I’m a mute, and I have never experienced the real endgame content such as Raids since D1 with friends but they’ve all moved on. Raids in D2 look amazing and mechanically heavy which is a bit of a fear of mine to mess things up for people. I’m wondering if anyone would ever play with a mute?
I appreciate the feedback.

1 返信you can do raids pretty easy even if youre mute, just tell your fireteam whats up and they will usually assign you a non communication role or just ad-clear, the only time i can think of that requires actual talking from everyone is probably legit riven, the heart and some raid challenges

It can make certain encounters difficult where everyone needs to be in constant communication, but there are easy workarounds to the issue if people can spare just 10 minutes at most to establish a method for someone who is mute to communicate with the team. So no, it’s not really an issue unless people are going to make it one. A popular method I’ve seen used for folks in the past who weren’t able to audibly communicate involved emotes. Assign an emote to a certain call out and we’d have one or two people to be looking out for that emote and call it out. (Ie. “Rand0M_GuY dances” would mean “We teleported to Venus”).

So I haven't done all of last wish (just the last 2 encounters everyone's doing) or deep stone crypt (first clear I joined a group at the halfway point who had someone leave). However every raid I've done you can do with 1-3 people not communicating at all, sometimes it's actually best if only 1 or 2 people are talking. As others have said there is other ways (text to speech and emotes) but as long as you're up front and the team is willing you can easily find ways to make it work. The last section of last wish is the most communication heavy out of basically everything I've done but there's two easy solutions (I'll put in spoiler in case someone's not done the raid and still wants to run it blind). Pretty much every encounter does have at least one dedicated add clear person or a buddy system where only one of the team needs to speak. So I would see most teams slapping you on add clear while teaching others so you can hear/see how it's done and figure out something that works for you, just don't expect it from most Pugs especially not the "MUST HAVE 80 SOLO CLEARS DAY ONE OR KICK REE" that plague lfg most of the time.
So the last encounter for last wish is just a relay/baton race where 1 person at randomis chosen to carry the "baton". If lucky the person who can't talk (mute or no mic) is first. Each person can only carry the baton for like 15-20 seconds, the first personwillonlyget that timer and then pulled/taken (which is a small area so multiple people can be grabbed by accident) to a special room of infinite enemies and collectable lights (1 light for each gaurdian in this room). When you pick up all the lights it resets the timer for the current baton holder but will only spawn more lights when another gaurdian is taken. The best way to handle this is the first person in being the only one to grab lights to avoid resetting to early. The baton carrier is meant to call out what time they have left (typically when the timer reaches 8 start countingdownwith it) so the light team knows when to reset and the carrier team knows to move away as to not lose multiple gaurdians. So basically if the mute/mic less person is first no real problemthey just need to hear the others anyway. If they aren't you could have a dedicated counter (someone who starts counting as soon as they pick up the baton) so the teams still know what/when to do everything.
4 通の返信I'm in the same situation than you. I'm also mute. I play Destiny since the first one but never got the chance to play with people at strikes, dungeons and raids. I wish I could at least try some of them one day.

16 通の返信Some of the issues with being mute like the vault of you can't call your Oracle place in the order to destroy them it would kinda hamper progress and make some one pull double duty

One Death, Lord Of Xibalbaにより編集済み: 11/4/2021 11:31:12 AMI don't see why not. That mute girl in John Wick 2 kicked alot of -blam!- with just the use of sign language & a butter knife, tho, she still got peanut buttered and jelly'd by John Wick in the end. 😄

You could do it! As long as you're upfront with who you play with I would hope you would have no problems finding teams! If it's a raise you haven't done and need to learn you would of could need to find a group ok with taking the extra time,,but other than that, yeah! Deep Stone Crypt is a really cool raid, and the most mechanically simple of any Destiny raid. That would be a good one to dive into next

2 通の返信1 of our clan members is a mute, iam pretty sure hes among the best raiders on console. He communicates through emotes and t-bags. But he knows what he is doing and can often the task of 2 by himself. Often doesnt even need call outs.

2 通の返信Are you mute by choice, oath of silence, or can you not speak? This is gonna anger some people but I think people desrrve to know. Help a legitimately mute person, sure. But if thry don't wanna help a quiet person, someone who took an oath od silence, ect they shoulf be able to know.
