I think the reason strike's boring, almost painful to do now is because one there isn't enough strikes and two because the bosses and mechanics in them aren't unique or different, its just die instantly, or they have the player just waiting to do damage between invincibility phases.
What they need is to bring back bosses from D1 that were interesting like the bond brothers or theosyion, they had interesting fights, the bosses were unique from each other and were difficult to kill, but we are much more powerful now but im sure bungie could give them some sort of armor (which would be better the invinc phases)
p.s. bring more strike specific loot

5 通の返信they are! especially when you have to run them 400 fkn times in a row just to unlock a simple catalyst. like wtf.

Well I easily compare Strikes to doing a Dungeon in Final Fantasy XIV Online, But even those often had mechanics during each boss encountered along with Dungeon gimmicks I find the entire concept of using Scaling of stats and just DPS burning bosses down boring It's why I got bored with Phantasy Star Online 2 on the Japanese Servers because our entire Endgame was Min/Max just to kill the hardest boss in the game at the time within a few minutes

1 返信All the interesting good strikes are in D1. Bond Brothers, Alak hul, Echo Chamber. These had interesting mechanics.

Yes i would be more inclined to play or even farm strikes if strike specific loot would make a comeback in form of armorpieces. I loved that mark the Undying Mind dropped back in d1. Current strikes are a 6-10 min borefest.

2 通の返信Great strike actually but Savathuns Song was my favourite strike…I may be the only one who thinks so lol

1 返信Of course they are, because any time they try to put mechanics in strikes its hated and they get backlash ,ie Corrupted

1 返信GRAVELにより編集済み: 10/14/2021 10:40:02 PMThe only problem with strikes is both Bungie and the player's investment in them. They only fail in capturing the imagination due to familiarity. If Bungie were to invest in them just a bit... They'd be amazing! Idk, off the top of my head, hide runes or tablets in strikes. Involve my mind. Force me to decipher over the week. If translation is correct= prize. If not, better luck next week. The most important factor would be complete RNG unique translations or else this community would YT everything!

10 通の返信No, enough of the bring-back D1 content BS. That is part of the problem with this game and bringing D1 bosses back is not going to change how -blam!- boring the strikes are, period. You say it's because of bosses and mechanics. I say it's because of the lack of talent and inspiration.

1 返信There not that bad, but I wish they brought back daybreak strikes just for like fun and see how quickly we can get through strikes

1 返信I'd like to see more dynamic environments for the boss fights, like fighting in the dark or having to chase the boss up an old missile silo where if the boss reaches the top an onslaught of adds awaits. This is why I miss the pyramidium strike. Even thoe I ran through it countless times I just loved the drops, the gauntlet of lasers, and...the boss fight. Especially when you glitche the boss so that it's invincible and chasing you around in a frantic. Now...it's a grind.

The level of unpredictability needs to increase in many of the activities, and definitely in Strikes. I have ideas for what that looks like, but they all boil down to better AI (more dynamic), and more destructible environments. Strikes need things that will allow for more unique playthroughs in addition to interesting boss fights. You need only consider three things when running strikes right now: 1) Your fire team, 2) Speedrun? 3) Don't Speedrun? Everything else is auto-pilot. We need more "Surprise Muthaf####!"

It's the invincibility phases that drive me insane. Artificial extension of the strikes. Nothing like popping a super it takes 5 minutes of the 8 minute strike to build up when the team has done 23 percent damage. Pop that amazing thing for another 2 percent to take it to the first of seven invulnerability phases. The Forsaken strike bosses are particularly vomit worthy. That being said, Sunless Cell was the best strike ever. Don't @ me.

Rogueにより編集済み: 10/14/2021 6:49:45 PMI only remember one or two bosses in destiny 1 that were routinely “popped.” But in Destiny 2, strikes don’t have boss fights. Even with invulnerability phases, they don’t get any time to act because they are gone in seconds. Edit: to clarify, we had the damage in D1 to pop bosses, but it required people to actually sort of coordinate. In D2, pick up groups are able to reliably boss melt.

3 通の返信And people wonder why people like myself and others speed run the strikes. It's because they're monotonous and boring. We just want our pinnacle so we can do what we enjoy
-
3 通の返信I agree. It doesn’t help that we have been playing the same strikes over and over since release. Playing Inverted Spire for the millionth time isn’t fun. Along with it being boring, the loot is far from desirable unless you are running master or gms. Bungie desperately needs to update the core playlists. They are the primary focus and without any updates, it gets stale.
-
The strikes are awful, the development team has been lacking like crazy in that department. Along with crucible maps and gambit tuning. Like we’re running a GM that’s been out since the beginning but they took out festering core

16 通の返信The shield brothers is objectively the best strike in destiny. I think everyone can agree.
