I was under the impression that the pools were separated. However, I just played members of my clan in IB who were six stacking and I know 4 of them are on PS5. Why are they in my matchmaking pool?
Next gen consoles can play up to 120 FPS and 105 FOV which completely makes this game play differently. 30 FPS and 75 FOV should absolutely NOT be in the same matchmaking.
This is just another nail in the coffin Bungie.
Edit: for those saying upgrade, yeah, I’ve tried. I don’t have 14 hours a day to sit on a restock discord to continually refresh my feed trying to see when a restock happens. I can just as easily hop on my rig and play @ 160 FPS but it’s not fair to put my PSN buddies at a disadvantage. If the game didn’t play so wildly easier on PS5/PC/Series X I wouldn’t have a problem with matching against them.

Spawn Of Apathyにより編集済み: 11/8/2021 3:31:22 PMI don’t think there was ever an indication that next gen players would be in their own pool. Destiny 2 was always cross Gen. Depending on the activity I could often tell if I was playing with somebody on a last Gen system. They’d hit in activity loading I wouldn’t and be stuck in place. Or they’d take much longer to load the map/activity. To have put them in their own pool would have mean they’d barely ever match with anyone. It may not be as bad now, but at the next Gen launch, there’d barely be able to play the game due to the low player numbers with a Series X and PS5.

1 返信The pools are not separated, PC players do not get separated based on who has a better CPU or GPU, why should console be any different?

Went to grab some food on 27 October and stopped in GameStop to see if they have any ps5. I was told the 29th of October they would have a significant amount in stock. I already have a xSX so I wasn’t worried if I missed out. Showed up an hour before they opened and got a sticker for 9th in line and was able to grab one. They had 65. You don’t need to spend 14 hours a day trying to get a next generation console. Last season matchmaking definitely was next generation vs next generation unless you were in a team with old generation and it definitely made a difference. Prior to cross play pvp sucked if you were on the newer console Bc the matchmaking pools were smaller. Bungie can’t keep the two separate in the future Bc old gen matchmaking pools get smaller everyday as people make the swap to next generation consoles. It was bound to happen.

If I'm playing on a pc that can barely squeak out 30-40 fps should I be put into a special "low fps pc" pool? Considering the main point op is having a problem with is the fps disparity then their answer to this should be yes. My hypothetical potato pc would the same as, if not worse, than playing on a ps4 and I have to fight players with machines far better than the ps5 will ever be.

4 通の返信I always find it funny that new gen players hate going against PC players, yet they are happy going against old gen w/ 30 fps and 72 FOV.

Ya it’s unfair but what can you do? Split the player base? You’re already playing with crossplay off I’m sure - which splits it - which leads to longer wait times. Do you really want to wait for PS4 only users? On the bright side you’re only playing against people also playing on controllers. FPS doesn’t really make a huge difference unless you’re sniping and even then with bullet magnetism I’m not sure if it makes a difference at all. The FOV increase is the only real advantage.

23 通の返信If there is at least 1 last gen player in a fireteam, last gen mm is triggered. The only fireteams that exist in next gen mm are full next gen fireteams.
