They copied Clash of Clans with the seasonal model.
They copied Fortnite with the pay for fashion model.
They’re trying to copy World of Tanks by locking content (and as such weapons and armor) behind paywalls with the upcoming arrival of paid dungeons.
The company has really lost its desire to create amazing content and instead is showing it’s really just about getting us (the players) to “throw our money at the screen”.
It’s sad and pathetic.
Bungie you need to up the ante if you want to keep me as a customer.
Edit: lots of people have replied to this, just want to reiterate that it’s only my opinion. I realize it’s a contentious subject. If anyone who disagrees with me can tell me why Cayde 6 is still narrating strikes, I’m all ears. Otherwise my point that Bungie is lazy and only about the money - as opposed to being about making great games, is valid... in my opinion.

4 通の返信It may be "just your opinion". But most of what you are saying are wrong on the FACTS. 1. Diablo 3 was the first AAA to popularize a seasonal format. 2. Actually Fortnite borrowed most of its ideas from discarded ideas from games like Destiny. 3. Nonsense. Destiny is a loot game. Loot games have always been designed that you had to PAY for the expansion in order to get the new, relevant loot. The expectation that you'd have access to it WITHOUT paying is laughably unreasonable. Now here's my opinion. This is a case of toxic nostalgia. While I appreciate the role that Bungie played in the lives of many Millennial gamers, and what a defining experience playing Halo was for many of them....that was NOT objectively true. I was in my early 30s when Halo CE landed, and had been a PC gamer for a number of years. While what Halo brought to the table was a groundbreaking and fresh experience for CONSOLE gamers...it was not all that remarkable for those who were used to what was available on PC. I played Halo CE for about an hour....lost interest....and never went back. I played Halo 2 for about an hour...lost interest....and never went back. Never even played Halo 3. Halo 4 played about an hour. Halo 5 played for several hours by the pop-in from trying to run the game at 60fps on base XB1 gave me a massive headache. In short I was NEVER impressed by Halo as a video game. Though I did like the story universe that Halo created (read lots of the novels). Prior to the Halo the only Bungie game that managed to capture my attention for any length of time as Oni. Destiny, OTOH, is truly something very special. But it is not, and never will be the spritual successor to Halo....and that is why some of you are upset. But the harsh reality is that what is fresh-and-innovative about Destiny is on the PVE side. It is that action-RPG/MMO/FPS hybrid---that "action-MMO"---that Bungie "unified their vision" around. And that Bungie has done a VERY good job of moving the game towards realizing the potential of over the last two years. Unfortunately, one game can't please everyone. So the pure shooter crowd. The Halo grads...and those who want a game they can binge on for 60 or 100 hours at the start of an expansion...and then leave for months at a time? Are going to be unhappy. Because this game is not being made with them in mind. Oh, and why Cayde-6 is still narrating strikes? Simple. Bungie had to "unify their vision" because there was an internal fight for control over the game within their own ranks. Those who saw the game as an Action-MMO....and those who saw the game as a campaign shooter and successor to Halo. The latter group GOT control of the development of Destiny 2 Stripped all the RPG elements out of the game...and nearly destroyed the franchise. So Bungie spent the next year trying to rebuild all the RPG elements of the game....and has spent most of the next three years after that, trying to rebuild all the systems necessary for the game to play as an "action-MMO". So Bungie has had to completely rebuild this game from the ground up....while we were still playing it every day. A feat that I liken to a rebuilding a house from the foundation UP...while people are still living it in every day. Bungie has largely done a very good job....but there are still issues (because of the collossal failure that was vanilla D2) that still need to be fixed. ...and a fanbase that needs to stop CLUTCHING at that failed past (like the residual content from vanilla D2 and Forsaken) and let it go.

3 通の返信lol I just got a comment deleted and a code violation for joking about the new content and it's perceived value within the community, so I have nothing more to add than Bungie are a fine upstanding company that only provide quality content and value for money. Now I'm gonna go play some more Breakpoint...

1 返信Why would they want you, WHEN THEY HAVE ME!!! I'm a new player, I'll spend hundreds of dollars on their games because I'm not a jaded old holdout from destiny 1, driven by nostalgia and my taken king runs. The point I am saying is, newer players don't have grievances with the game, they aren't angry about content sunsetting and are more willing to spend money on the franchise. Me personally, I am going to play the game 1-2 years and be done with it, at least if it's still fun. That's the normal time frame I play games that I find entertaining. Good luck and understand, the game will not suddenly become good for you again because for you it's not just a game, it became something else for you, and it's probably time for you to let that part of your life die and move on. It will be good for you.

9 通の返信
Bungie you need to up the ante if you want to keep me as a customer.
See, right here is your problem. You are on the Bungie forums, talking about bungie wanting bungie to win your heart back. Do you read what you write? Bruh, leave. Don't sit outside their window as some broken hearted ex with mariachis singing out to them. You don't like their business then leave. If you honestly defend your right to stick around then you definitely lose credibility on whatever garbage post you made.

1 返信DonWahn- You make some valid points and I agree that eververse must be removed from this game but, Whether we wanted it or not, we've stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars. So let's get to taking out their command, one by one. Valus Ta'aurc. From what I can gather, he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank just outside of Rubicon. He's well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defenses, take this beast out, and break their grip on Freehold

I think 30 years ago if you told them they’d invent a new game genre and ruled it for over 7 years, retaining millions of dedicated players year after year, at an insanely inexpensive per-entertainment hour cost to players, they’d be anything but ashamed. They’re not perfect, but most gripes about this game (including my own) are akin to landing Mila Kunis as your girlfriend and then complaining her -blam!- aren’t big enough.

31 通の返信Opinion: The Bungie of today could buyout the Bungie of 30 years ago 300 times over. Bungie 30 years ago had what,12 employees? Bungie today over 600. OP get a job. Do a bunch of work. Then get no $$$ for said work. Probably be on these forums blaming Bungie for not getting paid.

10 通の返信I whole heartedly disagree. This franchise is still alive and well. How many "Destiny killers" has this game survived? Answer: every single one of them. Stop acting like Bungie created MTX's. Thank your phone games for that. It worked on phone games, and developers would have had to be completely incompetent to not integrate it into mainstream gaming. It's a business - making money is the end game. Gaming has grown exponentially since I was a kid. There was no internet. Playing Defender or Galaga with friends meant you went to their house, they came to yours or you both went the arcade with a roll of quarters. Today we can play with friends on the other side of the globe. Point being: things change. Some for the better, and others not so much. Change doesn't necessarily mean "bad". Bungie is adapting to the changes that are being dictated by us. "We" the gamer are driving these changes not the developer. Sure the developers introduce "changes" - do you really think they do so with no research? They know we'll pay for "exclusive" in game items - just like people pay to sit in the best seats. Bungie of old should be proud of the "new" Bungie. This game is one of the greatest every made. The fanbase says so - if not, it would have died long ago. ✌

5 通の返信It's none of the same people. This is bungle, not bungie. They're completely incompetent. Thank God actual bungie gave them the blueprints and a basically finished game that was good enough that its taken them this long to completely ruin it

Dude, people always respond with non-constructive negativity anytime anyone makes a post because this community is toxic and in denial that the game they’re playing is just recycling content and being lazy. I’m on your side, ignore the freaking potatoes that clog every artery of these forums. Their opinions are just so obsolete.
