What error?
Disconnections can be caused by someone in the fireteam having a bad connection it is not always at Bungie's end.

After the recent patch many players have been unable to join fireteams from invites and i was also stuck in orbit joining a quickplay match for 30+min while screen constantly switched between searching/ evaluating guardians 1/12. Reset my game/xbox/ and internet. Did not fix. Went to cold war and had no issues with connection so went back to destiny and still issue persisted
-
Define stable? Ive never had this specific issue before and now i cant even play the game with friends, unless they join on me. You seem to be knowledgable with tech so whats the issue, just magically after some patch/fix i cant do anything multiplayer in destiny?

Please be 100% honest with your answers. Who is your ISP? Wi-Fi or wire? Laptop or desktop, Console? What are your ups and down speeds? Speed Test here Are you using a hotspot connection? What is your ping? Ping Test Here What is your packet loss? How many people use your connection? How many items are connected like computers, consoles, tablets, phones, TVs, and household appliances, etc?
-
Nobody has an internet connection that is perfect 100% all the time. I check mine every day or so to see if anything is a miss Pkt loss etc. Evening and weekends cause congestion and multiple items and people using the connection, any number of things can lead to issues. So it is not always at Bungie's end people are always quick to point the finger before even checking their connections first.
-
Yeah. I understand what your saying, but it’s too much of a coincidence that so many people are having issues now when they weren’t before. My buddy gets “contacting destiny servers” all the time and never had an issue before. I realize that not all network problems are Bungie’s fault. Maybe all these folks just happened to start having issues, that are unrelated to the patch, at the exact same time? I doubt seriously that’s what happening but who knows?

It’s peer to peer dude, if there were network problems it would affect entire regions, or no one. Unless the game service is disrupted for whatever reason, 99% of the lag you experience is caused by the connection of other players.
My buddy gets “contacting destiny servers” all the time and never had an issue before.
That is a problem at his end
The server's message indicates that there is a connection issue of some kind happening between you and Destiny 2. This may be an internet service provider issue. Here are some steps you can take to try and resolve the issue: A wired connection is recommended to play Destiny, and if your connection is being used for other things when playing the game, such as streaming, it's recommended to quit those programs. 2. Clearing your console cache or, if on PC, verify the integrity of your game files. 3. Power cycling your internet router 4. Review our guide on improving latency and packet loss to see if that might help 5. Following our NTG for best optimizing your connection to Destiny. If issues persist, try our ADNG Advanced Steps Networking Guide for possible router solutions, such as enabling UPnP. You may also want to enable IPV6 on your router if you have it. 6. This player found a solution that involves installing new network driver 7. You may want to change your DNS server on your console to Google's Nameservers (8.8.8.8. and 8.8.4.4.) 8. Contact your internet service provider to see if there are any issues with your connection.
I get that your a shill for Bungie but I honestly can’t figure out why this is so hard for you to figure out. If he never had issues before and started having issues literally after downloading the patch and playing, why can you not at least concede the point that it’s possible that Bungie did something? I have never seen you reply with anything other than it’s the clients fault. If nothing has changed on his end, except Bungie’s patch, then it is absolutely possible that it’s a server side issue caused by Bungie. Same ISP, same hardware, same everything.

No
Shill

Same ISP, same hardware, same everything
And Hardware wears out and if it is cheap hardware it is not fit for the purpose. Checking one's end is not a hardship and people need to stop lying to themselves.

Rogueにより編集済み: 10/19/2021 9:38:59 AMThat’s not at all what I’m saying, Bungie make plenty of mistakes. But when Telesto was broken, it was broken for everyone. If the game was broken, it too would be broken for everyone. It’s really easy to hate Bungie, they are a faceless company. But if you actually want to fix your friends problem, you aren’t going to find the solution by getting angry at a company. Feel free to waste any amount of energy you want in that pursuit, but it won’t achieve anything. The smarter decision would be to direct that energy at things that are within your control.

I’m not asking anyone about his problems. I’m just wondering why none of you seem to be willing to concede that it could be Bungie’s fault. If he’s in orbit by himself and gets a error when trying to swap gear around that has nothing to do with p2p because he isn’t connected to anyone but Bungie. I’m going to continue to argue with folks that have their fingers up Bungie’s butt. It’s pointless. I’m not a Bungie hater or anything, I play D2 a good bit, but you folks are hilarious. Go to the help forum and Reddit and you’ll see a lot of people are having issues after the patch. 🤦🏻♂️
