If someone doesn’t have a problem with vault space, why would they argue against an increase? Makes no sense. Maybe some are offering inventory control ideas in lieu of an increase. Maybe some are just trolling

I do see the argument against added vault space being just another example of you as your character making choices about what to keep or not, you can't keep everything.. it works for a huge amount of players and only a select few have any issues.. is it really an issue they should sink time in for 1 or 2%.. maybe not.
-
Don’t disagree with any of that. The actual qty is irrelevant to my response. If it’s 1000, ppl will complain that it’s not 1001. The fundamental aspect of ‘more’ is what I’m saying. If they increased it tomorrow, would you jump on the forums to complain? Before you answer, I’m also not talking about sorting, organizing, etc
-
nope, zero complaint here.. I could make use of it.. loosen my restrictive keep or delete algorithm.. I suspect doing that would greatly impact UI response and other issues of storage for Bungie to have the game operate as we want.
-
That’s all I’m saying. It’s a basic face value sentence. All the white-knight ‘actually-technically’ garbo is irrelevant. It’s like some people can’t pass a Turing test either if you kwim. Then again, there is a spectrum after all

Dashengにより編集済み: 10/14/2021 4:37:34 PMIt depends if they have knowledge we don't. Maybe an increase of the storage is not easy on the dev side because of a lot of thing we don't even think of, and do it will take a lot of ressources for a long time. I would be great, but if it means the next season is lower in quality for this to happen, well, I ll not vote in favor of the increase. The other ways to create artificial vault storage would be to save (I think they already do that) every rolls you had on a weapons, and add a feature to take back any of that rolls combination from the collection. You ll need a system of favorite or erasing, because it would become quickly a mess
-
I think they insinuated in one of their more recent interviews that it's not so easy. So it's something they're probably aware of and would like to change or adjust somehow. I think locking in a god roll from collections is the way to go if we're not getting an increase. I wonder if legacy hardware might be left behind after lightfall, might give them more wiggle room. Not advocating for that as the new consoles are so hard to get right now, I'm one of the lucky ones.
-
Yeah, it would not be surprising that this is not easy to do. You'll have more load on the server (because it's out of question for them to let you keep the rolls you got in local files, you could modify them too easily), and probably rewritten a lot of code. Locking a god roll could be good, I ll probably won't use it personally as I often disagree with what people think is the god roll (explosive payload + firefly, for exemple), but having the possibility to retrieve the "god roll" or even the curated roll (the roll that appears in collection) could be good. For the legacy hardware, it's a really good question. As a PC player I didn't think about that, but if they do again graphic updates and stuff like that, old gen consoles might began to have hard time. And people will get furious if they decide that the game will no longer supported on old gen (just like it's happening with vaulted content). Happy for you on the new console, indeed, for gamers, we had a hard time getting the latest piece of hardware.

If there’s a dev that has intimate knowledge of Bungies proprietary systems and hangs out in the forums to tell ppl that more vault space would bring the house of cards tumbling down because it’s being held together with chicken wire and bubble gum, ya ok. That would make sense.
-
Well, the fact that increasing the vault space would create problem doesn't mean it's "being held together with chicken wire and bubble gum". Maybe those kind of saying is what keeping them from saying it to us. If people say it's because it was done poorly while they don't have any clue on what they're talking, it's not encouraging. Even people in video game industry can't be sure, because it depends on the motor they use, and they use a custom one, so basically, all we know is that this kind of change always bring complications, and they might have a similar issue. Don't think it's just a slider they can move to 10000 if they want to. + Bungie is a team composed of human workers, that might have shifted with the time, they might feel like resources are better spent making a presage mission rather than going deep on the vault space, try to move it, correct every bugs one by one, thinking of solutions if major issues appears, just for a bit more space for X% of the people near full on their vault. I wish they could do it easily, but since they still didn't do it after all this time, I'ld bet it's not that easy
-
I fail to see how one affects the other. Is there one person that is responsible for all that? How do you actually believe it’s an ‘either/or’ situation? That’s not how it works. That’s not how any of this works
-
Dashengにより編集済み: 10/14/2021 5:10:46 PMIndeed. While teams doesn't all work on the same thing (animator won't debug the coding of the server for melee hit registration), space vaulting is certainly a developer work, and so would be the gambit or mod stuff... So yeah, it's a matter of priority. Bungie tends to do it in this order : Remove things that break the game > Correct softlock/hardlock > correct things that break the game > correct major bugs > Correct minors bugs / add QoL This while they playtest more and more because of how much people try to break the game (like the luckypants rework not procing with the hawkmoon last shot). Those are stuff that takes time too. Vault space is a QoL, and I'ld say a pretty low priority in QoL too. All the customization revamp system was complex (maybe more that vault space) and came before it. EDIT : QoL means Quality of Life, it's featured that makes the experience more enjoyable, like holding a button to avoid deleting too fast, lock equipment to not dismantle by mistake, etc. Not everyone might be familiar to this appellation
-
Everything you said is accurate. Like I mentioned before you don't know what every team is assigned from day to day. Furthermore you have no experience with Bungie's systems to know how easy or hard it will be to change the vault size. So you feel that an extra task is no harm to the worker with knowledge of what you're asking. At the end of the day there is no money to be made from vault space increase. QoL does not pay the bills if its free.
-
Ok by your logic if it doesn't make them money they shouldn't make any changes. How do you even measure a metric like that? Like they'd probably make more money on beyond light if they left stasis alone but they changed it anyways. You're logic is seriously lacking my dude. I know you're a hangry troll because people aren't giving you the responses you want but this is such in incoherent, nonsensical argument!
-
You're asking a company to reallocate resources. Those resources are people that need to make money. At the present time there us no money to be made in increasing vault space. This is basic economics not the kind where mommy and daddy give out cash. Bungie is a business FIRST. Child.
-
RopeAdopeにより編集済み: 10/14/2021 6:01:06 PMIf they’re riding the knifes edge that hard then their BUSINESS has way bigger problems than vault space Edit: lmao being called a child by someone with a 420 username. That’s good. I actually smiled at that XD
-
I'm glad you laughed, I voted for legalization in 2012. The money goes to schools I read up on the economics of it. Bungie has been doing business for almost 30 years and you think they're on the razors edge? Chronologically you may not be a child but academically you are.
