After experimenting in the crucible for a little I’ve concluded that I do much better on my warlock and Titan compared to my hunter, it’s hard to see where the OP comes in play lol
Hunters are the lowest risk class in the game. A free dodge every 10 second on any class, best movements of all classes, Shatterdive currently, Silence and Squall and more. They’re not OP, but they are the most used because they’re the easiest to use for low and even high level players

Just here to debunk the idea that dodge makes you invincible. Aim assist goes away, but you’re still just as vulnerable to bullets as you’d be by simply standing still. There are no I-frames, nor have there ever been, not even damage reduction. If you can aim, the dodging Hunter will die before their animation is done.

Fishにより編集済み: 11/3/2021 11:05:27 AMThere aren't I frames but an interesting quality of the breaking aim assit actually grants you intangiblity towards a few things. One funny example is actually the lighting from Warlocks bottom and top tree arc super.

It’s not the fact that dodge makes you “invincible.” It’s the fact that you can get a ridiculously short cool down time compared to the other classes. Also, you can instantly reload your guns or get full melee energy

OneTrueMandalorにより編集済み: 11/2/2021 12:44:40 PMAll classes can get very short cooldowns, it’s just dependent on what stats they focus on. And in my experience, using Marksman’s dodge just gets you killed even easier. Gambler’s dodge at least makes it a little bit herder to get shot since you’re lower to the ground. But you do need to be nearby enemies for that melee regen, so there’s the catch.

The shortest cool down you can get with barricade is like 14 seconds I think. Idk about rift, but I’m pretty sure it’s in the 25 second range. It also comes down to activation time. The placement animation for barricade and rift is much longer than dodge. The biggest pain point is the ease of use. Hunter gets hit, activates dodge, and gets out of dodge (pun intended). Titan/warlock gets hit, tries to activate barricade/rift, dies before the animation is complete
-
The barricade is a shield that you can place anywhere, and it stays there. Rally barricade reloads until it disappears. That's not comparable to a dodge with one reload and a break in AA. FWIW voops don't care about AA.
-
Another thing to remember is that barricades and rifts have an entirely different purpose than dodge, so I don’t know why anyone would try to panic deploy barricade/rift in the middle of a gunfight. And contrary to popular belief, you can in fact die mid-dodge. As someone who’s been playing Hunter for the entirety of D2, I can’t begin to count ho many times I’ve pressed dodge, and I get destroyed before the animation even finishes. Sometimes you’ll get lucky, but sometimes it’s just gonna get you killed.

Vox Aphotixにより編集済み: 11/2/2021 3:50:35 PMNot saying it’s better than the others, it’s just either a) it needs a cool down nerf or b) the deployment animation of barricade/rift needs to shorten Also, they are all good for what they are meant for. Barricade blocks damage while rift heals
-
You want an ability that blocks damage or heals to be as instantaneous as hunters ability to reload their weapon or slightly mitigate damage. That isn’t exactly a fair playing field. There has to be some trade off and that trade off is that it has a longer deploy time.
-
Because the cast animation is too long. So many times I die before I’m able to fully deploy my barricade. Worst is when it does the animation, but you foot is on a piece of rubble and doesn’t deploy the barricade.
