So, what is the reasoning on how Mara Sovs reappearance makes sense.. would it make sense that Mara Sov is also the witch queen in disguise, that would explain how she reappeared suddenly, it would also explain the collecting lost techeuns as a means to seize the light.

I don't agree, Mara is clearly fiercely and psychotically devoted to her brother. She clearly adores him but is also an emotionally unbalanced person. For instance after you run a certain number of astral alignments some new speeches drop where she basically plans to eradicate the spider for what he did to Crow. I think Mara likely feels responsible for what happened to Uldren and as such has some conflicted emotions on his current situation. She feels responsible for his descent into madness, his death and now rebirth as an amnesiac naive nincompoop. It's her brother and she has to keep her distance for fear of what it might do to him and at the same time desperately misses him. During the astral alignment quest line she refers to him accidentally as a term of endearment.. The whole situation is absolutely devastating when you really analyze it. I think it's setting up the death of Mara Sov and the fall of the awakened.

Mara IS evil. Nothing theoretical about it. She is just working her evil on OUR behalf. Or as (I think it was) comedian George Carlin once put it, [i]"(S)he a mad dog. But (s)he's **our** mad dog." [/i] Seriously though. Mara Sov is what is sometimes called a "malignant narcissist". IOW she is in that grey zone between someone with Narcissitic Personality Disorder and Anti-social personality disorder (sociopath). Its a grey zone because at the extremes Narcissists and Sociopaths start to resemble one another and become difficult to tell apart. They are generally "created" in similar ways....so it is possible for one person to develop both disorders. Both lack empathy for others (IOW, other people aren't seen as "real". Their thoughts, emotions, and needs aren't see as having any legitimacy. Other people are treated as objects that exist only to meed the needs of the narcissist or sociopath. Tools to be used with no more concern than one would show a cheap-and-easily replaceable hammer). Narcissists tend to use other people to meet their emotional needs. To make the narcissist and his pathologically fragile ego feel better. So they use people to get endless adulation and praise that has no realistic connection to their actuall abilities or accomplishments (grandiosity). Sociopaths tend to use other people to satisfy their impules. So they violate and exploit people. Emotionally, physically. Financially. IOW, they lack any sort of functioning conscience to act as a moral compass. They can harm people, and feel little or no remorse.....or in the case of some of the more dangerous individuals.....they actually take pleasure/satisfaction in doing so. Mara Sov is more towards the narcissistic end of things, rather than the sociopathci end. She will use people....often to absurd lengths....but in her case that exploitations tends towards an "My Ends Justify My Means" approach that is more typical of the grandiose egos of narcissists ("History shall be MY judge....not any of the people whose lives I expend on my ambitions.") Than the impulsiveness of many sociopaths. Also her need to control everyone and everything around her is more narcissistic in its scope. Don't confuse her anger at Savathun over what she did to Crow as being out of concern for her brother's well-being. She's mad because Savathun is interfering with her plans, and her efforts to control Crow by subtly pushing him back into his old life (To Crow's credit, he is healthy enough to instinctively set boundries and push back at her efforts to do this.) But this combination of narcissim and sociopathy IS what most people (in modern times) see as being evil....and the difference between Mara Sov and Savathun is more one of DEGREE rather than kind. If evil were on a spectrum of darkness between white and black. Savathun is black....while Mara Sov is medium to dark grey. Bottomline, is that I took an INSTANT dislike to her character when we met her in vanilla D1....and have never liked her. (God forbid ever seeing her as "attractive" in any way) Because I saw those aspects to her character right away. The rest of the community is just starting to see what has always been there.
