapons and gear in destiny 2 are still designed with how the sandbox used to function. The hard light catalyst is a stability upgrade to combat the obnoxious screenshake it had for 5 years. Now that that's been fixed, they never updated it. Borderlands 3 had the same issue with their new vault hunter subclass trees.

It's pointless, they don't care simply look at guns like tarrabah and queens breaker. When they were updating guns like hardlight and borealis, they made it so you didn't have to reload to change elements. Yet tarrabah was never updated and queens breaker you still have to go [b][i]into the damn menu to change scopes[/i][/b]
