The Hunter Subclass of Arc Strider, the whirly stick of lightning all the hunters bring to the yard for Ad clearing, still leaves something to be desired when it comes to Boss damage, So there was a fun thought that what IF, like Ward of Dawn, there was an alternate Super you could hold-cast as an Arc Strider and use your Whirly Doom stick as a Spear of sorts, maybe even comboing with multiple hunters using the super for Anarchy-like chain lightning between the Spears...
As the title says its hopes and dreams but a really cool Idea in my mind to give the Arc Strider some much wanted damage against bosses as to not force players to switch off a subclass just to deal damage.

9 通の返信No. Hunters dont need buffs, they need nerfs. Period. You are high off ur nutt if you think hunters need a buff.

4 通の返信Arcstrider needs to be reworked for all modes and to be honest, they never should have taken the Bladedancer away. It feel so good and snappy. Even Wraith just feels so bad compared to Bladedancer of old.

I want a couple changes to arcstrider, maybe fragments or whatever when the light subclasses rework comes but still: -More infinite combos >If I want a heavy attack, I’ll input a strong attack. Let me just go off, take out adds, beat the crap out of a boss, let me let them have it. -More combos in general >Give me more combos so I have more versatility. I understand that it boils down to “hit things, or hit big thing” but it seems like it’s trying to let us mess with combos, but they seem shallow. Flush it out. -Throw the Staff/Teleport/Movement Ability >Let arcstaff throw the staff, having it hit the ground, and then the arcstrider comes crashing after it. Make it a movement ability that costs a lot of the super meter, but allows for moderately fast relocation/aoe damage over a distance, so someone can’t just run away from them like they currently do, regarding pvp, as well as offering more potential in pve if enemies are just a bit too spaced out.

2 通の返信It needs a chain damage buff. Consecutive hits increase damage. Chaining the palm or the ranged attack with the regular hits should give you a damage buff.

3 通の返信At least we can reverse stasis tornados with middle tree strider, but striders neutral game is cheeks.

4 通の返信It use to be great for boss damage. But because it made some boss encounters to easy like most things with a hunter it got nerfed. Just don’t get me started. Hunters are always the first to be nerfed or have half the forums lit up asking for a nerf when hunters have a viable subclass for pvp.

3 通の返信When they made whirlyguard I had the idea that it would be really cool if projectiles your allies shot into you also reflected toward your cursor but with a damage multiplier. The specific idea I had was a hunter pointing at a boss and five geomags going into the guard like some kind of voidray from Starcraft.

2 通の返信-I want whirlwind guard to last about a second longer. Not being able to get the palm strike with whirlwind up sucks a lot -I want to be able to blink while in super. Thank you for coming to my TED talk

4 通の返信Not everything in the game has to be for boss damage. I'm extremely tired seeing everyone trying to make everything equal

That sounds awesome to be honest, unfortunately bungie doesn’t think buffing hunter subclasses is a good thing, and the majority of the destiny community hate on hunters for some reason. So even though your idea is great, they won’t implement it. If i was the art director of destiny 2, I’d look into this idea and incorporate it because it already contains mechanics currently in the game so implementation should be easier than creating something new. But unfortunately im not the art director so. We get what we get man.

2 通の返信Titan main here who thinks hunters in general are pretty broken and the favored class by devs… however I give you kudos for having an awesome sounding idea. My personal opinion is that each subclass should have alt-supers for long press (hold) that work like bubble Titan. Having that kind of utility on the fly would be very nice and might help some of the underutilized subclasses desirable. Imagine if the Titan could do a big overhead toss of the maul that acted like a flaming nova bomb that spawned tiny tornados around the impact spot…

At the very least, Whirlwind Guard should have an additional ability where blocking incoming attacks, whether projectile or melee, charges up energy that you can then release as a ranged Arc blast by pressing the heavy attack button while guarding. The deflect by itself is pretty useless in PvE. It doesn't do any good damage, and most enemies won't be bombarding you with enough projectile attacks to even get any good use out of it. Not to mention, it drains your super pretty fast unless you use that Exotic chest piece that reduces the energy consumption.
-
It does pretty good damage right now though. Especially with 8 stacks of feast of light...but getting those 8 stacks would mean you would have a second super anyway... Seriously bungie...buff star eater scales...their super damage buff is useless. 8 orbs with them on is 80% towards a next super.... Return it to 50% more damage for 4 orbs. That was fine.

Plant the stick in the ground as a tesla tower (obelisk laser tower popped in my head). I also think it would be fun if super styles had some sort of commonality - similar to Well of Radiance, but with different buffs..., like roaming supers and stationary ones, active offense and active defense. So many options.

12 通の返信Hunter Arc Strider used to be good with bosses. It was popular, so they nerfed it. Some exotic guns become overpowered every now and then. When they become popular, guess what? They nerf them. Some guns they sunset them, burried until it's time to sell them again. Fun is not a thing here. Control is! Destiny in a nutshell. Been like this for 7 years. Stale and empty.

1 返信It would be cool to be able to stick it in the ground like a dawnblade and do AOE damage all around.

5 通の返信Wish mask of bakris worked with strider. Would be nice to shoot someone with a hc, warp in, punch them in the face to kill them then roll back out. but that and shadestep is sorta why you can't.
