Curious how you got to 6.66 per month

Die hards like the OP will go through a lot of metal gymnastics to tell others that getting less and less every expansion is actually a good thing. OP and people like him are free to spend their money how they want to, but they are objectively getting ripped off. Coming up next 2023: $40 Expansion Dungeons, Sold Separately Strikes, Now sold Separately. 2024: $40 Expansion Dungeons, Sold Separately Strikes, Sold Separately Lost Sectors, Now sold Separately 2025: $50 Expansion Dungeons, Sold Separately Strikes, Sold Separately Lost Sectors, Sold Separately Raids, Now sold Separately Have fun in WQ but I am going to hope on to the Halo Infinite train and pray that Bungies business practices have not spread to other developers.

yea it wont affect you and you may not care. But as bungo changes their strategy, it gets weird. Before you could buy dlc with everything inside. Than seasons came which offer less content and are separate payment from dlc (yet prices of dlc went up). Now it will work in the way that ppl buy part of dlc (for same/higher price than before) and than another part of dlc for similar price and finaly season pass for same or higher price. And when you split price to months/days it doesnt make sense as you can only compare this to similar thing. Lets use planetside! Do you see some difference in pricing? :D Or is it totaly same?

Cable companies pulled the same thing and look how that’s going for them. I feel like you’re intentionally misrepresenting the issue. Nobody is complaining about a few cents a day increase. The problem is the way Bungie is going about it. It’s removing paid content without replacing it, and requiring additional payment for the pleasure. They want to have their cake (charge full expansion/game prices) and eat it too (claim F2P MTX pricing HELL) Speaking of Hell, the 6.66 is not lost on the ppl that know why “7” is such a big deal to Bungie. Or was. Maybe they don’t believe in any of that anymore and they just keep “7” around for nostalgia. Either way, yes it was intentional. And neither reason is acceptable from a customer pov. It’s either an inside joke about their skeezy monetization or a blatant slap in the face. Either way, intentionally disrespectful and displays their true colors. I don’t agree with not including the dungeons as part of the season pass. Dungeons previously had never been “deluxe” only, they were standard if you bought the season. Moving them to “deluxe” only doesn’t really enhance the consumer value of the deluxe edition, but definitely diminishes the season pass. It definitely is a bit pushy to get people to fork over more money. Not a fan of it. I already pre-ordered the deluxe w/anniversary, and I’m likely keeping it. But this has caught my attention and more moves like this may eventually cost my good will.

Why not make an announcement about the dungeons when the Witch Queen trailer dropped? Seems like these guys were waiting on the whales to bite on the "Anniversary content" first. To see if this method would increase profits. And then slowly go from there as far as changing things monetarily. So, OP....you "always" buy the Deluxe Edition huh? Then why question things like the size and content then? Should it matter? 🤔 You made it a point to put penny pinchers on the spot. Does that make you feel special? But it's ok for you to question what you pay for , right? Smh....

Honestly I know I might be in the minority regarding this, but it just looks like greed and that they wanna squeeze as much out of their playerbase. I know it sounds silly to some, but after being with bungie/destiny since D1, it's clear when things like this happen. But if you like destiny and you know your going to play it, then just go for the deluxe. Maybe that's what it is, maybe they forcing or trying to force players to buy deluxe editions more often.

Like I told another. I’ll reiterate your way. I feel that we are losing content from the paid expansions and subsequent seasons. Your points about the quality should be better than what we’ve experienced previously I agree with. Your math is also sound. LOL! Being asked to decide if we will pay additional for the Dungeons when I think they should be part of the new content, and not be sold as standalone activities to those that don’t purchase the Deluxe Edition feels like a cash grab. Any excitement I once had for the future new content/expansion has diminished based on this. Simply put; pay more to get what you used to get for less.

It’s actually 100 for a year and about 2 months if you buy 30th plus Deluxe witch queen version of the upcoming content drop. So that’s actually an estimated $7.14 a month. Assuming witch queen won’t get delayed. What if you buy the 30th pack and DWQ (Deluxe witch queen) separately then it’s 104.98 which would be an estimated $7.49 a month. But your saying your paying $6.66 so you’ll actually have to be paying 1 of the 2 above smart guy unless your completely skipping the 30th pack. Unless lol. You combined the 30th with this year which If you wanna be super technical though since beyond light came out in November assuming you bought the $70 deluxe edition lol. 70 + 25 (30th pack) = 95 That’s 13 months of Destiny 2 for $7.30. Plus that Sweet PlayStation network man so you can grind for that vex you got there that’s either 12.14 or 12.30 a month to play Destiny 2 the only way to only pay only $7.14 to $7.30 is to have PC. or are you pay 12.49. Edit: Boys worried about bigger better dungeons but can’t even get into endgame content he’s already paying for go do some grandmaster nightfalls your not even getting the full value of your “$6.66” edge lord.

I think people are jumping on the "Bungie just wants more money" bandwagon without actually thinking about what this means. One of the things people have been asking for is ways to only purchase the content they want to play, and more often than not, this means purchasing endgame content such as raids and dungeons. In D2Y5, there is a large portion of players that will not be bothered to play seasonal content, but want to keep up to date with the most recent raids and dungeons, these players will buy Witch Queen for $40, but not want to spend the extra $40 on seasonal content they don't want to play. Let's say each dungeon is $10, this allows players to purchase a year's worth of endgame content for $60 instead of $80, which is actually a net positive for the type of player that wants to only play endgame content. If you think that's a poor argument, ask yourself why. If you think it should just be tied to the $10 season, then I'm assuming you are buying the season to play seasonal content. If you are buying the seasonal content anyway, you should just buy the Deluxe edition which gives you all seasonal content and both dungeons for the cost of 4 seasons. When you actually break down the numbers, it's hard to see why this would be a bad decision. On top of that, one of the biggest complaints I've heard about the 30th Anniversary pack is the cost and that people would rather have an option to just buy the dungeon. Think about it for a moment, what do you think is going to happen next year when Witch Queen comes out, do you think they are going to get rid of the new dungeon or Gjallarhorn? If you can't buy the 30th Anniversary pack, how will you get to play the dungeon? It is very likely they will sell the dungeon on its own starting next year, and I could see it selling for $10 which I suspect is the price point for dungeons next year. Just a couple months ago, people were asking for a way to purchase dungeons as standalone content, yet, now they are saying it is just a money grab. The Destiny community really hasn't thought this one through...

Usually, the bag of chips gets more expensive while its actual amount in the bag gets lower. Thats how business works nowadays. Knowing Bungie, they will defeinitely do it in a similar way. So i am guessing, the dungeons become more expensive while being smaller and shorter and developed in a shorter time frame (rushed throwaway content).

I picked 10 random people in this thread that have an issue with the cost of content. Of those 10 people, 2 have more than 3,000 hours played in D2. 3 have between 1,000-2,999 hours played in D2. 5 have less than 999 hours played in D2. Video games continue to be one of the cheapest forms of entertainment today, so even the 5 players with less than 999 hours in this game are getting their money's worth. For those with more than 3,000 hours, this game is a steal. One of those players even has more than 5,000 hours in this game.
